6 50/..
12 ¼
Incurred a cross sometime after getting into bed thinking of A- and she snoring by me very fine morning – making memoranda F56 ½° inside and 55° outside now at 7 50/.. am and went out with Robert the joiner – hurt at Booths’ manner of speaking to him yesterday – all mistake and with Robert Mann till 9 ½ had Jagger under surveyor of the Goldey road to ask to set them slope down the high ridge on my side as they have done on the Sour milk hall side – said I did not like to refuse him, but did not like my green [?] being do denuded they take the sod (he said only 2 yards back) to cover their new slope – would be done for 3/6 a rood – at last, if the commissioners would let me carry my Lodge wall down in a straight line (cut off the corner left) I would consent at once to the slope being done – breakfast at 9 ½ in about ½ hour or more – then had A- out with me – to Listerwick, and about home – till about 11 ¼ - then with DB. took him and Robert Mann up to Walker pit to see about the pit-toad sheds, and colliery conveniences – sinking the present road would be somewhere about 350 yards of stuff to shift extra – and sinking 4 yards about the pit etc. would altogether = 1700 or 1800 yards of stuff – shewed them my intention as to masking the conery wood wall – and fencing off the wood, and turning part of what used to be wood into field – remainder of the old some of the pit all to be moved and a good job and good field to be made of the whole – then talked over the laundry court road job – the road to be stoned at convenience – the stuff shifting to be done immediately – would take Robert and John and Sam Booth 3 weeks – then Robert to take the colliery job and its belongings, and have all ready at WP. by the time the main gates are driven up – they will drive off these 2 yards a day but of the mine(=80 yards) from the coal-workings up into WP. they would hardly drive a yard a day .:. say 160 days + 23 Sundays = 183 days
300+435 = 735÷2 = 367 ½ days + 53 Sundays = 420 days
.:. the main gates = about 1 year and 2 months and the mine = 26 weeks or ½ year
.:. if the main gates are begun about 1 August they ought to up at WP. the 1st of October next year and if the mine is begun now for the sake of getting and siding the stuff, it ought to be done by Xmas – the gin to be set directly and the stuff to be carted to the spot where wanted – and to begin as soon as Thomas G- has cut his hay grass – he has now sown the field his house stands in with the 3rd crop of oats, full as the land is of [quicks] – I said I was as bad as he to let him do so – yes! RM. thought I was – Told DB. to give G- notice I could not allow this kind of farming – DB. to be put into my place, but Robert M- (under him) to be answerable for keeping the horses employed – explained about cistern to be placed at the mouth of the water drift that falls into the low fish pond, and about 14lbs. to the yard inch lead pipe to be laid from there to the present lead cistern – came in about (after) 3 – ordered cold meat for DB- and he was to go immediately afterwards to the clerk of the gas light and coke company with the tender of coal – (vide p. 101 line 14) – DB. copied what I wrote yesterday – and took it with him – just before he came this morning about before 11 came someone from Mr. Crossley, the attorney, of Bradford and served upon me a written in the matter of Messrs. Nelsons masons – I told the man I would have nothing to do with it – he might throw it down upon the ground if he chose, and so he did and I called William Lord to pick it up and give it to Robert Mann, and almost immediately came Booth who (it seemed) was in the servants hall, and whom I called to the spot, and Robert M- gave him (DB.) the written which I told DB. to take to Mr. Parker – sometime (from after 3) with Robert the joiner ordering about the housemaids closet – told him I had spoken to Booth who never meant to say anything to hurt him, and was sorry he has been so mistaken by Robert – all right – then till 5 (A- had returned in the meantime and sat writing her journal by me) wrote all but the 1st line of today – she had begun yesterday and finished this morning tracing copy of my case estate plan – nicely done – at 5 20/.. William Keighley came – to have his bill paid – settled
SH:7/ML/E/23/0055
with him – then had Holt till 6 ½ - he takes the farm, on agreement to value on and off at £70 a year but I agree to make his salary for taking care of the colliery on condition that he does A-‘s bits of measuring and care taking £20+£10 so that his rent is in reality £40 per annum and I told him I thought there were £20 per annum of cottages to let off if he chose – but that I should only put the place in tenantable repair – he agreed to take £20 per annum for the colliery and DB. to have the same I said I should give him Holt the extra ten pounds as a separate thing – he seemed very well satisfied – said he should try to agree with john Oates tomorrow if he could – It was understood on Tuesday that I reserve the bit of ground Mallinson has – and it must also be understood that holt must give me a blue vote, or, tho’ he may enter I will quit him; for it is so notorious that I make a point of this that my not having thought of naming it at the moment ought to make no difference – I told him if the colliery was