Celebrate Puerto Rico’s culture with this handmade mini-Vejigante Wall Art. These masks represents each town of Puerto Rico. I designed them with the colors and symbols from the town’s flag. Not only is there pride for the island of Puerto Rico but also for the town itself. Over a hundred years ago the Vejigante tradition appeared during the Carnival Celebration held during the second week of February. People dressed up with colorful masks (typically with horns and teeth), cape and suit while they danced in celebration. This celebration brings together the influences of African, Spanish, and the Tainos into the Puerto Rican culture that is Borikén. I fell in love with the idea of making these masks for each town. With so many Puerto Ricans living outside of Puerto Rico, it’s nice to have lovely wall art hanging in their home. More to come as I work through the design for each town. I've been playing with Pixzle.me  I saw an awesome Halloween costume - Iron man recently.  Hmm, this would be awesome in 8 bit form, so I wiped our my pocket pixzle and made the face.  When I finished I really could see Iron man so I pulled out the pixzle petite and worked on it.   Wow, what a different when you go from 8 by 8 grid to a 16 by 16 grid.  I like the bigger version.  So now it hangs at my entrance door.  I think the trick-o-treater will get a kick out of seeing it. Thinking Halloween and get ready for it.

Finally got to this project.  Using (more like recycling) a table cloth as a cover to protect my washer from dust.  I even made a pocket to hold the items I use when washing cloths.   Pretty neat and colorful.

Painting = Peace

Recently, I've had forces pulling and pushing me, yet when I pick up a paint brush and stare at a empty canvas, it's like seeing flashes of moments cross right in front of me.  

Colors zooming from all directions.  

Feeling the heat and the cold. There's chaos.

It all melds into something, what?!? I'm not sure.  

It's a feeling that takes over and time ceases to exist.

And for a moment; in the midst of painting, there is Peace.
