i've watched this new season twice already it's peak i fear... like the original is great obv but the characters in s2 r sooo good . s1 i only gaf abt the Main Three but now we have like 8 diff characters i actually love

plus the GAMESSSS . can u tell i'm a mingle bias... the games this season r so much more intense - a team game that forces you to make connections with strangers in order to survive, just for the next game to use those connections to force u to choose between your friends who'll live and die... and we aren't even on the 4th game i'm Scared

unpopular opinion but i don't really care abt the old man yaoi between gihun and inho like i'm still not recovered from gihun/sangwoo how am i meant to move on . thanos/minsu/namgyu & hyunju/youngmi r superior 2 Me... minsu crept into my Heart i love when a man is pathetic and docile💜pls don't die early queen... he reminds me of dabeom from night has come which makes me a Little Nervous about what they're gonna do with his character iykyk

screaming into the void with these two cause why does nobody like this game... hellooo safi is in it . automatic 10/10 to ME!!

the place where he inserted the blade being a song about the trauma we bring from our past into our future and current relationships . max still shellshocked from arcadia bay, physically far away yet unable to leave it for a single second . safi still reeling from the loss of her soulmate, her sister . confronted with the fact that everybody she loves and trusted played a part in it, that her power hadn't helped her one iota, hadn't saved maya or her legacy . their relationship fracturing because of all these secrets .

but then max agrees to wait for safi to do god knows what . so distinctly different from max's usual reaction, to run away and ghost everyone . nooo she's Waiting for Safi . sacrificing that one coping mechanism she has, because above all else she wants her best friend, who pulled her in and gave her community, acceptance, Understanding, to be Okay . to Come back to her . "show me where to tie the other end of this chain" oohgifdlfkjhgj ok

this game man . omg

max is always getting into situationships i love that girl . i love this GAME!!! SAFI LLEWELLYN-FAYYAD!!! what a character. what an ending. omg. i cant get over it

max coming face to face with the storm that's haunted her for years and choosing to run right into it, for SAFI, who submerges herself into everyone else so much so she doesn't know where they end and she begins . the only real emotion she can identify as hers is anger: at her mother who kept her away from her father, at gwen for silencing her, at lucas for his hand in maya's death . she spends the whole game trying to get back at them, exploiting their weak points and destroying their lives like they destroyed maya's.

yet none of it quietens that resentment, it just builds and builds until she eventually shatters, pieces lodged into every available victim . and max is there to put her back together again, to rebuild her, because she's the only person safi trusts, the only person safi could ever relate to.

crazy ass yuri guys where's the next game .

came home from a 13hr night shift and made this edit half asleep because nothing is more important than the Hyperfix

billy fully believing that he's protecting max is always gonna kill me . he views his harsh treatment towards her as a necessary evil to keep her out of neil's line of sight - "you're lucky i'm around to watch out for you. remember that." - and tries time and time again to mould her into someone like himself . because, to billy, he wants max to be well prepared for neil, a luxury he lacked . "he went out of his way to make me just like him. any hint of softness and he would never let me forget it."

dacre montgomery saying that billy "really loves his little sister" but "hates where he is" yea get him on the writing team Now he's cooking

their potential just kills me . max and billy's inability to understand each other until it's too late: until billy's throwing himself once again into danger's line of sight to protect max, and max is left clutching at her brother's shoulders and wishing desperately that she had ran to him and pulled him away .

it reminds me so much of the scene in runaway max where neil beats billy, and max held her breath and waited. "i knew, in a deep unhappy way, that this was wrong. i just didn't know how to stop it." max sitting with her hands clasped, fingers locked together like they were about to say grace, when witnessing the extent of neil's cruelty; and her telling billy's grave that she imagined them like a real brother and sister, had she not "stood there and watched", which could very well apply to billy vs the mind flayer, but also billy vs neil generally .

max blaming herself for all of it, when billy would've never accepted her help to begin with........ SICKKKKK . billy watching the end of his father's belt with a resigned look, a helpless mix of fear and fury.... he wouldn't ever risk accepting help from anybody, let alone the very person he's trying to save from this abuse, because it opens him up to disappointment all over again .

who's up thinking abt the tragic siblingism of max and billy 5 years later...

they've been rotating around my head for a solid two years now and i have literally nobody to talk to abt them so here i am

it's the fact they never got a chance to talk anything out . that max has to remember billy for longer than she'd known him . that billy wanted to protect max from his own monster, unknowingly pushing her away into the arms of Actual Real Life monsters .

"i was getting a brother, and it was going to change my life." whew boy idk if she meant like That guys....

nobody think abt how the only time max and billy truly talked was billy begging max to forgive him for the horrible things he was forced to do . and max sincerely believing that they could save him, telling him it was going to be okay, because maybe she had thought of him as a monster before, but face to face with him now - she realised he was human in every way it mattered, and loving him was possible . SICKKKK