let, he would have no chance for it; and he must think whether it would be disagreeable or not, to have some sorts of tenants of the pit – I asked if WP. could be set going by 1 October 12 months yes! could £200 be cleared by Xmas towards the engine – ye! Did he think he could keep the colliery in my own hands – he would try, and said it as if he intended it should be kept in my own hands and pay me well – he will not mend the wages of the men driving up to AP. so that the 2 gates stand at as let 3/. per yard and 1/. per yard as let with task of coal – he said he would keep them as tight to it as they did their own – on asking who there was to succeed him, he said his brother Joseph – I said I should not name it but should take notice of him – but as for him, he would be a new man – it would be different – meaning he must pay the rent – H- will be here at 10 am tomorrow
tell him I must have his vote
and Mallinsons’ bit of ground
and will only put the place into tenantable repair –
dinner at 7 – to 8 – when came upstairs – finished our bottle of champagne brought up yesterday and A- slept on the bed by me till after 10 – from 8 to 11 at accounts – my own rental and looking over rent book – very slovenly kept by SW. no entry at all of Sutcliffe wood farm – very fine day – F56 ½° inside and 48° outside now at 11 ¼ pm – Letter tonight 2pp. from Marian – Mrs. Button died last Monday evening – her legacy to Marian £120 – Marian thankful High Royds is sold – for £2250 to be paid for 20 July – note from the philosophical society – paper to be read on the China opium trade -

Post-event Survey
Gratitude to those who attended the event and for all educators who are making such a big difference in the lives of DC students in a time of global crisis. We applaud your efforts and strive to make it easier for you to do what you do, inspire, engage, and educate children. Please see some event takeaways and resources below.

Ideas and Takeaways
Topic: Community Partnerships
It’s important to remember that community partnerships should be collaborative, between the teaching artists/arts organization and the partner. Try to give both sides a voice in the planning and implementation. The pandemic has shifted things dramatically. Currently, schools mostly want resources from partners due to time limitations. It might be helpful to do a survey of teachers/schools interested and ready to partner, so that community partners don’t expend too much time and energy researching that. It’s difficult to get into schools even in normal times, so knowing what schools are likely to respond positively would be great. Funding is always a challenge!
Topic: Virtual Program Development
Participants discussed how virtual learning has it’s challenges but also has presented creative solutions to engaging learning
The walls of the school are no longer limited to your neighborhood. Students, artists, and educators are able to connect with others easily across the country and around the world.
There are many different ways that you can “animate your box” with creative activities
At home, students as well as educators may be more vulnerable and comfortable.  This can help engage in art in new and exciting ways
Some students have had their lights dimmed being at home this long.
Equity in classroom practices is required. There are still barriers to access.
Topic: Distance Learning for Students with Disabilities
Hidden disabilities are significant during these times. Students and educators need more emotional supports for learning and living and adapting physical work to more visual and audible learning.
Several artists new to teaching, suggested looking at DC Collaborative Teaching Artists Fellowship and the Commission on the Arts and Humanities Creative Spark!
One on one learning in digital space is important for students with various learning disabilities
Disabilities vary greatly. Approaches are unique. Important to have communication with teachers and parents.
Participants noted that most work has shifted to more social emotional learning and for writing - reflective writing.
Students and educators are zoomed out. Engage with statements rather than questions.

Topic: Social Emotional Learning
When your work or artform involves drawing on personal information and/or stories, how do we establish the trust needed in this virtual setting? While some folks can make themselves available to listen and chat, it is also important to set clear boundaries.
Focusing on building resiliency, confidence, ingenuity, and creativity can be just as important, if not moreso, than teaching and building technical skills of the art form. They are still skills nonetheless.
We sometimes forget, it can be hard to be a kid, and right now it is even harder.
Seeing students at-home, in their space gives us a fuller sense of what they may be going through and what they need from their teachers.
Topic: Measuring the Success/ Impact of your Virtual Program
Participants highlighted the need for flexibility within virtual programs, and ensuring that they are keeping the student/participant first.
On format and structure, many participants mentioned the value of online platforms such as Zoom, Padlet, Windows Movie Maker, and Slides. They also referenced the importance of length of programming– shorter for younger learners, etc.
