One thing I wish more people understood is that the difficulties we have with DID are more from the trauma and the issues that has caused us than the "having multiple people in your head" does.

Which is why even though we are a DID system, the things we tend to post are less about specifically that and more about C-PTSD.

Once we are able to understand each other and what we need, be that space or love or attention or whatever specific reason a specific alter has formed, we are more able to help each other.

The biggest hurdles actually come from trying to cope with trauma in ways that aren't productive for us, sometimes actively destructive. Even if alters formed as a trauma response, I can't see them as only that when they often have voices of their own and individual wants and needs and hopes and dreams. Its like raising a child, sometimes.

With the disclaimer that I'm absolutely sure DID can be distressing to others in different ways, and I am not brushing off those who do have issues caused by having alters. It's a very versatile condition and can present difficulties in many different ways. I just wish there was some acknowledgement of alters not being the problem themselves, but the coping strategies the alters may use which cause the issues. I do beleive that DID and C-PTSD are two sides of the same coin, sometimes. I'm hoping that further research and understanding is made into the specific issues DID patients have with trauma and how it causes more harm than having multiple personalities that you switch between.

We are a DID system and this is just our blog where we post memes, images and other stuff we have saved and hoarded on our phone.

Posting is sporadic, we post whenever we feel like it, we try not to post the same thing twice but we may mess up. Tags are just how we personally view the meme and how it relates to our feelings and the things we're dealing with, and does not nessicarily exclude anyone who may feel it relates to them. We just want to share things.
