The Matrix of Connection: A Study in Vulnerability, Choice, and Human Behavior
Human connection is a labyrinth. Behind every greeting, every shared laugh, every deep conversation, lies a complex interplay of intent, emotion, and self-preservation. People don’t just show up as they are, they show up as who they choose to be, consciously or not. And while the goal is often the same “connection”, the paths people take to get there? Vastly different. Some lead with…

The Pretty Privilege
The pretty privilege they call it, sprung up from years of attested proof that good-looking men and women benefit in various settings from their physical appearance. A fate bestowed upon some without consent as a result of their parent’s genetics. While there are certainly perks of being attractive, there are also long-term consequences that can result from this privilege. Let’s call them PPP…

Dating Scene in the Mud!
The dating scene is in the mud! Everyone avoids being vulnerable and taken for granted. It’s almost as if people detest when treated right. A bitter-sweet relationship with toxicity and being disregarded is the new cool. Every human behavior and trait can be traced to a trauma response when triggered. But how does kindness trigger a self-sabotaging reaction? What level of abuse does one…

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T DATE 30 PLUS MEN
WHY YOU SHOULDN’T DATE 30 PLUS MEN
30 Plus Men lol. The species with an unchangeable mindset are so stuck in their ways. The thought of Self-growth inflicts unbearable pain to some. You either get the extreme of each end (Good or Bad) and no in-between, no grey areas. A case study, to begin with, it’s understandable when you see life for what you think it is and draw a conclusion, but life brings changes, and changes are…

LOCKDOWN SAGA

It all started around mid-march 2020 when we first heard the breaking news that a virus named COVID 19 Aka the novel Coronavirus had attacked the world named Coronavirus AKA COVID 19. A group of powerful and influential people tried to depopulate the world and blame it on the new Virus, which they created for that sole purpose. At least it helped to enhance some people’s hygiene, while some lost…

Back again with another adventurous travel story and today, I will be sharing about my experience at Global village.

Stayed at Ajman which is a bit of a distance, for those of u who aren’t familiar, the United Arab Emirates consists of 7 independent states, now imagine driving from Ibadan to Lagos on a Friday. Obviously, everyone is in a hurry to get to the center of excellence, that was the case here.
My family friend and I took a cab to the bus station and here’s where the story gets interesting, I found out that men and women have different sections on the bus and there is a section for family members that allows men and women sit together. A couple was sent out from the bus for sitting together and lying that they were family. Dubai indeed is a funny city but I love the fact that women are respected and security is top-notch.
Moving forward, we arrived and paid AED 15 equivalent to N1,500 as the gate fee. So here’s a brief summary of Global Village; it is located on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road Dubai, it combines cultures of 90 countries across the world in a location showcasing each culture and the products they produce, which are sold to tourists.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Our first stop was Turkey, I noticed some men stares which I avoided, met one who suggested we go on a coffee date lol bruh.. coffee is not my problem sweetheart, safe to say he was curved lol.

We visited almost all the countries, I tried so hard not to buy at each stop cos I wasn’t trying to trek home lol. We had sweetcorn mixed with salt, lemon, and butter in a cup which tasted lovely. After walking for hours and maltreating our legs, we decided to get food and spotted the floating market which is a beautiful concept of boats-like food stores floating together on water. We ordered extra spicy noodles, the pepper was missing in action which got me irritated, it tasted like it was dipped in honey-coat, the only saving grace was the lime which made it edible.
There were various shows, fireworks, and music which was satisfying to witness and left me feeling happy, not only did I learn new cultures but I shopped without trekking home lol.
Now here’s where the highlight of the story begins, my family friend once told me how the Philippines act, it was observed that they act superior to blacks and try every possible way to show it. Tbh I noticed most of the retail stores and eateries had more Philippines staff but I still had a bit of doubt about this ongoing theory.

Fast forward, on our way back home at the bus station, there was a long queue, we decided to walk to the front and ask where the bus was headed to. And under 2 seconds everything burst, a Philippine girl came out of nowhere and told us we should get back to the queue like sweetie are u good? Firstly, this isn’t your country and the locals didn’t complain so who gave u the bragging right to? This is where things got heated, one of the locals took it upon himself to fight our battle, he confronted her and told her that she was rude and she has no right to say that, poor phillipino was in shame and was quiet. He went to the extent of following her inside the bus to continue with the confrontation, we later found out it was the wrong bus so we left. I realize then that the Philippines indeed feel they are superior lol how absurd is that thinking faculty, but I’ll leave it at that.

Overall it was a fun experience for me, from the beginning of the journey to the drama at the end which was the icing on the cake. I suggest you pay a visit to Global village around late October, by then the anticipated Dubai Expo 2020 will be in progress and it will be worth the fun. Thanks for the read.

REALITY OF ABUJA.
Made a post on my moving to abuja and I just realised I never did a follow up of how live has been after the move, which brings me to my current post.
Moving to Abuja with the family was a bold step I took, which felt like a mistake at that time but I have come to the realisation that it was indeed the best decision I made.
Prio to my previous post, I complained about the lackadaisical attitude…

MY RETURN TO ABUJA (FIRST IMPRESSION).

It had been 2 weeks since I heard the news that I would be moving to Abuja with my family. I had so many friends to inform about the new upcoming change but I had…

PRIDE OF THE NATION: AN INTROSPECTIVE AUDIT OF THE NIGERIAN LIFE. by Fela Adeg

I had meticulously planned my trip to Nigeria, to the finest detail. I wanted to ensure that there were no glitches and that I fully took in the experience of my pilgrimage back to my home country. I remember writing in a book report back in high school that “in Africa I felt human and in America I felt African”. Well, with the exception of a one week visit in 2015 for urgent family matters, it…
