Botanical Beauty/A Marriage of Art & Science: Sarah Graham's Oak Leaf Collection

Come explore the exciting world of avant-garde design found in Sarah Graham jewelry.  Showcasing fascinating work that can not be found in a traditional jewelry store, Susan Campbell Jewelry is adding Graham's collection to our eclectic inventory that celebrates a true marriage of art and science.  Graham is an internationally acclaimed sculptor and jeweler, and SCJ is launching her new collection Oak Leaf, an innovative 3-D printed jewelry line which debuts Graham’s partnering with Formlabs (makers of the Form 1 + 3D printer.)

Graham prints gold leaves that are set as earrings, pendants or set on pebbles (as an oval pendant or ring). The result is a startling look of rain-soaked leaves with curled, delicate edges achieved by precision printing. This solid gold and cobalt chrome sculptural jewelry is alive and vital.  Technical details are clearly defined in the collection’s pieces and Graham’s layering of her 3-D forms add a lifelike quality.

This novel aesthetic captures two important aspects of physical memories in the metal: the wetness of the leaves, and the wrapping effect. Graham spent weeks "playing with lots of textures and making lots of adjustments to the position of the leaves as they wrapped around the stone."  She worked diligently to find perfection in this new artistic process: "I printed my ideas every day for three weeks until I got the effect I was going for."  Graham's pieces are then enhanced with a row of small, sparkling diamonds embedded the golden oak leaves that are wrapped around a dark, steel rock.

Susan Campbell Jewelry has added a new sparkle to our selection of diamonds.  Discover designer diamonds fashioned from fireworks. Suzanne Kalan's Fireworks Collection exemplifies brilliance and clarity.  Located in SCJ's first glittering shop case is Kalan's baguette-cut diamond jewelry. Revisit the past with a dash of the present with stylized baguette diamond rings, bracelets or earrings.

What is a baguette cut?

The long, rectangular baguette-cut diamond has octagonal corners. Emphasizing geometric form with straight, clean lines, a baguette-cut diamond has the appearance of "steps."  Baguette-cut diamond jewelry earned popularity in the 1920s and 1930s during the art deco and art nouveau movements.  This cut traditionally has 14 facets, giving the diamond a high level of luster.

Suzanne Kalan strives to combine "the hip and traditional" when handcrafting her jewelry.  A 2014 Couture Design award winner, Kalan has spent the past 25 years pursuing natural elegance.  Inspired by Kalan's combination of the modern and traditional, SCJ is excited to feature Kalan's modern twist to basic designs found in her Fireworks Collection.

We are excited to debut one of our favorite designer's new lines. With an elegant hand, Rebecca Overmann has created a line of men's wedding bands that we are featuring this week during our wedding trunk show.  

Attractive and unique, Overmann makes wedding rings that complement each other.
