An amnesiac high elf lost in the world of Tabeth knows only one thing: she loves the Archfey lord she made her pact with. (Side-blog for all things related to Sylrona Carthana, the D&D 5e character belonging to lilith-sahl.)

Finished off my Nevermore series of woodburned Raven pieces! They’re all available up on Etsy!
I loved doing these but I think it’s going to be awhile before I try to woodburn feathers again.

“Sylrona, Fey Queen”
Commision made by @lilith-sahl of her D&D character, Sylrona.
Here, have a bit of lore she gave me:
“ Sylrona Carthana is a 550-year-old high elf living in the world of Tabeth. (High elves in this world generally live up to 700 years old, so Sylrona is roughly the equivalent of a 60 year old woman, and she looks like it, too.) She is a warlock–unlike wizards, who get their magic from studying a lot, or sorcerers, who were born with magic from their bloodlines, warlocks get their magic from making pacts with otherworldly beings. In this case, Sylrona made her pact with an Unseelie Archfey (a fey lord or lady, with Unseelie being the Winter variety of fey) named To'rethaan, the Raven King.
When Sylrona was a child, she was neglected by her parents because, unlike typical high elf children from vaunted bloodlines, she wasn’t magically talented, and she was fairly average looking. Not long before her 50th birthday (the age of adulthood for high elves), she was taken by To'rethaan’s agents, who were ravenfolk (basically, humanoid ravens), and brought to To'rethaan’s Court in the Feywild. Sylrona then spent the next 450 years in To'rethaan’s service, becoming a warlock, and falling deeply in love with the Raven King. To'rethaan, however, never saw her as anything more than a servant and a socialite–she was very good at navigating fey politics (very, very difficult for a mortal to do) and she was incredibly willing to kill whoever he wanted dead, but she was just that.
One day, when Sylrona was about 500 years old, To'rethaan was killed by another fey named Haelirin. Haelirin confined To'rethaan’s immortal soul to a book that To'rethaan was particularly fond of. This created the Ravenstongue Tome. However, To'rethaan’s loyal subjects stole the Ravenstongue Tome away from Haelirin. The Tome has successfully managed to escape Haelirin’s grasp in the fifty years that followed that incident up to the present day of the campaign. Sylrona lost all of her memories from when she was taken all the way up to when To'rethaan was killed. She remembered only vague memories of her childhood, and that she made a Pact with a man that she loved, more than anything.
In the campaign, she’s recovered some of her memories, and has taken up residence as the party’s mentally tortured “grandma.” Sylrona hasn’t adjusted well to the material plane; she finds it dull and bound by arbitrary rules compared to the wild, colorful, and passionate plane of the Feywild. Originally her goal was to find To'rethaan again before she died, but she realized that she wanted far more than that. Events happened in the campaign and now Sylrona has been given the path to become an Archfey herself. In order to do so, she has to take 100,000 years of life essence from other living beings, possess 100,000 gold, and obtain the blessing of a god or goddess–as Archfey value youth, wealth, and power. The gold isn’t an issue, nor is the blessing–there’s a couple of gods that the group has gotten cozy with. The party is pretty uncomfortable by how much Sylrona really likes killing now, though–every bit of life essence she takes is that much closer to her goal. She wants to bring To'rethaan back and make him her consort as they rule their kingdom in the Feywild together. “