Participants found student-led programs to be really successful and often aided in sustained engagement.
The silver lining that COVID-19 brought was referenced. Participants shared that the circumstances afforded them the ability to take a deeper dive into their art form and gave them the unforeseen opportunity to learn more about virtual programming and spend time delving into a new technique.

Weekly Announcements for Week of 1/31-2/6
Dear SBSC families,
Practice Schedule Here is the practice schedule for this week.Riley HSGroup 1 Monday and Wednesday 6:00-7:15G1 Elite Tuesday 5:30-7:30 Group 2 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 5:30-7:30 New Prairie HS (only for NPUSC students)Group 1 Tuesday and Thursday 7:00-8:15 CST Group 2 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7:00-8:30 CST Practice Notes:   No practice at Riley on Thursday or Friday due to the Girls IHSAA Sectional meet.  Swimming prelims are being held on Thursday and diving prelims/finals are being held on Friday. Swimmers attending New Prairie practices will continue to enter the building through door N17.  Everyone entering the building will be required to wear a mask.  Parents will not be allowed on deck.  Each athlete will need to fill out the attached form and hand deliver to the coach when entering the high school.  All swimmers should come dressed ready to practice.  There may be limited use of the locker rooms after practice.  If you have any questions regarding procedures for NPHS practices please email Coach Ashley at [email protected] Group 2 swimmers should come to practice in dryland clothes over their suits.  They should also be wearing quality workout shoes as well.  Flip flops or Crocs are not acceptable options. Swimmers are encouraged to bring a yoga mat if they have one. Munster InviteHere are our results from Friday's meet, our updated all-time Top 10, and our most current qualifiers page.  We had some great swims on Friday night.  We had 12 athletes compete, all swam 5 events, in just under 2.5 hours, and every single one of them had at least 2 best times!  9 of our swimmers had 4 or 5 best times!!  Some highlights includes 26 of the 70 events we swam were under the Divisional time standard and 3 others, by Addy Szakaly, were under the STATE time standard!  We also had several near misses for both Divisional and State cuts.  Our swimmers are swimming FAST right now!  Addy also now holds all three backstroke records for the 11-12 girls after lowering her own record in the 200 back and breaking a nearly 6 year old record in the 100 back previously held by Autumn Baumgartner. Our last two meets have been so much fun, not just for our athletes but our coaches as well.  The SBSC swimmers are dropping time almost every time they hit the water.  These young athletes have shown so much resiliency this season and I couldn't be more proud of them.   NCISC Winter Championships-Goshen Middle School 2/13 --and-- CON Last Chance Invite Concord High School 2/26-28We are adding two meets to our schedule and they will have limited numbers.   Goshen-3 sessions, 10&U, 11-12, and 13&O.  They want to limit each session to 65 swimmers so please indicate as soon as possible if you plan on attending. Concord- This came directly from the CON meet chair: Friday PM - Session 1 - 11-12s (500 Free & 200 IM)Warmups @4, Meet start@445, Meet over by 6pm- Session 2 - 13 & overs (500 Free & 400 IM) Warmups @6, Meet Starts@645, Meet over by 8:15pmThis would be about 35/40 minutes of warmup with one shift. We can accommodate 80 swimmers on deck per session.  If we have more than 80, we will use the spectator gallery to spread out more athletes and need to extend warm-up times with two shifts.  Based on last year's meet, we think we would have less than 80 swimmers in each session. Saturday & Sunday AM - Session 3 & Session 6 - 11-12s- Warmups @7, Meet starts@810, Meet over by 10:15amThis timeline plans for 2 shifts of warmups at 30 min each.  We would like to allow spectators for our younger athletes.  We plan to have a clean deck and all athletes be in the activity center (gym across the hall).  All athletes would be clerked.  If we have 80 or less swimmers, we adjust this plan.  Based on last year, we had 120-130 swimmers. Saturday & Sunday Lunch - Session 4 & 7 - 10 & unders- Warmups @10:45, Meet Starts@12pm, Meet over by 2pmThis timeline plans for 2 shifts of warmups at 30 min each.  Based on last years meet, we had 160-190 swimmers in this age group.  We cannot accommodate this many athletes.  We will need to limit this session to no more than 150.  We again plan to have a clean deck so we can have spectators.  Athletes will be in the activity center across the hall.  All swimmers clerked.  If we have less than 80, we can adjust the plan.   