I brought home this adorable little guy and I’ve had him for two months. I’ll be updating until we get to present day, then trying to remember to post regularly. Sven is 2 years old and is a registered Fjord.
We moved Zippy to this place last night. I went out this morning and she got right to work and was such a good girl! She moves more freely in this dressage saddle so let’s hope that continues!
Backstory: the farm she was at, the barn manager let me know a few weeks ago that she had accepted a job in Florida for an amazing opportunity which I’m happy for her. But the barn owners don’t do anything with the horses and the person that was taking over I really didn’t want taking care of my horse. So I had found a facility and made a plan to move her on the first of next month. Yesterday I got a call from the barn owner almost in tears who told me she and the owners got in a fight and they had threatened her and the horses so we rented a trailer since we have a truck and got the horses out of there. She’s at this place temporarily until I can move her to the place I had initially planned to.
Zippy was a good girl at her first show ever! We got first in green horse walk trot, third in open crossrails, second in equitation, didn’t place in hunter hack, got fourth in pleasure, and finished out the day with a second in equitation pattern! She’d never jumped a full course or jumped off property and I’m proud of her!
Miss Zippy and I had an awesome ride! We ran through Intro A and B for prep for a dressage show we have coming up. She was such a good girl and is catching on so quickly! She also got a stall plate and got a visit from the saddle fitter.
Princess Zippy got to try on all her fancy new dressage stuff after we hopped some hops. She’s still figuring out how to jump but she’s so good and willing! We’re going to our first show at the end of the month and I’m excited to see how she does!
Miss Zippy and I went for a solo trail today. She was pretty good considering we were alone. One fire breathing dragon moment but other than that very good.
Miss thing got a bath. She definitely has the mare stare down and did not appreciate being turned purple but she is very clean! She also got a mane trim and her new salt lick hung. I’ve never met a horse who enjoys salt licks so much. She got plenty of belly scratches which she also would die for.
Miss Zippy was so good today! She got her feet done and we’re trying her barefoot. I then rode her and jumped her for her second time ever and she was so good! She then got a nice hose off since it was nearly 100 degrees!
