suit connie is just... omg.. just omg. you guys are guilty of murder w suit connie. and to make this not just a thirsty connie ask, do you guys ever see yourself being finished w this au? and if you do, do you guys have a particular end point in mind?
Well, it all depends. This project is more of a hobby for us than anything and we're going to keep that mindset more than ever, which is why you’d see a more erratic posting schedule from us, haha.
However, when we do get to it, we do have a particular endpoint in mind regarding Connie and Steven, and if we never get to the conclusion, then we'll definitely make sure to update the master document to show it.

“When was the last time you shopped for clothes?” Natalie asked, guiding Connie into a way, way too fancy clothing store. Why had she agreed to drive so far? Why were they downtown? This was the kind of store where you looked at the price tags and then the attendants followed you around because they knew you were poor. She wasn’t supposed to be here.
“All the time,” Connie said, though clothes shopping had never been a memorable enough experience that she could say for sure. Lies were easier to get things over with quickly, to get her back home as soon as possible. “Listen, Natalie, you really don’t have to do this. When will I ever get the chance to wear a suit, anyway?”
“Whenever you want, hon.” Natalie grinned and tweaked her nose. “It’s college. Show up to your lecture in an evening gown if everything else is in the wash.”
Connie cringed at the thought of a classroom full of eyes on her in a pretty dress. “No, thank you.”
“You’ll find a place to wear it,” Natalie insisted. “Once you have it, you’ll want to go somewhere you can wear it, I swear.”
She struggled for another reason to leave. “But the price is-”
“Literally nothing to me. I’m rich!” Natalie dragged Connie through the glass sliding doors and into the quiet room. Clothes hung perfectly on their racks and only having a few patrons made it feel like the place shouldn’t be disturbed, but Natalie plunged ahead like she lived there. “We’ve got your measurements, but we really just need to get close. I’ll send it all to the tailor.”
“Tailor?” Connie squeaked. Even more money on something as silly as clothes.
“Yeah, that’s how you make any clothes look good. Get someone with a machine to stitch it to your body.” She laughed as they made their way to the women’s sections and the pretty jackets there. “You can do it with cheap clothes, too. Give dollars per shirt or so. That’s why I look so good.”
“All your clothes are tailored?” she whispered. Five dollars minimum tackle onto every piece of clothes. She considered herself lucky if her clothes fit at all.
“Mmm.” She nodded and held up a jacket sleeve to Connie’s arm, then another. “Nice. Neutral tones. We can get you in reds, blues, and greens. You like blue, right? Elegant. Classy. Not crazy attention-grabbing.”
“I guess.” Connie’s crossed her arms over her chest as worry and defeat coiled up in her belly. No getting out of it this time. “Whatever you think is best.”
“Connieeeee!” Natalie whined. “Come on! Don’t you have any thoughts! I thought you wanted a suit?”
“It’s not…!” She groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose. “I want to have a suit because I think they look cool. They’re not form-fitting, and sexual like dresses usually are, even if they look good. It just seems like I could look good without feeling naked, that’s all. Any of this would do it.”
She swept out her hands and expected a scoff of frustration, for Natalie to give up on her fun and drag them out of the store. Maybe even tell her to find her own way home. But the other girl simply nodded to herself. “Okay. I can work with that.”
It was not the giddy, bubbly squealing she had expected from a shopping trip. They continued quietly, gently. Natalie asked Connie guiding questions, held up shirts and pants to the mirror, slid jackets over her shoulders with light conversation. Slowly, the tension faded, so that the silence of the store felt more like a comfort than a judgment.
So, she tried on a few suits until one of deep blue seemed to hit her skin just right. Connie gawked a little at herself in the mirror while Natalie had run off, fetching something to complete the outfit. Connie looked confident. Professional. Fancy. Attractive, maybe?
Natalie slipped up behind her with a green tie. “Final piece, What do you think?”
She stared, voice shaking a little with awe. “I actually look…like I’m supposed to wear this. I thought I’d look like a stupid kid putting on her mom’s clothes.”
“Nah. You belong in nice clothes, you know. Every once in a while,” Natalie said with a wink. “Here, let me show you how to tie a tie.”

oh so how did the piercing process go with Connie?
Connie’s hand clamped down hard on his as she sat in the piercing chair. He did his best to stroke the back of her hand soothingly as he asked, “You really don’t remember the last time?”
She started to shake her head, then held still as the piercing girl marked her ear with a spot. “My mom got it done when I was a baby. She feels bad about it now, but it’s not that big of a deal.”
“But this one is all you,” Steven said. Then with a wink, “And it’ll only hurt for a minute.”
“Maybe we shouldn’t,” she said nervously. “Maybe the healing is a bad idea. What if it heals wrong? Like the earring fuses to me forever?”
“That’s not going to happen. My healing powers work how I want them to.”
“But what if they don’t?” she gulped.
“I don’t have to kiss it if you don’t want.” He giggled. “But you’re probably gonna want me to kiss it.”
The piercing girl smiled, holding up the gun. “Okay. It’ll be real fast. I’ll fire in the stud, twist and disinfect. You ready?“
Connie nodded, holding her breath as her ear was lined up with the hard plastic of the gun. She expected a count to three, but the piercing girl apparently wasn’t interested in warnings. A flash of pain made her squeak with surprise, then cringe as cold disinfectant scorched her ear. The stun throbbed and burned all at once as she twirled it, keeping it clear.
Connie rapidly tapped his hand. “Yeah! Kiss me, please!”
He laughed, stepping to her other side and giving her ear a quick peck. Pain rapidly ebbed away, and she reached up to tug out the little stud. The piercing girl’s eyes went wide. “No! Don’t do…”
Steven pointed to the properly healed hole with a grin. Connie giggled, plucking the star earring from the woman’s hand and putting it into her brand new piercing. She gave it a painless twirl and said, “Huh. How weird. Guess I had a hole there all along.”
