she’s already betrayed ilseong, so i won’t be surprised if she does it again? before all of this mess happened, arwen was one to never betray anyone and she swore by this. however, time and time again, this was something that arwen did on the daily - something that she would always later regret in the future.

[ 🎈 ] does your muse have many regrets? what are they?

arwen has many regrets because every decision that she has made was always for a temporary blip of happiness. this was seen when she chose to use the money ilseong gave her for creating art, and used it for drugs and partying instead. at the time, she didn’t use her brain and appreciate all the good she had at the time - and soon, eventually, when her arc happens (i still don’t know what it’ll be i suck im sorry), she will understand how much good she had and how fortunate she was. 

[ 🏆 ] is your muse afraid of failure? what do they do when they fail?

arwen is afraid of failure, but at the end of the day, she doesn’t care - at least that is what she convinces herself, anyway. whenever she does fail, arwen often goes down her usual spiral, often bottling it up and trying to neglect it instead. but eventually, this spiral breaks and the bottle bursts, causing her to harm the closest people around her instead.

 i don’t know about the other members here (and how their muses perceive her), but mara tries to leave the impression that she is truly good. yes, she follows SOME of the southern beliefs i.e. she’s a true christian, believes in god through and through, understands that appearance is everything, and that the world should be ruled at a somewhat conservative view. but she has a heart of gold, meaning that she wants to show to others that she will be on your side, no matter what. 

[ 🗾 ] how self-sufficient is your muse? are they more independent, or do they need others around them?

[ 🍀 ] does your muse believe in luck? do they have a good luck charm or rituals they follow to avoid bad luck?

despite being raised with christian beliefs, her father still practices some of the chinese cultural rituals, afraid that if he clings on to the western ideals too much, he’ll forget where he came from. it was on the front porch of the liu’s home that you would often see a little golden cat with it’s paw raised, moving in a rocking motion in order to coax in luck, prosperity, and wealth within their home. when visiting the home, mara makes sure to keep that little golden kitten polished and shined.

aside from jacking things from people’s home, holden loves cross-stitching. i know, right? a grown ass man who can be soo charming, devilish, and a bit annoying, loves cross-stitching? just imagine large fingers holding a tiny needle and thread... ANYWAY. holden learned this skill from his older sister, you know, the one who was loved and adored by his father? even though there were moments where holden was jealous of her, he still looked up to his sister. so this boy can sew. if you’ve got a hole that needs stitching up, holden is here to help.

YES. holden has broken the law many times in the past and will most likely do it again because he can be a bit stupid. he’s always gotten away with it in the past because he’s got his dad’s money and reputation. however, there is only so much that his dad can and is willing to do in order to bail his son out for the messes he’s created.

[ 🧭 ] does your muse know what they want? how well can they advocate for themselves?

arwen always knows what she wants - and it’s always been handed to her. she wanted to be an artist like her mom, and she did. then, she wanted to get engaged to the man she thought she loved and she did. however, it wasn’t her true intention to ruin things as it ended up being. arwen has always given the reason of “because i’m adorable, reliable, and hardworking.” two out of the three statements is no longer true, but arwen still truly tries to get what she wants and when she wants it.

[ 👥 ] does your muse have many friends? do people feel they can rely on your muse?

if arwen had friends, they are often long gone. given her past decisions of involving herself in the wrong crowd, burning down bridges when it’s not needed, arwen has accumulated a crowd of people who can’t stand her more than wanting to be her ally. the only true person she considers to be a friend is eloise, who checks up on her once in awhile, just to make sure she isn’t in some ditch with her wallet missing. arwen has proven to many time and time again, that she’s unreliable. but something tells me that her redemption arc is going to be forming soon... i’m just not entirely sure what it is quite yet.

there are always moments where mara wants to give up - i feel like that’s just human nature, when we get so tired of trying to do what we believe is right, we’re bound to just let it be. but i see mara as a fighter, someone who is determined to do the right thing to make sure the people in new ham are able to survive long enough for them to return home. whether she knows it or not, it’s something that she’s learnt from their mother.

[ 🗾 ] how self-sufficient is your muse? are they more independent, or do they need others around them?

at the start of the new society, mara was always dependent on other people i.e. their parents and the small amount of friends outside of town that she had. but when all of those people who were a form of comfort disappeared, mara was forced to become a more independent person. sure, there are moments where she relies and believes that she needs eloise for guidance. but soon, they realize that they are capable of figuring out this by themselves, even though the road is difficult.

