Can we stop calling aromantic people selfish or heartless for not returning your romantic interest when they clearly stated from the beginning they were never going to, that they don't want a relationship and that it won't change. Especially not when you said you were fine with it and agreed to stay friends.

Friends are allowed to hang out and to be emotionally vulnerable and physically intimate. It doesn't mean they're changing their mind and are now suddenly leading you on because you caught feelings. You can't 'fix' them, and demonising and lashing out at them for it is not fucking ok. How entitled do you have to be... and why the fuck is intimacy only deemed acceptable or meaningful if it's romantic?!

It gets messier when it's a friends with benefits type situation. "Oh how can you possibly have sex with someone and not develop romantic feelings?? I know you're my friend and you clearly stated your boundaries beforehand, but you're heartless and clearly don't give a shit about my feelings or wellbeing!" Bonus if they're compared to an animal for experience sexual attraction but not romantic.

Sorry about the rant, but I just came across this tiktok on my fyp about situationships and that comment section was not it. Take responsibility for your own boundaries and stop being a cunt. No one owes you anything.
