"doing [insert thing (ie: not source separating, maladaptive coping mechanisms)] is anti recovery you can't do that!!!!!!" bro I'm not trying to get better right now I'm trying to make it to tomorrow. idk I'm tired so I'm probably not saying this right but. like. it's my mental illness why do I have to deal with it in a way that is palatable to you? can't I just exist without having to pour all of my effort into self improvement?

yeah, that's kind of my point ^_^ everyone deals with things in different ways. Not everyone wants to heal, not everyone would benefit from "professional help" or whatever. Some people are just trying to live their life, trying to survive, and that's okay. I hated the whole "*insert thing* is anti recovery" movement, at the end of the day whether or not someone "recovers" is not up to you, neither is how they recover. Forcing people to recover in order to prove themselves worthy to you is weird. People should just be allowed to exist, so long as they aren't hurting anyone

hot take, you don’t have to immediately start the healing process as soon as you find out you’re a system. Especially if you’re a minor. It’s okay to just ,, exist for awhile

Yup yup. Infact, dare I say it, you don't need to heal at all! While I definitely don't recommend it, and it is definitely good to heal, sometimes people just don't feel like they need to and even if you personally think they need it you can't force them too. People deserve to have the choice on whether or not they want to heal and I don't think it's fair to try force it on people

I'm unsure if I'm explaining this properly, so if people have questions on this take I might answer them, but basically I just mean people shouldn't be forced into healing. Even if they make it clear they never intend on starting up the healing process, you have no right to force them or to pressure them into it

Adding onto our last hot take (evil alter one)

We don’t support stereotypes at all! And yeah the word evil is a bit strong so mb for that 😓 we have multiple problematic alters that know what they’re doing and still choose to do it.

I’ve gotten fake claimed before for mentioning how we have some alters that purposely ruin our social life and do other things to sabotage us! (Including alters who make fake profiles to mess up our sense of how many alters we have…)

I don’t support the evil alter stereotype but I wish people would recognize that some systems have alters that are problematic on purpose

yeah, don't worry about it ^_^ I get what you mean though. We have some alters like that, and people seem to really struggle to understand that it's almost impossible to control them and that when they're asked to "DNI" they should do that. I'm so sorry that people have fakeclaimed you for that though! And we agree, people should be more aware of the reality of DID/OSDD. Not all alters are good, not all alters or persecutors are misunderstood, some are genuinely problematic and that's just the reality of it sometimes

YES he has The Classic god fucking awful "evil alter" trope but his alters are genuinely Whole Different People, with whole ass different accents, defining features, character traits, different styles- LIKE THEYRE ACTUALLY ALTERS. THOSE ARE JUST DIFFERENT PEOPLE. And i dont think ive ever seen a charcater with DID that has an alter with a whole different gender to everyone else??? Svetlana was fucking owning that shit, she was On Top thank you very much!! The triggers could have been better BUT THE FCAT THAT THEY HAVE TRIGGERS AT ALL????? FUCK!! MOST of them make sense, at LEAST 3 out of 5 of their triggers makes sense !! you cant expect every alter to like you. it DOSE NOT MATTER your relationship to the body/host or any alter. you can not expect to be compatible with every one and some people need to get over that.

YES!! alters are (usually) different, you cannot expect them to all have the same thoughts, opinions or feelings on a person or situation or anything at all really. While yes, sometimes they can share opinions and thoughts or such, things don't always work out that way, and while one alter likes you that doesn't mean the rest like you too

not every system knows, understands, or even has a headspace/innerworld, there are systems with brains that literally can't picture things in their head and also i feel like not enough people understand that a lot of systems don't even know they're a system and have no clue what a headspace/innerworld is nor can imagine having one, and none of that makes them fake. some systems have elaborate headspaces/innerworlds and some systems literally just don't

mhm! Personally we do struggle to picture things in our head, but we still technically have an innerworld. It's not technically there unless we want it to be and then it's more like... Reading a book? We can't see it, we just.. feel like we're reading from our mind, if that makes sense? Basically what I'm trying to say is that even systems who can't picture things in their heads can have innerworlds of sorts. Singlets can have them too, they're not really a system only thing. They're a bit hard to understand sometimes, some people have them, some don't, but yea

should littles be treated as children? I dunno, but if you asked your friend's little, she could tell you her boundaries

should fictives be treated as their source? I couldn't tell you, but if you ask our introject, he'd be happy to tell you how he prefers to be treated

honestly, yeah! We've been saying this for a long long time. When it comes to how you treat alters, be you a system yourself or a friend of one, you should always just ask the alter (or the system if you cannot speak to the alter themselves). I don't even think there's like, anything more to say about it, at the end of the day you should always be treating people in a way they want to be treated (nicely, most likely) and you should always be asking for boundaries (when applicable, obviously I don't expect you to ask a stranger for a list of boundaries or something, but still)

Secondly my sys ‘hot take’ is that some systems do genuinely have evil alters! “Evil alters don’t exist!!” I get the idea behind it but, such as ourselves, some systems have genuinely problematic alters…

i can agree with this sure, while I don't necessarily agree with spreading the stereotype itself I do understand that some alters are "evil" (we have some. We don't like to call them evil though, it seems a bit of a strong word since most of them are just traumatized and scared, but I understand that may not be the case for everyone). Basically what I mean is uh, hell yeah, just be careful what you say to uneducated singlets because god damn misinformation spreads fast (/hj , it's not your responsibility to educate random singlets or even singlets you know, of course)

adding to the littles anon, I hear a lot of people saying things like "don't treat littles like kids, treat them how you'd treat anyone else" and while I agree in some cases, treat littles how they want to be treated. ask them. communicate. stop assuming every little wants to be treated like an adult because it can be really comforting for a lot of our littles to be treated their age. just ask them what they want!!!!!