Saturday & Sunday Afternoon - Session 5 & 8 - Open- Warmups @2pm, Meet Starts@330pm, Meet over by 6:30pmThis timeline also plans for 2 shifts of warmups at 40 min each.We plan to have no spectators for this session.  Athletes can spread out in the spectator gallery and on deck.  Last year we had 160-180 swimmers in this age group.  This group would not necessarily need to be clerked, but we would like to limit the number of athletes behind the blocks during the meet. We are discussing doing the time trial on Sunday evening.  We plan to have relays first to help clear the deck faster but have discussed removing them should the timeline require it.  For the 11-12 & 10 & under sessions, with athletes in the activity center, we may ask teams to provide a Marshall or two for there team to help get kids to the clerk as well as off deck after they race. Please make sure to indicate you would like to swim ASAP. High School Swimmers Returning To ClubIf you are the parent of high school swimmer please email me the date they plan to return to practice. My hope is the Monday following their last high school meet, but I know that is always not the case.  The last three weeks in February may require us to find additional pool space based on the number of girls returning.  In the past our G3 girls would practice with Group 2 until the boys high school season was completed.  We know have 27 swimmers in Group 2 (plus 2 in G1 Elite) it would be a logistical nightmare to try to squeeze another dozen athletes in the same time frame at the same pool.  Please email me as soon as you can! LifeguardingThe best time to lifeguard is now! We need your help!! PEASE sign-up in any available spot. USA Swimming Guidelines-MAAPPUSA USA Swimming issued a directive with regards to electronic communication and social media contact between coaches and athletes.  Most of what is being implemented is common sense and falls in line with our club's policies.  One new requirement we will need to adhere to is how your minor child communicates with me.  For several years I have asked swimmers in Group 2 and Group 3 to text/email me if they would be missing practice.  Moving forward, swimmers will be instructed to include a parent on all communication with me.
If you are the parent of a Group 2 or Group 3 swimmer, and have never sent me a text before, please text me so I have your contact info in my phone.  This way if I need to contact your swimmer about missing practice I can be sure to include you.  My cell phone number is 574-276-6057.
I encourage all parents and swimmers to read the full policy.  We are required to keep this policy on our website, here is the link. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. -- John VanDriessche Head Coach South Bend Swim Club South Bend Riley High School (574)276-6057 www.southbendswimclub.com #SBSCForLife

All Hands-on Deck
Trillions of dollars have been committed by governments, monetary bodies, corporations and individuals to combat the sharp drop in economic activity caused by the spreading coronavirus. The world may never be the same as mindset shifts will impact our ordinary lives for years to come. All the monetary support will go to just provide liquidity to offset drops in demand and income to hopefully maintain the status quo until the virus crests and we can slowly, region by region, return to our “new normal” lives. We will get through the virus, but the real question is what the other side will look like. Life will not be the same.
While we still believe that the stock market will be much higher six months from now, not all companies/stocks will perform. Don’t worry about the bottom, focus on buying great companies that are financially strong, have winning long term business strategies and are selling well beneath intrinsic value.  Remember, program trading takes no prisoners.  For instance, our portfolios were virtually flat at 3:45 pm on Friday but closed down around 2.5% 15 minutes later due to sell programs. Ridiculous!  We continue to focus on companies whose business models are tied to the internet and/or benefit from increased usage of the internet. We also are investing in 5G technology, healthcare and a few consumer non-durables.
We expect to see a sharp increase in the number of coronavirus cases, which now exceeds 100,000, in the U.S.  over the next few weeks as testing expands exponentially.  Abbott has just introduced a 5-minute test for use everywhere. Deaths, which are approaching 2000, will increase too mostly in people over 65 and those with preconditions. We are confident that there will be a therapeutic by the summer and a vaccine on the market by the first quarter of 2021. The incremental number of the coronavirus cases is still most likely to crest within the next 4-6 weeks and then decline into the summer. We would like governors in all states to order a total shutdown to limit the spread of the virus and bring this to an end as soon as possible. That would really be great news!