funny. he knows he shouldn’t care about one of his ex-faction members liking him, and yet, he does. they were good to him, all of them really. it was just a matter of doing what he thought was best for everyone when he decided to make the switch.  “ dunno. ”  his eyes flash warm and bright from the map over to the faction one leader.  “ can’t say i’m exactly the expert in that uh… rodeo. ”  that was the saying… right?  “ i tried making one of those sticky note charts for my classes to keep everything organized? couldn’t do it. kept on sticking to me. i’m like the sticky-magnet. ”  his smile falls slightly then, fingers haphazardly scratching at incoming stubble as he loses himself in thoughts of his students, his classroom, his life outside of here.  “ you’re uh.. you know.. you’re doing your best. what you think is right and all that. it’s all anyone can ask for, right? ”

exhausted,   he   had   no   IDEA   that   he   was   going   to   be   bumping   into   his   old   lover.   head   and   eyes   to   the   ground,   his   peers   in   faction   two   would   have   disapproved   that   he   didn’t   keep   them   up   instead,   to   be   aware   of   his   surroundings.   but   he   was   deep   in   thought   -   what   was   the   next   move?   how   long   did   he   have   to   do   this?   when   were   they   going   to   get   back   home?   it   wasn’t   until   he   bumped   into   a   lithe   figure,   smaller   than   him,   and   quite   familiar,   that   brought   his   attention   back   to   the   present,   disturbing   all   forms   of   anxiety   and   replaced   it   with   a   new   emotion;   regret.

╰ ★ 】 ━━━━━ though their being trapped in whatever form of hell this was showed that there were no monsters prowling the campus, the fire of lance hall showed that they were the only creatures here who went bump in the night.  he wasn’t even sure himself if a patrol would do anything, but, it was an assigned job, and he didn’t think arguing with the new ham overlords would do him any favors.  so, right after dinner, he started on the route of his evening shift with a rake that had been broken into a makeshift staff in his hands, his only form of defense against whatever, or whoever, felt like ambushing him.

suddenly, as the clouds shifted over the moon, there was a cracking of sticks behind him.  he whipped around, eyes scanning for any moving shadows in the dim light, his grasp tight on his weapon.  “who’s there?” he called out.  “come on, no one likes to be snuck up on.”

&&.   she’s   sad   and   lonely   -   that’s   the   only   reason   why   she’s   out   that   night.   normally,   arwen’s   already   back   at   the   dorms,   hunkered   down   in   someone’s   room   and   watching   some   cheap   random   film   that   they   found   that   was   abandoned   by   someone   in   town.   but   having   found   both   alcohol   AND   a   tiny   bag   of   cocaine,   the   girl   was   off   her   rockers   again.   it’s   been   a   few   weeks   and   she   still   can’t   fathom   the   fact   that   they   were   left   alone,   abandoned.   the   thought   of   it   shook   her   to   her   core   and   arwen   feared   that   no   one   was   ever   going   to   come   search   for   them,   and   they   weren’t   ever   going   to   be   leaving   new   ham.

it’s   why   she   tripped,   cracking   a   few   sticks   under   her   feet   and   bumps   into   ATLAS   instead.   “oh,   shit   -”   she   tumbles,   falling   face   forward   and   on   to   her   knees.   that   was   going   to   hurt   tomorrow   morning,   wasn’t   it?   wincing,   she   pushed   herself   up   onto   her   feet.   “it’s   just   me.”   sticking   out   her   thumb,   arwen   gestures   to   herself,   attempting   to   give   him   a   charming   smile.   “how   ya   doin’?   it’s   a   swell   night,   isn’t   it?”

here   is   my   main   girl,   the   love   of   my   life   -   MARA.   she’s   a   cinnamon   roll   who   is   very,   very   human   and   i’ve   grown   to   love   mara   so   much   over   the   past   few   threads   and   plotting   sessions   i’ve   had.   here’s   the   task   for   this   week   and   for   you   (and   i)   to   get   to   know   her   a   little   bit   more.

what  does  your  muse  miss  most  about  west  ham  or  saltzman  university  ?

growing up, mara was always a daddy’s girl. being the youngest of two siblings, they often relied on their father to be their champion and savior, the only man they would ever truly love. even though she had her mother to guide her through the difficulties and mess her beloved father created for their family, it was mara’s dad that truly made her smile. so in short, mara misses their family - more specifically - their dad. 

what possession  has  your  muse  safeguarded during  this  time  ?  is  it  for  practical  or  sentimental  reasons  ?

even though they have their phone and have access to numerous amounts of photos in their home, mara safeguards the one family photo of them at myrtle beach. it’s one of the few that the liu’s look genuinely happy. before her father began his affairs and half the town disappeared. it’s mara’s form of motivation to continue forth in order to find a way to get back home.

what  has  been  the  greatest  challenge for  your  muse  since  the  factions  started  splitting  off  ?

mara’s greatest challenge right now is being a good leader for her own faction. due to the fact that faction two was formed out of a disagreement on how things should have been ran, they feel that they aren’t worthy of being the leader of faction one. a lot of doubt clouds their mind and they wants to clear them out of their brain good and for all. everything is currently internal, which over time, mara will overcome. 

