the summer sun that shines so brightly in the sky burns your skin. you can feel it on your back and shoulders.

the faint sound of waves and the hot sand seperated from you by a beach towel. this is what summer is supposed to be like.

next to you is nicholas, he is scrolling on his phone. a small smile on his face, how adorable he could be sometimes.

you wondered how the two of you never talked before. he was the most dreamy boy in your eyes now that you have spent a few weeks with him.

nicholas turns to you, smiling. he asks you if there's something wrong. you shake your head and tell him there's nothing wrong.

"want to go swim?" he asks. he puts his phone under the towel and stands up.

you follow him to the water, eyes still fixated on him. you wish august would last forever. is this what summer love was like?

he splashes water at you before diving into the water.