The U.S economy will slowly recover beginning in the third quarter if the coronavirus peaks as we expect it to over the next 4-6 weeks. We do not look for a quick snapback as many believe as it will be a rolling recovery by region so it will take time for demand to increase in a meaningful way especially in those industries most penalized by the virus. Avoid investing in any company in financial distress due to the coronavirus. Many are raising debt and/or taking federal assistance. Before investing in any of these companies, understand what it will cost, the impact on their balance sheet/cash flow and whether any equity is given up to the government. For instance, Carnival Cruise is attempting to raise an additional $7 billion in debt ($10 billion already on balance sheet) against a $10 billion equity valuation. Then there are the airlines that will receive nearly $50 billion in grants and loans. What will the total cost be to them and how much equity will they have to give up? So be careful if you want to bottom fish in companies in financial distress due to the coronavirus.
Let’s look at the aggressive actions taken by governments, monetary bodies, corporations and individuals to stabilize the markets and provide enough liquidity to carry us to the other side of the valley:
·      The Fed went all in last Monday pledging to buy as much government backed debt to bolster the markets for housing and Treasury bonds as needed. It also announced plans to buy corporate and mortgage bonds, including the riskiest investment grade debt and support small businesses too. Powell mentioned Thursday that the Fed has much more ammunition to stabilize and liquify all markets.  The Senate advanced $454 billion to the Fed that will be leveraged to over $4.5 trillion in additional loans. Spread narrowed throughout the week and the dollar weakened which signaled success at stabilizing the markets, at least for now.
·      The ECB announced an $833 billion-dollar purchase program
·      Germany announced a $160 billion program to fund social benefits and direct aid to virus hit companies. England, France, Italy, Spain, India, Japan and all other countries afflicted by the coronavirus are providing several hundred billion dollars of support too.
·      Congress passed a $2.0 trillion coronavirus aid package: approx.  $560 billion for individuals, $153.5 billion for public health; $340 billion for state and local governments; $377 billion for small businesses; $500 billion for big corporations. The monies will stabilize the economy but not increase demand. We expect a Phase 4 or 5 bill if needed plus a stimulus program to boost demand once the virus peaks.
·      The G-20 nations, 80% of the industrialized world, pledged $5 trillion in total to offset the negative impact to growth and income from the coronavirus.
·      Corporations, foundations and individuals have pledged billions in the fight against the impact of the coronavirus too. Google pledged one billion alone.
None of this money will stimulate demand. The only answer for growth to resume is for the spread of the coronavirus to peak, treatment drugs to be found, and vaccines to be developed to prevent another epidemic next year. It may take months to fully gear up once we get an all clear. But the market will anticipate all of this far before it happens.
Investment Strategy
We are focusing on the other side of the valley.  We firmly believe that there will be changes in mindsets that will affect our daily lives for years to come. Doing more at home will forever be the big game changer. Use of the internet at home will continue to accelerate for social media, shopping, education, business, entertainment, conferencing, healthcare, legal and many other services for years to come.  We will also need many more smart devices, increased internet bandwidth with security protection and expansion of the cloud. The advent of 5G will be a big game changer, too.
We continue to avoid any company with potential financial risk. We are concerned about the energy space with oil pushing down toward $20 dollar/barrel as there has been demand destruction totaling approximately 15 million barrels/day or roughly 15% of global demand. We will continue to avoid any economic sensitive stocks including industrials, capital goods, commodities, financials, transportation, entertainment and box retailers until we get a better perspective of the shape of the recovery and the financial impact of the coronavirus on these companies.
We remain very confident that the stock market will soar once the number of coronavirus cases peak which we expect to happen again over the next 4-6 weeks.  While all boats may lift initially, we are focusing on the long-term winners as they will significantly outperform over the next year and beyond. THE PROGRESSIVE TRACKS SHOW #325 (Music Demanding Full Attention)
ProgHeads are 'different' from others who listen to music (or at least we like to think we are). We don't typically use music as background noise, while life goes on around it. We are perhaps a bit more critical in our listening. And we certainly tend to make music a priority in our lives. In some ways, you could say that music IS life to ProgHeads.
And so, we give music the attention it deserves. The music this week falls nicely into that category deserving our full attention.
Remember, you can access podcasts of any previous Progressive Tracks Show at: http://www.progzilla.com/?s=progressive+tracks(there are 160 now!).

