It seems like all of the resources I can easily find online for identifying wolves vs dogs are either massive and difficult to understand without prior knowledge of the subject, or extremely bare-bones and miss a lot of key information. I tried to hit a comfortable middle-ground. (sorry if itâs a little wordy) This tutorial is made as a reference for drawing, so everything but purely visual differences between dogs and wolves have been left out. Iâve been wanting to make this for a while now, so Iâm glad I finally sat down and did it! **EDIT** When it comes to the section on wolfdogs, please take it with a grain of salt. With something as complicated as genetics, they are of course, not going to be as simple as I make it seem. What features different levels of content can display, and even which percentages designate which levels of content are often hotly debated within the wolfdog community. At this point Iâve elected not to change the image set itself because: a. itâs a huge pain in the ass b. this is a tutorial for beginning artists. Itâs meant to be a hugely simplified version of the topic, and Iâve stated clearly that it is NOT to be used in real-world identification. ((Huge thanks to yourdogisnotawolf. whoâs blog inspired me to make this and for digging up that amazing picture of the wolf/lab mix))

i think the saddest answer is ford learned to control his fear when he was still living at home. "men are rational and women are emotional" was just the truth back in the 60s, so i can see ford (who is naturally sensitive and kind, and who was struggling to cope with a lot of social pressure) wanting to double down on "rationality" as a way to stay off his father's radar.
"my father scares me ; he gets madder if i look weak : my father is proud of me for my intellect ; he will be happy if i stay rational." so just breathe and focus on your intellect.
unlike stan, who is also naturally emotional, but where ford internalizes stan externalizes. stan lashes out, he acts out, he stands up for himself whenever he can, as best he can. ford watching filbrick and stan go round and round while he tries to dissolve into the wallpaper.
like i said, breathing skills are the first thing we teach for controlling the fight-flight response, ford IS coping well, it's just that how he understands it needs some work.
ford in a very unstable household, being bullied all the time, over working himself to prove he deserves a place in society, constantly battling with his sympathetic nervous system until he gets so good at it that when he goes 1:1 with bill his first response is "he may be a god, but im a scientist"
this being may be more powerful than me, he may be trying to terrorize me into submission, but it wont work because i'm smarter than him
Oh you're absolutely right. All of this.
The desire to be rational is definitely a trauma response from growing up in a fighting household, especially if you're not the one being directly attacked like Stan, but rather, the one being asked to take sides. The one that has to be 'mature' even as a child. It can make you extremely adverse to conflict, but also disgusted by it.
Ooughg and can clearly see how that, while also being the 'gifted child', affected ford's adult personality:
He's prideful because of that need to be 'above it all', to be better than the fighting people around him.
He's independent because people have always been trying to influence him, rely on him, to bring him to their side. And it's controlling, suffocating. That's in contrast to Stan, who's needy because people always rejected him.
He's reckless because he doesn't engage with fear and that prevents him from effectively determining how dangerous situations are.
He's naive because he refuses to engage with any complicated emotions leaving him really inexperienced.
He's a people pleaser, a praise seeker. Keeping people happy means he's doing 'his job', it means he's worth something.
He's vindictive, reacting to Stan, fidd, and bill betraying him with very visceral disgust and anger. One of the few things he fears irrationally is conflict itself.
I'm not even gonna go into the gender roles of the 1960s that ford very obviously doesn't fit into although he tries desperately to. Trust me I could write a whole essay about that one. I could write about ford forever honestly.

In a moment, my world was gone
a/n: INSPIRED BY AVENGERS DOOMSDAY TWITTER SPECULATION, MAY BE PART OF THE FILM!!
Relationships: Bucky Barnes/Sam Wilson, Yelena Belova & Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes & Yelena Belova
Characters: Sam Wilson, Yelena Belova, mentioned Bucky Barnes
Word count: 1,609
Another disgustingly cramped alleyway in Madripoor.
âYou shouldnât be hereâ, he says slowing down, the most isolated place he could find. He doesnât want to risk his recruitment plan, but being followed by an ex-Widow puts him in the same predicament.
âCould say the sameâ, she had been tailing the Captain for a while, but with the acknowledgment she doesnât bother to keep up the distance.
âWhatever you and Buckyâs group have to discuss with me can and will waitâ, picking up the pace to end the discussion.
