In this art Inola is in Eywa'tsngal, the area of my fanclans. She is in the forest that is known for being almost always shrouded in fog.

My beautiful Savannah Na’vi inspired by the Himba (OvaHimba) tribe of Northern Namibia. I traded the stripes for a more cheetah like pattern.

Himba people, especially women, are famous for covering themselves with otjize paste, a cosmetic mixture of butterfat and ochre pigment. It helps to cleanse the skin and protect it from the hot and dry climate! The style of hair depicts womanhood. Often times the plaits of braids covering face in a veil like fashion will indicate a pubescent status, whereas women who wear an Erembe style show they’re no longer children

I'm back!

Hi guys! I hope you're doing great. I decided to post my humble sketches Oare🔥 and Aonung🌊. I know that I haven't posted anything for a long time, and you ask me, "Do you know when the next chapter" As the Ash Cloud Passes Over "will be released?".

I'll say this. @sandiavolo and I had a lot of things to do and problems to solve. For example, I just graduated from the first year of college yesterday (plus I work). It was exam time for our wonderful writer, too. So there wasn't enough time.

But! Now my schedule has become more overloaded, so I expect to appear here much more often with both the history of Ttrong and the Blue Sabbath project.

Please leave comments, they really help me deal with burnout. And also write warm words of support to @sandiavolo! God knows he really needs them!

Скажу так. У @sandiavolo и у меня было очень много дел и проблем. Например я только вчера закончила первый курс института (плюс я работаю). У нашего замечательного писателя тоже была пора экзаменов. Так что времени катастрофически не хватало.

Но! Сейчас мой график стал более разгружен, так что я рассчитываю появляться здесь гораздо чаще как с историей Ттронга так и с проектом "Синий шабаш".

Прошу оставлять комментарии, они очень помогают мне бороться с выгоранием. А так же напишите теплые слова поддержки @sandiavolo! Видит Бог, ему они очень нужны!

I like my 'lì'u game' meme-correlating game but it can get a little tediuous and also doesnt help too much with my vocab training lollll. Its more fun than anything. So to get better at my Na'vi vocab Ill do a 'word of the day' or 'lì'u fìtrrä'.

With this Ill pick a random word from one of the Na'vi dictionaries and try to make 2-5 sentences with them. I think that will be mor engaging for my memory and fun to conjure up. Maybe later when I have the motivation, Ill add an illustration to all the scenarios I create using a reblog.

I want to do a similar thing to this using grammar, idioms, and other features of the language to get a more intuitive feel for it, especially when speaking (my speaking has improved a lot!). So maybe ill pick a random chapter in Horen or any other community-made learning resource and make practice sentences using that. And, again, perhaps later draw a quick sketch for them.

I think this will be a fun idea :-)

With the introduction of the 'Mangkwan' and 'Windtraders' in Fire and Ash, and with the differences we already see between the Metkayina and Omatikaya Na'vi do yall think we'll be seeing more body types and proportions in the next film?

Personally I wish to see more. I dont necessarily wish the Na'vi were more relatable as aliens. Thats not my issue. They could have six legs and four eyes and be quadripedal and Id still empathize with their struggles. But since theyre designed to be so analogous with real humans and human history (colonialism, etc), it would be nicer to see them take on different shapes and sizes, just like humans pr any sapient species would be designed to have. Tbh they all seem to be the same proportions and weights, sans a few sexually dimorphic differences between population members.

Im aware that more nomadic or tribal communities that have actuve lifestyles and eat little to no processed foods would be more lean. But Ive seen indigenous peoples that live traditional lifestyles be all sorts of sizes, even broad and fat. It could just be that the Na'vi dont hold onto fat as much as humans and other Earth life, but I personally dont think thats a satisfactory design choice (afterall, none of this is real, so decisions on their design are deliberate). Id love to see more muscular and broad Na'vi. Even fat Na'vi were their fat distribution looks different from humans somehow (maybe the Na'vi store fat behind their necks or in their kuru or something lmfao). Id also like to see perhaps other Na'vi species? Maybe, like humans, theres still spme other species of Na'vi that look different abd have a lot of different features, like extra limbs or eyes. That would certainly make for interesting themes in any upcoming sequels.

What evolutionary adaptations and body maps do you hope to see within the next Na'vi populations we'll meet in the upcoming films and media?