CRAWFORD: WOLF PACK WEEKLY: February 25-March 3, 2019
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BY: Bob Crawford, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT - The Wolf Pack (23-25-6-3, 55 pts., .482) went 2-0-1-0 in three games this past week, stretching a streak of games with at least a standings point to a season-high six (3-0-3-0).  The week began with a 3-2 home win over the Springfield Thunderbirds Friday night, in which Brandon Halverson came within 1:33 of his first career AHL shutout before settling for two goals-against on 21 shots, and Vinni Lettieri had a goal and an assist.  The Wolf Pack came back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits at home against Providence on Saturday but ultimately fell to the Bruins 3-2 in overtime.  Lettieri scored his first career pro shorthanded goal in that game, extending a pro-career-high goal-scoring streak to five games (5-2-7), the longest by a Wolf Pack player this year.  Hartford then turned the tables on the P-Bruins in a rematch Sunday in Providence, as Steven Fogarty struck for his first pro hat trick, and a pro-career-high four points and Chris Nell made 29 saves in his first AHL appearance of the season, leading the Wolf Pack to a 4-1 triumph. For the latest AHL standings, click here. This week: The Wolf Pack are back in home-ice action at the XL Center this Wednesday night, as the Hershey Bears come to town for a 7:00 PM game.  The Wolf Pack then travel to Springfield for a 7:05 contest on Friday night, before returning home to host Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Saturday on “Military Appreciation Night”.  Faceoff for that game is 7:30. Wednesday, February 27 vs. the Hershey Bears (Washington) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM At this and every Wolf Pack Wednesday home game of the season, fans can take advantage of the Wolf Pack’s “Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack”.  The Family Value Pack includes two tickets, two sodas, and two hot dogs, all for just $40. A 5-1 Hershey defeat in Bridgeport Sunday was the Bears’ first regulation loss since January 11, snapping a 16-0-0-1 run, the longest streak of consecutive games without a regulation defeat in the Bears’ 81-year history. Hershey enters the week 31-21-0-3 for 65 points and in third place in the Atlantic Division, one point ahead of Providence and four points up on Lehigh Valley. Bear netminder Ilya Samsonov, a first-round pick by the parent Washington Capitals in the 2015 NHL Draft, is 9-0-1 in his last ten appearances, with a 1.26 goals-against average, a 94.8% save percentage and two shutouts over that span. This is the third meeting of the season between the Wolf Pack and Bears, and both of the first two have been in Hershey.  The Bears won both, 2-1 in a shootout November 4 and 6-3 on December 8. This is a Wolf Pack “Winning Wednesday”.  If the Wolf Pack win, fans can show their Winning Wednesday ticket at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center and receive a free ticket to the next Wednesday Wolf Pack home game, which is March 13 vs. Binghamton (some restrictions apply). At this and every Wolf Pack home game, fans are encouraged to come early for “Hockey Happy Hour” in the Comcast Coliseum Club, presented by Minuteman Press.  Enjoy $2 beers and $5 appetizers from 5:00 PM until puck drop. Tickets for this and all 2018-19 Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, online at hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499.  Tickets purchased in advance for kids 12 or younger start at just $13 each, and all tickets will have a $3 day-of-game increase. Broadcast – live with Bob Crawford and Mark Bailey on News Radio 1410 AM, and 100.9 FM, WPOP, online at iheart.com and on iHeartRadio.  Video streaming at theahl.com/AHLTV.  Friday, March 1 at the Springfield Thunderbirds (Florida) at the MassMutual   Center, 7:05 PM The Wolf Pack broke a run of three straight losses in head-to-head competition with the Thunderbirds in their 3-2 victory at the XL Center on Friday night.   The Thunderbirds have taken both of the previous meetings in Springfield, 6-2 on October 28 and 5-2 February 1. Entering the week, the Wolf Pack and Thunderbirds (22-23-6-5) were tied for seventh place in the Atlantic Division, with 55 points apiece.  Springfield is 2-9-0-1 in its last 12 games. Chris Wideman and Dryden Hunt both scored goals for the Thunderbirds in the final 1:33 of Friday night’s game in Hartford, to foil a shutout bid by Brandon Halverson and cut what was a 3-0 Wolf Pack lead to 3-2.  Hunt has 5-6-11 in seven games against the Wolf Pack this year. Broadcast – live with Bob Crawford on News Radio 1410 AM, and 100.9 FM, WPOP, online at iheart.com and on iHeartRadio.  Video streaming at theahl.com/AHLTV.  Saturday, March 2 vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh) at the XL Center, 7:30 PM This is “Military Appreciation Night” at the XL Center, presented by the U.S. Army.  The Wolf Pack will pay tribute to veterans and active-duty military for their service to our country, as all fans who show military ID at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center will receive a $5 discount on their game ticket. This night also includes a Wolf Pack sock giveaway to the first 2,000 fans, presented by NBC Connecticut. The Penguins finished last week four points ahead of the Wolf Pack, and five points out of a playoff spot, in the Atlantic Division, with a record of 26-22-5-2 for 59 points. Former Wolf Pack forward, and Stamford, CT native, Ryan Haggerty had a four-game goal-scoring streak (5-1-6) snapped in the Penguins’ last game, a 4-1 home win over Rockford Sunday. The High School Game part 4
