i think butters is great when he acts as cartmans loyal eunuch advisor and/or representative of the incel/alt right pipeline. and the parts where he represents childhood innocence are also pretty good its just its soured to me after the aforementioned incel/alt right pipeline characterisation

the ideal way for this to be handled imo is the opening scene is something like, the 10 y/o boys thinking about how they cant wait to be teenagers. and then it flashes forward a few years and the episode is about how their lives still suck, just in a different way. and kenny is suspiciously absent the whole episode and you think "oh its just bc they rarely remember kenny exists, he was probably in the background at some point and i just didnt notice" until the final 10 seconds of the episode, a girl (maybe with blonde hair. maybe shes still got an orange jacket and has her hood up but is clearly a girl still) joins the guys at the bus stop and stan says "oh hey kenny"

and then the next episode is still them as 13 y/os but its not ABOUT them being 13, its business as normal in south park from here on out, its just them being 13 is the new normal

look at my blog title and my pinned post. other than that? the kids move up to 5th grade. maybe even a time skip to middle school with appropriate design updates since every new character completely mogs the older models (just look at randys new outfit compared to when he went back to his main outfit in streaming wars)

they basically write the kids as teenagers (and often adults) anyway so i think them formally being slightly older would change very little except opening up the opportunity for more plotlines that would make sense for like... a 13 y/o but not a 10 y/o, yk?

Tbh I don't like any transmasc headcanons in South Park except for transmasc Wendyl😭

there have been times where people have made a decent case for transmasc kyle but in general........ with the type of show south park is, there is literally no way a trans 8 y/o would be allowed to live as the gender they want with ZERO pushback, or even just not commenting on it at all. if one of those characters was trans, youd fucking KNOW they were trans 😭 which is why transmasc wendyl is one that actually works, bc it doesnt rely on the premise of "in Bigotville Colorado, no one gave a fuck about the trans kids and allowed them to live as they wanted for 300+ episodes without outing them or bringing it up at all, even during the episodes about trans people"

like there are cases where "if this character was trans and people just didnt know, THIS part would be really funny" but in terms of genuine hcs... i just dont see it. i dont need every character i like to be trans if it doesnt make any sense for the character or narrative. and thats okay

transmasc kenny exists in the same alternate timeline universe as all pronouns cartman

ive said this before but "i use any pronouns thanks for asking" IS something hed say bc its part of a plot to get out of PE class for being trans so he cant take part in gendered sports, but the actual trans kid tries to befriend him so he keeps having to go along with it and eventually the government is involved while cartmans the face of the bill to let trans kids take part in sports which is the exact opposite of what cartman wanted and now people are using "xe/xeir" for him so he lost on both counts and he needs to call this off before he has to run a mile again. the trans kid is devastated

i could also see him being one of those cis people who say they "dont care what pronouns you use for me, im okay with whatever" bc theyve never had to deal with their gender identity being called into question and if someone actually used the wrong pronouns for them theyd get really uncomfortable. but i also think that is definitely 100% craig so cartman needs to buzz off
