when jaehyun mentioned pretending to be your boyfriend in order to make your crush jealous, you thought he was joking. but the look on his face told you that he was dead serious

and he is COMITTED.

he will kiss you on your cheek, hold your hand, wrap an arm around your shoulder making sure that EVERYONE sees and knows that you two are “together”

he'll even send you good morning texts, carry your bag for you, and always keep your favorite drink or snacks on him just in case. “it's to really sell the part!” he would tell you

we already know this boy was down bad for you from the start or else he would not have offered to become your fake boyfriend

the first couple months, he was okay with not confessing to you. just being around you was enough for him even if it was just pretend for you

but someway along the road, it got a bit too serious for him and he was so protective over you </3

anytime you two would be out and someone would approach you and try flirting with you, he'd INSTANTLY back them down. wouldn't even give them a chance to speak to you before he'd wrap his shoulders around you and glare at the guy

it should've annoyed you, you two weren't even really dating! but you couldn't deny the butterflies in your stomach that would flutter whenever he'd press his lips on your cheek

and after you two had your first real kiss? neither of you could deny it anymore

your confession wasn't necessarily a confession per se. neither of you outwardly told the other “i like you.” you both just knew. it happened when you two were cuddling in your bed after a long day of school

you picked at your fingers as you hesitantly brought up the topic. “we're really bad at fake dating, right?” you mumbled, but loud enough for him to hear. jaehyun turned you with a smile, the same one you grew to love over the past few months, then he said “maybe we should try real dating instead.”

when you're casted as a last second female-lead for your TXT's music video, you didn't think much of it. until you find out the last scene ends with you having to kiss your bestfriend.

word count: 1015 words

It was just acting. It couldn't be that hard, right?

Being close to Kai brought you a lot of opportunities. You had been on TXT's set while they filmed multiple times. The bright lights, the cameras, they were noting unfamiliar to you. So when Hyuka asked, or really begged you, to be the female lead for the new music video you were shooting after the girl who was supposed to play it canceled last minute for personal reasons, you agreed.

You didn't think too much of it. You had seen the boys act for years. It was nothing you couldn't do. When you arrived to the studio, the staff quickly informed you on what you needed to do during the video and ushered you to go get your makeup done.

The hairstylist and makeup artist made nice conversation with you as they got you ready to film. Saying that they were so happy you were able to come in last second, and they knew the final shot would look so good because of your and Hyuka's ‘natural chemistry.’

“I'm sorry, a final shot?” You asked. From what you had been told, all you had to do was look pretty in a few shots, stand next to some a couple of the boys, cry a little, and that was it. You weren't told of any final shot; neither by the staff or by Hueningkai.

The two girls paused and then nodded. “Yeah, the kiss scene. You didn't know?” The makeup artist said. You whipped your head towards her so quickly, the hairstylist almost burnt you and the makeup artist almost smudged your lipstick everywhere.

“The kiss scene?!” You repeated with your voice jumping an octave higher than normal. The two girls shared confused looks as they looked at each other then back at you.

“Did nobody tell you?” The stylist asked almost hesitantly.

“No!?” You yelped as you almost choked on your own breath.

The walk from the dressing room to the set felt much longer now. The lights and cameras you once thought were no big deal now became so frightening and invasive in your mind. Your first kiss was really about to be captured on camera. And lo and behold, the same man who kept this information from you was at the snack table and stuffing cookies down his mouth.

“You liar!” You shouted as you smacked his shoulder. Hueningkai flinched when your hand landed on him and he turned to face you with wide eyes. He had cookie crumbs travelling down his face and half the cookie was still in his mouth.

“Huh? What did I do?” He mumbled unintelligible through a mouthful of crumbs.

“You never told me we had to kiss!”

He blinked and chewed, roughly swallowing the remnants of the cookie while looking away sheepishly.

“Oh... yeah, that.”

"What do you mean ‘Yeah that'?!” You gawked at him before smacking his chest repeatedly until he had to grab your wrist in order to stop you. “Why didn't you tell me?!”

Hueningkai scratched his scalp as he shifted his weight from the ball of his feet to his heel. “Because if I didnt you wouldn't have done it!” He rebuttled. You opened your mouth to argue back with him, but you couldn't deny the fact he was correct. “And we need to finish filming this video.” He added softly.

Hueningkai gently let go of your wrists to grab your hands and squeeze them softly. “You're my last hope. Please?”

You huffed and looked away, hoping that warmth travelling up your body didn't leave a pink hue on your cheeks. “… You owe me SO much food after this.”

You filmed the rest of the scenes with ease. The nerves eventually rolled off you and it was much easier to flow into it. Hyuka made it much more bearable too. He'd give you silent reassurances across the room or comforting rubs on your shoulder or your break if you looked too uncomfortable or seemed too quiet.

Now, for the part you were dreading from the minute you found out.

The kiss scene.

You two were only a few inches apart. Far enough to not be pressed up against each other but close enough for you to feel his breath on your lips.

“You're okay?” He whispered. You nodded as you looked around at everyone running around you two, setting up the scene to make it look perfect.

“Okay! We're rolling in 3.. 2.. 1!” The director shouted.

Hueningkai settled his hand against your waist. You lifted your head to meet his eyes which were already gazing into yours. His gaze was so focused and soft it made your breath hitch.

Then he leaned in.

You both tilted your heads to the side and you felt his lips brush against yours. It was just enough for the cameras, just enough for the director to shout ‘cut!’, but Hyuka decided for himself that it wasn't enough.

He fully pressed his lips against yours, running his tongue on your bottom lip as his hand traveled from your waist to the side your face. Your hand slid up from his chest to his collar to pull him impossibly closer. He took the hand that wasn't on your face to push you even closer against him.

Anytime you tried to pull away, his lips would race to find your again. The kiss was too long for a single shot, it was too long to be fake.

You knew he wanted to deepen the kiss even more by the way he held the back of your neck, but the director yelled “Cut!” which forced you two to pull away from each other.

His hands still rested on your neck and neither of you moved. You didn't want to move.

“That didn't feel like acting did it?” He whispered against your lips.

You breathed heavily, softly licking your lips as you continued to stare at his. “No. It definitely didn't.”
