The Reveal - Part One

I always said people are gonna want to strangle me when I finally got to how our heroes find out Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond all along.

If you could make an oc for each Diamond court what would they be?

Actually... I kinda already have.

First there's Star Sapphire, my off-color Sapphire Gem OC who has retrocognition (ability to see the past), only she can't control what she sees. She'd be in Blue's court. Technically.

And Olivine, my Era 1 Peridot Gem OC, who in Era 3 basically becomes a mad scientist who experiments on other Gems. She'd have been in Yellow's court.

And the Honey Agates I designed just to be redshirts in a Pearl showcase Switcheroo AU entry. Someone asked if they're Honey Agates and I stuck with it. They'd also have been in Yellow's court.

And of course some people would argue CG!Spinel is basically an OC at this point so there ya go.

so is the epilogue of on the run where the gems get to find out that spinel was made to be a toy?

Considering On The Run is a season 1 episode it wouldn't be revealed there. I tend to write the AU as if we don't know what Spinel's secret is, imagining how it might play out if it was the show's canon. So humor me there lol.

Besides Amethyst just told her to stop making it about her on the previous page. I think she'd be a bit wary of that now.

The Pearl comic, specifically where she's released once Era 3 rolls around, gave me a thought. If Pearl was simply poofed and reformed, wouldn't it be like Bismuth, where a few thousand years are just blank for her? Or was there some sort of torture before she was poofed again and imprisoned. OR or, a horrifying thought, Homeworld found a way to keep prisoners inside their Gemstones, like how Lapis was, so they can still see and feel things, but they can't do anything about it.

heyy!! i was reading the switcheroo comic’s on tapas again and i became a little confused about the timeline:

In the canon universe, when Pink died, the Diamonds immediately used your demage on eath. In the AU Spinel get out of the garden after she knew that Pink died, but Jasper mention that Spinel fight in the war.

Sooo, in your AU, The Diamond’s Final Attack happed really after Pink False Death? Because Spinel won’t turn a “monster” in the war just in a silly time, right?

Personally I don't feel the Diamond attack happened immediately after Pink's "shattering". I imagine it had to be reported and confirmed first and the Diamonds would have reacted in grief before deciding what to do. So there could easily have been a few years, even decades or more between Pink's "shattering" and the corruption wave. The war timeline is pretty vague in show (and has a major plothole if you take some characters at their word.)

I drew up this little timeline for the AU before, but these days I'm starting to think the "1,000 years" of war Pearl talks about is the time from the colony starting to the time the war ended, the war itself could have been a few centuries for all we know.