Sam DAY 30 Thurday
This week, there were plenty good news that drove him happy. First, Shirley seemed loving him more than ever. She provided him snacks, donuts and some extra food at noon. Plus, she offered her help for the studies, and came at his home Thuesday and Wednesday instead of the gym class, until diner. Sam was persuaded they were ready to have sex. She was becoming closer than ever. She even cuddled me last night... And he found her hotter than ever, obviously. He had hard times hiding his dick, pushing against his tight jeans every fucking time she was around. Also, his mother Nadia outdid herself to please her son's girlfriend. Because he got a 12 in mathematic, he asked her to bake every night a real diner for him, and Shirley when she came. Okay, not because he got a 12 in mathematic... I lied a little... Raphaël, last year, told him he needed to cut off his alimentation and make at least 30 minutes workout every day to be in shape. But right now, with only 2 gym class and soccer, Sam managed to keep his toned muscles and took advantage of the time saved to see his girlfriend. He won on all fronts.
"Dude, keep concentrate on our work please."
The young lad raised his head. Tobias, sat in front of him, stared at him, annoyed. They were working on a group composition since 1 hour. Well, to be honest, Raphaël did the whole essay, and both of them had to make a short introduction.
"Don't worry, I'm with you. Let's do it."
The bell rang, spared him this task. Raphaël would do it tonight, after gym class. To be honest, Sam had no idea how his friend could manage to do that. He had been waking up at 6:00 am, been getting ready in 15 minutes and then had been making 1 hour of workout every day. At 7:15 am, he had been taking a shower, and then has been reaching the school for 8:00 am. And the afternoon, he had been doing class gym until 6:00 pm, and then hab been managing to make his homework, plus playing some videogames and soccer, and then he hab been sleeping at 11:00 pm. Every fucking day, like a clock. This is so creepy. And the rumour said Raphaël's little brother was even worst.
The break allowed him to join Shirley and Big Pig. He greeted this one with a large smirk.
"Hey buddy. I call you buddy because you're with my girl, okay ? Is it me, or have you gained weight since the last time I saw you ? Like, 2 kg (4.4 pounds) ?"
Finn frowned angrily. He wore a large pullover, hiding pretty well his potbelly, and a baggy pants, loose enough to fit. As usual, he was eating a donut or two for the break. Tobias, standing next to Sam, whispered :
"Maybe he gained even more. See this fat ass ?"
Their teammates laughed.
"True buddy." added Sam. "He is fattening up by all this junk food and without any exerise."
Again, the group laughed. They are too funny. Sam himself considered this kind of humour as the best. Finn was a loser, and it was natural for winner to remind him that from time to time. But Shirley, who was a naturally empathic person, faced them, suddenly furious.
"Guys, let him go." she ordered. 'You just are fucking bullies with no balls, attacking a poor guy and taking advantage of the crew of brainless teens you are."
A heavy silence came after her word. Oh wow... Sam knew she got her period (since Monday, that's why she could not be too keen for now), but just wow. It was a joke babe, a joke... He had not the time to express his thought, because Raphaël was faster.
"Damnit Sam dude, you will let your girlfriend speak like this to me ?" he smiled. "Did I count for nothing to you, and she just can insult me ?"
He is true. The lad could not let her disrespect his bestfriend, and humilate the whole team.
"Shirley, babe, apologize to Raphaël please. You just assulted him without any reason."
She glared at him, enraged, and muttered :
"I don't give a fuck about Raphaël. He is a fucking stupid cow."
She yelled :
"You heard me BUDDY ? You're a freak, and an asshole. A fucking motherfucker, a jackass without any consideration for anyone. Go fuck yourself. And you too Sam, go fuck yourself too. Just go."
The anger seize of Sam, but Shirley took Finn with her and left the place and went in class. Who the hell she thinks she is ? How could she says that ? He did not understand. And he was angry now. Really angry.
