We would like to introduce our newest team member. Jolene Fellhauer is from the Whispering Pines Clinton Indian Band with 20 years of work experience in natural resource management.  She graduated from Thompson Rivers University with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Science with a focus on forestry and agriculture. Most of Jolene’s experience has been in forest development and planning which requires a strong knowledge of plant and tree identification, ecosystem classification, stream and wetland classification and invasive species identification and mitigation. She has conducted block development plans for immediate fibre needs as well as completing 5-, 10- and 20-year harvest plans.  Working with silviculture foresters she also completed planting and regeneration surveys, and collected data as required from permanent sample plots within proposed cut blocks and in designated forest management areas. Working for Licensees, Consultants and First Nations Groups has given her a unique understanding of all sides involved in natural resource development. Her experiences in planning, operations and silviculture provide a well-rounded understanding of forestry from planning through to planting.  She has also organized, trained, and supervised work crews, written and reviewed work contracts, managed budgets, and ensured that legislation, policies, and procedures governing all aspects of work have been followed. In the past, Jolene has helped to create successful forest and land management departments, trained, and built work crews that specialize in forestry and archaeology and has worked to secure multi-year first aid contracts for wildland fire fighting. Jolene works hard to bring awareness about Indigenous culture and to build more inclusive workplaces by sharing about Indigenous Culture and how modern colonial ways of life impact and often limit opportunities for Indigenous people to participate in the workplace.  #forestrylife #forestryarchaeology #firstnations #community #foresty #beautifulbc #northernbc https://www.instagram.com/p/Chu3IGgJunP/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
