funnily enough i even sent another copy of it to my good friend in france, kind of a full circle moment skjdksk (it's in russian though, and i always feel silly sending him books translated from original french, but he says he misses the language, so)

OH WOWW full circle moment indeed!! props to your friend and his longing aha perhaps not the easiest to translate.. im not far into it yet, ive picked it up after reading some works by maryse condé (and she wrote about having her world rocked by fanon and others like joseph zobel) anddd going through med hondo's filmography, especially his movie 'west indies ou les nègres marrons de la liberté' WHICH i vry vry much recommend if you haven't seen it already, it's a beautiful piece of 70s cinema