Yelena stops walking, the weight on her shoulders getting heavier at his name. The team had completely stopped saying it by now.Â
In the most fragile voice Sam has heard come from her.Â
âI wouldnât know what he wants to talk about because I donât know where he isâ, her voice cracks at the end of the sentence.
One of the most skillfully trained assassins from the age six. The most sarcastic and witty woman Sam has met, is so scared and overwhelmedâŚshe cannot hide that from him.
Sam can no longer hear the violent noise of madripoor, freezes up completely, his heart the only part of him moving, but it feels like that also stills.
âYelena. Explain.â He turns to face her, body tight, cannot afford to start shaking.Â
Her eyes are vulnerable, blurred by tears, unshed, her mouth downturn.Â
âI donât know. Someone took himâŚI-I donât think we can get him back, Samâ, she lowers her head, letting the tears directly fall on the pavement.Â
He walks over to her, hands on her shoulders. He dedicates his strength to one man, it always had been.Â
âTell me what you know.â Her back straightens, head lifts, drives her emotions as far as she can. She was given an order, âstatus reportâ, that she knows how to do.Â
âIt happened near midnight, we were in the tower. He and I had just come back, the team was waiting to debrief with us. It- it happened too quickly, I told Bob to find the file, Ava was near the bar, John was with h-herââ, she starting flubbing her words, speaking too fast.Â
She is grateful for the work sheâs done to shed the Red Room, but it would still be useful in these moments.Â
âBreathe. Focus. Where was he?â, looking directly at her.Â
He knew his voice cracked. He also knew saying his nameâŚwas not something he could do right now.Â
âHe likes to stare out the window when we finish a mission, he says it helps him remember better. I think it grounds him⌠I looked over, and then this rift of energy opened infront of him, it sent waves through the whole compound. It knocked me backâ and he was gone.â
She couldnât reach him, go with him. The same helplessness from Natasha came back to her with a vengence.Â
âHave you seen Strangeâs portals? Did it look like that?â, Captain America, officially on a mission.
âNoâ Sam this was different. Iâve never seen anything like it. All I could see was green and then his empty spotâ, every moment of respite shes had, she revisited those last seconds, trying to think of something that could help.
âFuck. Okay- WeâŚwe can figure this out. Iâll call Shuri. I read on Wandaâs file that S.W.O.R.D tracked Visionâs vibranium. If they can do it, Iâm sureââ, he looked away, eyes scanning the world around him.Â
He was formulating planâs A through Infinity, because the last time they spoke was in anger, and that is not who they were.
âSamâŚâ, she had gone through every thought he was. They didnât matter and she knew that.Â
Now, it was her responsibility to break that to the only person she knew loved him more than her, than the team.Â
Who had barely heard he was in danger and stepped up to the mission.Â
That had also been her reaction, soon to be 24 hours ago, and sheâs tired, only willing to partly fall apart because it was someone who understood what she was going through, leader of his own team.Â
Maybe they loved him the same amount⌠just differently.Â
As evenly as possible she started, âWe canât track himââ.
âWeâll find him a different way!â, that never give up Captain America, attitude, but she needed to talk to the man behind the title right now.Â
The one person who would be willing to scream at her, hold her accountable for not protecting him.Â
It wouldn't happen, Sam is a good man. He could scream at her over copyright, never over something like this.Â
It was her turn to be strong now. Her moment of weakness needed to be over, she was the only one who truly knew how fucked they were. Every second they werenât on the same page meant lowering the chances of finding him, alive orâŚever.Â
âI need you to listen. Valentina had access to some confiscated Stark tech. We analysed the energy output left behind by the riftââ, she was trying to catch his eye to get him to listen.Â
âDid it take him interplanetary?â, he could talk to Quill and beg him to contact the Guardians or any intergalactic ally they had.Â
âSAM!â,she had planned to be more tactful, sometimes you need to adapt, âHe doesnât exist anymore!â, slapping him with the gravity of the situation.
