Man, what a heartbreaking reality that Leia Organa, reluctant Force-sensitive, has the potential to be contacted from beyond the grave by the bio dad she never wanted to be associated with while the people who raised and loved her are forever silent because That's Just the Way Things Work with the Force or whatever.

Re-reading Gideon the Ninth and can't help but make it Stranger Things (based on vibes)
Spoilers for The Locked Tomb
Second House: Necro Joyce and Cav Hopper
Space cops. Close with the Third, Fourth, and Fifth houses.
Third House: Necro El and Cavs Max & Lucas
Personalities do not match their book counterparts AT ALL. But I like Elumax together, and everyone would think Max would be a necro too for how strong El is.
Fourth House: Necro Will and Cav Mike
Near inseparable. Fraternal relationship with the Fifth.
Fifth House: Necro Nancy and Cav Jonathan
Very parental-sibling like responsibility for the Fourth. Their strengths are historical research and asking the right questions.
Sixth House: Necro Dustin and Cav Robin
All brains, sass, and loyalty. Brutally efficient, and are the first to get the Ninth to open up. Alliances with the Ninth.
Seventh House: Necro Tommy and Cav Carol
I mean... this is practically my favorite stommy with jealous steddie trope I HAD to put it in here.
Eighth House: Necro Jason and Cav Billy
Self explanatory. Deep hatred of the Ninth. Religious zealots and bigots.
Ninth House: Necro Eddie and Cav Steve
Our main characters! Everyone thinks they're a cult. Difficult to get along with at first, but fiercely loyal and underestimated by the upper houses. Golden eyes and black eyes. Eddie knows puzzles and Steve knows people. Iconic weapons. Self-sacrificing. Extremely bitchy. One cannot die and the other becomes a monster who forgets who they are.
We do bones, motherfucker!

Coming across world hoppers in the cosmere is so funny because they'll be like "People here are so weird about women's hands. You should be normal about it, like me." But then they're like "Where I'm from we eat metal and worship a serial killer."

I just reread NtN and I am, of course, fixated on Kiriona’s misery. Specifically in the scene where Nona gets her birthday present from Pyrrha. She’s so alone, and it’s just so… sad. Gideon, the incredibly embodied girl, died, believed that the one she died for rejected her soul due to a lack of love, was reconstructed by her father into an unchanging, very dead body that presumably misses out on the pleasures of like, eating and working out and getting sore and sleeping and bathing in hot water, all things that we have seen Gideon greatly enjoy, is finally kissed by Not Harrow, who is actively dying, and now she’s just standing there while Pyrrha, her pseudo mother/almost pseudo father/mother’s lover/mother’s murderer kind of/almost Harrow’s murderer kind of, and Paul, one/two of the only people she could ever call a friend, are playing out a beautiful found family love tableau, that they have apparently been living out for the six months that she has been miserable and dead and making bracelets and secret handshakes with Ianthe. They’re comforting the girl who looks at her, kisses her, and doesn’t know her, and she’s just standing there, and no is is paying her the slightest bit of attention. None of them know where Harrow is, and none of these apparently very loving and comforting people are reaching out to comfort Gideon. Saddest girl in the universe:(

I'm about to start reading The Locked Tomb series... so here's what I know about it beforehand, since seeing a non-fan's idea of what something is about is always funny:
The main characters are Gideon, Harrow, and Nona. Are they all "the ninth"? The book titles seem to imply that. Ninth what?
They're necromancers
Also maybe nuns? There's some kind of religious aspect to it
God is a character. Or maybe he's a guy named John. I've heard "Jod", does this mean John-who-is-God or the ship of John/God?
They're in space, but this is not actually very important
I think it's Gideon and Nona who have a romantic relationship? But also they spend a significant amount of time apart
Is wearing skull face paint just a necromancer thing?
Side note: It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that the woman(?) on the cover is wearing sunglasses and those aren't just the skull's eye sockets
There's something called a lector I think. Is that a necromancer-nun?
A writing blog I read years ago critiqued the magic system where one of the characters seems to sacrifice herself or something at the climax of one book.
The overall vibe seems to be dark comedy, chaotic but with grounds for some deep analysis about religion and such.
Let's see what I got right and what I was totally wrong about!

A Sorrow Shared~ Adolin and Kaladin sharing in their grief after the storming of Kholinar. Non scene specific, just an idea I wanted to convey.
A very personal piece that i did when I was coping with my own loss. Adolin and Kaladin really embody the strength I needed the most during that time, and I'll always be forever grateful for these two. 💙