if  your  muse  could  bring  in  someone  from  outside  ,  who  would  it  be  and  why  ? have  there  been  any  unexpected  consequences  stemming  from  the  choices  you’ve  made  regarding  the  factions  ?    can  be  both  good  &  bad  .  have  you  gained  or  lost anything  ?

if mara could bring someone from outside, it would be their cat, onyx, him being the only one mara could truly rely on outside of her family. so far, mara has been somewhat passive in regards to her leadership decisions. because of their negligence of setting “proper” rules within their group, mara feels that this is what caused the fires to happen in  the first place. mara believes that the main thing she lost from this is the possibility of having any sort of redemption loyalty (?) from the leader of faction two.

your  muse  is  given  the  opportunity  to  claim a  location  for  themselves  /  their  faction  ,  what location would  they  choose  &  why  ?

if given the opportunity, mara would choose the town hall, whether it be for themselves or for their faction. the town hall gives the faction exclusive access and details as to what could have possibly happened to have brought the entire group in the first place. this is the one place that mara would have been selfish in keeping to themselves.

how  far  has  your  muse  gone  for  their  faction’s beliefs ?  how  far  would  they  be willing  to  go  to  uphold  these  beliefs  ?

the moment the factions broke a part, this was  when mara held true to their beliefs as to how things were meant to be ran in new ham. they felt that this was their ultimate test - to give in and follow lucy’s want to keep everything to herself, continue harm when it’s unneeded, or stick to their own guns and maintain an equal society. mara still tries to uphold these beliefs of equality - a good version of you break it, you fix it. they still have to hold george responsible for the fires, and it’s something that mara is currently struggling with - let him get away with a simple punishment? or let him be punished in another, more cruel form instead.

If  your   muse  was  presented  with  the  opportunity  to  sabotage a  rival  faction  ,  would  they  take  it  ?  if  so  ,  what  area  would  your  muse  likely  attack  :  their  safety  ,  their  resources  ,  or  their  leadership  structure  ?  

mara would choose to sabotage the rival faction if that rival faction has done some sort of harm to faction one. but because mara is a bit of a pacifist, she wouldn’t choose to attack their safety (unless absolutely necessary), but rather their resources or leadership structure.

if  it  came  down  to  it  ,  would  your  muse  choose  their  own survival  over  that  of  their  faction’s  ?  if  your  muse  is  factionless  ,  would  they  risk their  continued  survival  if  it  meant  a  better  chance  for  others  ?

selfishly, mara would choose their own survival over their own faction. she was voted into her position and didn’t want it in the first place. mara is an introvert and prefers to be by themselves than having to deal with politics. but because she’s nervous of how things would turn out if there wasn’t any sort  of pacifism that exists, any sort of “equality” would cease to exist, thus, why she chooses to continue being the leader of faction one in the first place. 

who  is  your  muse  most loyal  to  ,  in  the  end  ?  why  ?

at the end of the day, no matter how much she wants to revoke her leadership because of being insecure about her leadership skills, mara will always be loyal to the group around her. without the group, she believes that they wouldn’t be able to get home. she believes that if there is no form of loyalty, they can’t figure it out. they all came here together and should go back together.

     𝚂𝙷𝙴  𝙳𝙾𝙴𝚂  𝙽𝙾𝚃  envy  their  leaders  .  to  paraphrase  spider  -  man  ,  the  people  with  the  power  have  the  greatest  responsibility  ,  after  all  .  fawn  is  content  with  her  minimal  power  ,  the  rush  that  comes  with  making  sure  that  everyone  has  the  right  amount  of  resources  .  that  is  all  she  needs  ;  she’d  be  discontent  with  more  .  she  bites  down  on  her  bottom  lip  as  she  studies  her  fearless  leader  before  she’s  looking  at  the  map  of  the  town  as  well  .  “  just  means  you’re  super  busy  ,  “  she  pacifies  ,  tapping  her  finger  against  the  library  .  “  i’m  here  ,  if  that  helps  with  anything  .  i  think  i  know  where  honey is  too  .  eloise  .  that’s  three  people  accounted  for  ?  “

&&.    gingerly,   mara   marks   the   map,   initialling   where   the   three   other   women   was.   it   relieved   some   tension   that   had   built   up   in   her   chest   -   fawn   was   right.   at   least   there   were   three   people   accounted   for.   but   now   for   the   rest...   mara   decided   to   forget   them   for   the   time   being.   “thank   you.”   mara   smiled.   however,   if   they   continued   to   focus   on   where   the   rest   of   the   people   were,   their   mind   would   burst.   “how   are   YOU   doing?”   they   asked   her.   “are   you   doing   alright?   i   feel   like   i   always   forget   to   ask   every   time   i   see   you.”