At least got him to look her in the eyes.Â
They watered, stinging him, tears reflecting their memories.Â
The two of them fixing the boat.Â
Playing with Cass and AJ.Â
On the run with Steve.Â
In their Louisiana apartment.Â
Your life flashes before you die doesnât it?Â
He only lived when he was with him. If he wasnât thereâŚ
He couldnât cry, the memories would leave his sight.Â
Samâs overthinking brain was assuming, he was aware, and it was a possibility he would not consider, even if his body did for a second.Â
â...What do you mean?â, he whispered.Â
âSomeone out there, whoever opened the rift has enough power that the radiation they emit can be traced to The Big Bang, just notâŚours. They are using the equivalent of entire universes worth of powerââÂ
âTo the pointâŚpleaseâ, begging for a clear answer.Â
She took a deep breath.Â
âHe doesnât exist in this timeline anymore. They were able to rip him right out. And we have no clue why they would want toâ, defeat in her voice.Â
Sam wobbled on his feet.Â
The same sensation from Rileyâs fall, except this time, he was on the ground.Â
There was a moment of silence between them.Â
Finally understanding one another.Â
Sam wouldnât have imagined being on âneutralâ terms with Yelena, five minutes ago. Quite literally being in Madripoor to recruit for his team.Â
But now he is shaking, crying in front of her, accepting her embrace, and hugging her increadibly tight.Â
If he didn't he would float away.Â
The centre of his universe, the gravity that made sure his wings would always bring him back down is gone.Â
The last words he said to him reverberated in his brain, making him more unsteady.Â
They should have been âI love youâsâ, because no matter how angry they were with each other, they were going to make their way back together.Â
Sarah compared them to magnets. You could try your hardest hold them apart, but as soon as your hands falter or tire, they come back together.Â
They were both waiting their time out, before they came back together. Waiting off the anger. Waiting for it to turn into longing so they could work things out.Â
Whatever took him away. They were wise enough to escape to somewhere in the multiverse.Â
It knew Sam would destroy his universe to find Bucky.Â
He pulled away from her, âJoaquin is right outside the city, you can go to him now, tell him to call Banner. Iâll be a few minutes, lord knows we need as many people as possible and I came here for someoneâ, he said as he wiped his tears.Â
Yelena was a little worried and impressed at how quickly he seemed to be gathering himself.Â
âThen we are headed to Louisiana to talk to Danvers. How stable is Bob? Capable of becoming the Sentry?â, he was spewing every thought coming through.Â
âNo, but Iâm sure he can help. So can the rest of the team we are all willing to do anything to get him backâ, she had left them contacting anyone they could, âmany worldsâ theorists, the sorcerer supreme, truly anyone of use.Â
She knew Sam could gather the bigger team they needed to fight whoever had taken Bucky, but she also knew they needed a way to get them to him.Â
There was a chance they would never make it or if they did it would be too late.Â
But both of these people need Bucky in their lives.Â
Yelena was the leader of their found family but she was completely new, always relying on Buckyâs veteran experience. He was the one keeping them together.Â
Sam always talked to Bucky about his doubts, the pressures. They are each others anchors to the present and their futures.Â
Yelena wanted to bother Bucky by calling him old and grumpy, wanted to be in the tower, bickering with her family as they filed boring paperwork.Â
Sam wanted to be back in Delacroix, hearing his nephews call Bucky âUncleâ, watch him bake with his sister.Â
But they are in the disgusting streets of Madripoor, in a claustrophobic alley way.Â
Without Bucky.Â
All they could do now, was rectify that.
a/n: I like the title because it could be from Sam, Yelena, or Bucky's perspective. Also if any part of what i'm yapping about comes true ill tweak

Writing Tips
Punctuating Dialogue
â§
⸠âThis is a sentence.â
⸠âThis is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,â she said.
⸠âThis,â he said, âis a sentence split by a dialogue tag.â
⸠âThis is a sentence,â she said. âThis is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.â
⸠âThis is a sentence followed by an action.â He stood. âThey are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.â
⸠She said, âUse a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.â
⸠âUse a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,â he said.
âUnless there is a question mark?â she asked.
âOr an exclamation point!â he answered. âThe dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because itâs not truly the end of the sentence.â
⸠âPeriods and commas should be inside closing quotations.â
⸠âHey!â she shouted, âSometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.â
However, if itâs not dialogue exclamation points can also be âoutsideâ!
⸠âDoes this apply to question marks too?â he asked.
If itâs not dialogue, can question marks be âoutsideâ? (Yes, they can.)
⸠âThis applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically expressââ
âInterruptionâ â but there are situations dashes may be outside.
⸠âYouâll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses donât have a comma after them eitherâŚâ she said.
⸠âMy teacher said, âUse single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.ââ
⸠âUse paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,â he said.
âThe readers will know itâs someone else speaking.â
⸠âIf itâs the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.
âThis shows itâs the same character continuing to speak.â
