Just to clarify, there's a bill that would STOP credit card companies from controlling who's allowed to spend money on porn or "risque" (read: queer) content. If you don't think big business should be able to tell you what to spend your own damn money on, call your senators and reps to let them know! It's the Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 in the House, S.410 in the Senate.

Critical PSA for anyone with Android devices!

I got the following email this morning:

Basically Google is rolling out the ability to track you via your android devices even when you're offline and you have to manually opt out of it. Many android devices no longer come with a wired headphone jack, so if you have Bluetooth headphones or a keyboard or anything, your location will be tracked and stored by your device unless you opt out of this.

I tried using the link they gave me in the email to opt out of it, but it didn't really seem to do anything. So I looked up how to opt out and found the following steps, which worked for my phone:

Opting out from the Find My Device network is as simple as tapping a toggle in your phone's settings. 1. On your Android device, go to Settings. 2. Tap the Google setting. 3. Tap the Find My Device setting. 4. Tap the toggle to off next to "Use Find My Device." 5. Confirm with pin, pattern, or biometrics. That's it. Your device is no longer participating in the Find My Device network. To rejoin, just flip the toggle back on.

Please reblog to spread awareness. My husband has the same phone as me and he didn't get any emails about this.

「Mmn, makes sense,」 to have the ability to store so much information, Mukuro almost wished she had that abilty since it would certainly be quite the asset to her job。 Granted, Mukuro's ability to retain and recall memories was good enough already, but it'd never hurt to be better。

「That's true, although I have a hard time believing what I do could be considered good by any means。」 Perhaps in the long run, since it's hard to say what some people would do in the future of course, and it's possible that the people Mukuro's taken care of could have done worse things were they alive, but then again maybe they could have done great?

「But it does give me some comfort, my darling, thank you~」 She adds and presses a soft kiss on his head。

Aight so, update.

So work got their heads out of their asses spectacularly quickly. This is like the one time they've ever acted so promptly in the 5 years I've been there. So good news, my job isn't quite so hectic and stressful at the moment.

Now my major annoyance is in my holiday schedule. Lots of hours to wade through. More money in my pocket I know, but still annoying.

So yeah, hiatus interruptus. Still not 100% but it's gotten a lot better really quickly.

Work is being a colossal mood-killer right now. I want to write and I want to be here and talk with my friends, but I am so infuriated right now that I know I will snap if one more thing goes wrong or annoys me just enough to make it happen.

I would rather avoid getting unnecessarily angry at people who did nothing wrong in this regard, so I'm just gonna go for the time being. I honestly don't know when I'll be back as any solution to these problems is on an unspecified date in the future. Could be tomorrow, could be in the new year basically.

So I'm pissed, and it won't be going away anytime soon.

If you absolutely must reach me, those with my discord know how to. In the meantime, don't poke the bear.

Alright so heads up, I've recently switched servers from Chrome to Opera GX. I'm happy with the change so far, but I've encountered a problem.

Xkit Rewritten isn't strictly available for Opera.

I can get the Chrome version but it's not working right. Not like it did on Chrome. I'm debating on if it's worth it just to use Chrome for Tumblr here and nothing else.

If anyone here is on Opera and has figured out a solution, kindly let me know. I can't edit my own posts and it's really an issue for RP stuff.

HOW TO MAKE THE FORCED 'TWITTER BOOTLEG' LAYOUT LOOK SLIGHTLY MORE TOLERABLE.

Yesterday, @changes made a seemingly innocuous comment about an 'experimental' layout. People who (semi rightfully) don't keep constant tabs on this blog were blindsided by the forced layout change, with no option to opt-out of it as of writing this post. While we wait for them to give us that option, or, more reasonably, wait for xkit to do some magic, here's two quick ways to make the dashboard less cluttered.

Use ublock / your current adblocker to block the create button. In my humble opinion, it's redundant as all of the post options are at the top of the dashboard, anyways. For ublock specifically, choose 'element picker', highlight the button, and click on it. Then click 'create' to get rid of it.

For radar & recommended blogs, if you don't mind parting with them, open new xkit's 'no recommended' add-on and click these two checkmarks.

After this, your dash should look something like this;

Again, it's best not to assume doomsday for the site. They haven't touched the post editor during this layout change which is the most important aspect to rp. These changes can be overwhelming however. Please be understanding of your fellow rper who may be disgruntled by these changes.

Also, if you want to send a message directly to staff for the feedback they apparently ask for so much, send one here under the 'feedback' tab. There's no word limit, so I explained to them in detail why tumblr losing it's identity and becoming a bootleg twitter is not what anyone on the site wants to see, and how these changes should be an opt-in scenario akin to tumblr labs.

Also, @wip has their askbox open on mondays from 6am-6pm EST. If the change hasn't been reverted or adjusted next monday, I recommend explaining your grievances there, as well.
