adding to the littles anon, I hear a lot of people saying things like "don't treat littles like kids, treat them how you'd treat anyone else" and while I agree in some cases, treat littles how they want to be treated. ask them. communicate. stop assuming every little wants to be treated like an adult because it can be really comforting for a lot of our littles to be treated their age. just ask them what they want!!!!!

system hot take: the infighting when it comes to labels and role definitions can be exhausting and feels so counter-productive to what many of the labels actually mean. someone feels most comfortable using parts language? cool! a persecutor prefers being called a protector? ok! it's literally not that big of a fucking deal! * note because unfortunately i feel like i have to say this even if i don't want to because this is TumblrTM, this DOESN'T INCLUDE hateful/bigoted/ableist/etc terms. putting this disclaimer bc i know a lot of people on tumblr read things in bad faith

Hot take but systems with PD’s (NPD, BPD, HPD, ASPD, STPD, etc) Are treated like SHIT by the system community as a whole and so many people need to take a look on how they treat systems with personality disorders, or people with personality disorders in general.

yeah.. as someone with NPD myself I cannot stand certain parts of this community that end up using us as insults or as synonyms for abusers.

yeahhh... That used to happen with us. Our friend used to play fucking guessing games on which new alters had shown up. It's horrible

Hot take also relating that other one I saw: i think it's okay for alters to date because of source and then realize they have a much deeper bond together beyond just being together in source

!! As long as the relationship develops further I don't see the problem. Of course it's a bit odd if they're only dating due to source but even then it's none of my business why and how others go about their relationships. As long as they're not hurting eachother

hot take in response to the “if you think youre faking” anon

if you think youre faking its always okay to reassess yourself. however. thinking youre faking and knowing youre faking are two different things. as you said, faking something is a conscious act, and the disorder doesnt like to be known. i think “i think im faking” thoughts can be a normal part of the disorder, because of denial of trauma, denial of even having the disorder, or just. being told its a fake disorder enough times. “i think im faking” doesnt have to be “oh im faking”

Hi, I wanted to find a blog to say one of my hot takes and I was wondering, is this blog dedicated to specific hot takes/opinions or anything?

Also what is the “endo” and “system” stuff in the tags?

im not going to explain this in detail because I've done it like 20 times and I'm tired, but to put it simply this isn't a general hottakes blog, it's specific to systems (those who have a disorder known as DID or OSDD). So unless you have that or know stuff about that your hottakes aren't going to be fit in here, apologies / not mean

probably a lukewarm take but ppl need to stop going into tags asking abt the basics of being a system (ESP if they are questioning) GIRLIE LOOK IT UP I PROMMY ITS FINE TO GOOGLE IT 😭

yeah.. we get a lot of people asking us stuff like this in our asks, like "what does this mean?" Or "do you think I'm a system?" And while we do understand the feeling of being confused and wanting others to answer for you I really wish they'd Google things. A lot of those questions are also ones we've answered like 50 times before, so it gets repetitive

(obviously don't just go for the first Google search if you are researching a disorder, use actual resources that are credible such as the DSM/ICD or case studies and to use more than one source too. Compare things, take notes, ect. If you're self diagnosing then do thorough research) /not at you anon

Not even a hot take. I'm 35, I've been diagnosed since 18 and diagnosed by multiple drs. But all these terms didn't exist back then so I'm still trying to learn what I go through.

I just learned what 'endos' were and I want to bring back bullying people. 😒😑

Oh, yeah— learning about endos for the first time was enraging. However we will say don't bring bullying back (because it's still here, and it doesn't help much /lh), just bring back proper education and respect. These people need to understand that faking a disorder is harmful and they need to respect actual systems when we say we don't want them in our spaces.
