25. Is there something traumatic from your character’s past that greatly affects them even to this day?

“I’d like to know who the hell has managed to live thislong without something rough in their past that turns them inside out from timeto time.” The hunter’s hand comes to rest between the ears of the tallwolf at his side and he gives a gentle rub as he speaks, perhaps obviously morefor his own comfort than that of Secondshadow. “I got a list. Lost a lotof family when the Scourge came. The man I loved and I had a falling out notlong after that an’ never spoke again. He’s gone now too, far as I know. Lostmy lynx, Brightspark, and a bunch of comrades in a mess up in Kun Lai where Igot bad wounded. There’s more than that and more detail in all that that Idon’t care to go into. Don’t let it make me fall apart, but I got bad nightsnow and then, same as most everybody I suspect.”

TMI tuesday~ Make a list of things that would make Basil blush.

Taelathin chuckles. “Well, it might be a shorterproject to make a list of things that wouldn’t make Basil blush. I’m not surejust what kind of things you’re looking for here. But he blushes a little whenI growl for some reason. And when we kiss, and when I flirt with him, or tellhim even a snippet or two of what I might like to do beyond flirting if he wasready and willing. He blushes when I take my clothes off. He blushes when Isuggest he ought to take his off. He turns a nice shade of pink when I tell himhe’s beautiful. It’s not hard to make Basil blush, really. I missed one of the headcanons for Taelathin! Sorry @healingonaprayer but here it is now!

 Question :: How often do they feel doubt? What topics are they defensive about?

 Taelathin doesn't feel a lot of doubt, really. For the most part he's a very confident and secure person. He's got faith in himself and his strength and in the abilities he's honed and is quite comfortable in that. Sometimes he doubts a little with people he cares about a lot, worrying that he's reading them right or handling their emotions right, but even then he's good at taking cues so real concern doesn't arise that often. The only other thing he feels doubt about is that once in a great while he gets strange flashes. He once saw someone he doesn't think was actually there. He worries a little about his mind playing tricks on him because of it from time to time. 

He might get a bit defensive over someone doubting his abilities, though in most cases then he'd just feel inclined to prove them wrong, rather than saying much. Aside from that most of his defensiveness is for others. There would be a great deal of defensive anger if someone criticized one of his friends (the two-legged or four-legged sort) and Basil is a very sensitive topic he'll thank you to speak kindly on.

 Escape :: What do theydo to destress? How successful is it?

 Taelathin’s got any number of ways of dealing with stress sowhat he chooses mainly depends on what sort of stress it was. Loss and heavypersonal blows find him drinking and seeking companionship. Too much stressfrom interpersonal dealings will see him retreating to the forest with Secondshadowfor some time to just be and find his center. He’s very good at managing hisstress, really, and for the most part the methods he chooses work very well.

 Grudge :: How bad doesan insult go over? Do they hold a grudge long?

 Taelathin’s a very easy-going person a great deal of thetime. Both when it comes to stress and when it comes to temper.  How an insult goes over really depends onwhat it was, who was insulted, and his mood at the time. On a good day he’llfrequently just laugh a personal insult off, but catch him when he’s having arough time or has been drinking, or insult someone he cares for rather thanhimself, and that’s another story. He’s been in a few bar fights over insults.Grudges really depend too. Most of the time Taelathin’s anger fits a redheadnamed Firehawk, it’s a white hot flash and then it’s over. But there are a fewthings that will settle into a bone-deep grudge. Hurting his family or a lovedone is a good way to earn yourself his enmity for life.

 Vaelanys:

 Touch :: How do theyhandle contact? Is their personal bubble big?

 Vaelanys isn’t accustomed to a great deal of casual contact.He doesn’t particularly flinch from it, but he finds touches beyond handshakes ofgreeting and the occasional shoulder pat to be rather forward from casualacquaintances. The better he knows a person the more likely he is to tolerateand even welcome touch. His personal bubble is not necessarily large, but itcan be rather rigid, if he is not well-acquainted. He is very uncomfortablewith pressing in on him too closely for long periods of time. With someone heis close and intimate with however he craves a certain amount of touch andcloseness.

 Offspring :: What kindof parent would they be? Would they prefer one, or multiple?

 Vaelanys would be an excellent parent, he is kind, gentle,and patient, but not incapable of sticking to and enforcing hard rules. Hewould be a loving parent who would take delight in teaching and learning with ayoungster, as well as sometimes spoiling them with toys and treats. He hasnever really put a great deal of thought into what his preferences would be asa parent however as he has never expected to sire any offspring, despiteknowing it was expected of him. He would likely prefer one or two childrenrather than any greater number.

 Kieryl:

 Yack :: What’s theirfavorite thing to talk about? What do they go on about?

 Kieryl doesn’t really have one specific favorite thing totalk about. It all depends on the  moodyou catch him in. He’s fairly clever and occasionally takes a great deal ofinterest in some topic or another, and if you catch him in one of those moodsand ask the right question you might be surprised by the amount of words youcan get from him. He’s always fond of cloud serpents and coffee. And if you cancatch him in the right mood you can get him to go on about stories of hisexperiences, whether they’re his rather questionable tales of his childhood orhis experiences since joining the Lynxes.

 Escape :: What do theydo to destress? How successful is it?

 Kieryl and stress is a complicated thing. His methods ofhandling it have changed a fair bit over the last year or so. He used to handleit mostly with mischief and finding a laugh to share with companions. But afterthe losses Damarianth’s Lynxes suffered at the portal he stopped doing so muchmischief. A lot of his emotions now get redirected into anger which he handleswith wild outbursts of temper. He yells, sometimes he throws things or ifprovoked hits people. Drinking to excess is a technique he also sometimes uses,but lately finding someone who handles his temper and his outbursts and offershim a much more pleasant outlet for the build up has been very good for him andfar more successful than any amount of snarling.

Random Worg/Draenor Wolf Headcanons & Musings

[[ I couldn’t sleep so I was musing some thoughts and headcanons about Draenor Worg/Wolves (basically Orcish wolves) versus ‘normal’ Azeroth wolves. I was thinking about some changes I’m doing to Taighan, which includes a worg companion and so this popped into my head. ]]