"I probably overestimate your couple." whispered Raphaël at his ear. "Because it seems like she doesn't like you that much."
Sam felt instantly miserable. His bestfriend was right, she just throw him like a trash to protect Finn the Big Pig. And that was rude. So rude.
Shirley DAY 31 Friday
More than 24 hour after her argument with Sam and Raphaël, the girl still felt devastated. On one hand, she was angry against her boyfriend and his crew, because they were fucking bastards. In the other hand, one day without Sam made her thought about her feelings for him. The brown guy, despite being such an idiot, was kind and respectful of her decisions and choices. Plus, he became cuter as he lost muscle definition. But right now, she was alone, depressed and mad at him. Locked in her bedroom, she did more push-ups than ever to evacuate her stress, and skipped the family diner. What the hell is happening to me ? After three weeks being captive of an imposed relation, she was free to throw everything out, but she was not capable of. Sam cheerful face always came to her mind. They got well, 1 week before thankgivings holidays, and she was not able to imagine this week without him. This bastard... how can I even consider staying with him ? Under Raphaël lead, those motherfuckers made fun of Finn, like always. But this was unfair. Her friend, behind his physique, got a wonderful personality and he did not deserve thoses bullies. Not to mention that girls in the class were saying bad things about him behind his back. Boys are motherfuckers, girls are cowards... She heard someone knock at her door and opened, in hope of being distracted from her issues.
Her brother Dan came in, smiling prudently. He sat on her bed, and she saw a tiny roll of fat hung over his jeans. But she had other concern in minds, and sat next to him wordlessly.
"Sam feels guilty, you know ?"
As she expected, her brother already knew. She could not hide a secret from him with this fucking Raphaël telling anything.
"He deserves that." she replied. "For being such an asshole to my friend Finn. Why he and his crew have to make fun of an overweight guy ? Did Raphaël hates fatty boys or what ?"
Dan put a hand on his tummy and smiled.
"He doesn't. Otherwise, I would not be his friend."
"You're not fat."
"Well, I gained some weight you know ? College life, with party, all-you-can-eat buffet and less time to exercise made me add 3 kg (6.6 pounds) to my body, upping to 73 kg (160 pounds). I have some extra flesh around the waist now. But Raphaël doesn't mind at all you know. He doesn"t even notice, I think."
"Because it's barely noticeable." she assured. "Regarding Finn, he has a large gut, and Sam, Raphaël and their teammates are making fun of it."
"Is it your real problem, or have you an other concern to discuss ?"
Of course Dan was not an idiot. He probably knew she was fighting against her own feelings about Sam. Shirley did not answer for all that, because she did not want to talk about it. I hate Sam, and I want to avenge Finn. She knew it was not the only reason of her plan. Even worst, she knew the horrible true.
"Do you remenber when I had a crush on this girl, in 10th grade ? I told everyone I hated her because she was chubby. I lied to myself for like 3 month, before she left the town with her parents. Remember how sad I was ?"
She remembered. A despicable story, because Dan was in love with her, but he missed this story. He cried a whole day whe he learnt she left...
"Are you sure you want to live the same experience ? without you and Raphaël, even today I would still miss my crush. When you love someone, don't let anyone put a stop to your story. Even the devil himself."
Well... Lesson is clear. Shirley had, before all, to accept the truth. She was in love with Sam, as nasty he was. But to made up with him, she first have to talk with the devil as Dan unconsciously said.
Sam DAY 35 Thuesday
Last week before holidays started badly. Shirley, still mad, ignored him and his crew, staying only with Finn. He could see the whole class staring at her, and girls making fun of the situation. Jessy, who had a crush for him, was happier than ever, but he did not care. I want Shirley, nobody else. Depressed, he has been waking up at 7:15 am, taking two large bowls of cereal, getting ready and leaving the house two days in a row. He had been eating donuts alone, in memory of better days, before joining the class. And he had skipped gym class yesterday to reach his house, where he only played videogame while snacking, without any willpower for training or anything else.
"Man, I'm speaking to you." complained Tobias. "Can you listen ?"
Sam focused on his friend, ignoring Raphaël glance. Tobias repeated :
"I was asking you if you would come tomorrow for the party at my home ?"
"Sure, of course I will."
"I invited Shirley too, and she said yes you know ? You will handle this ?"
"Of course I will, who the hell do you think I am ?"
"Well, she decided to brought Finn, so I count on you to be polite and to not trigger a mess."
"I think Sam understood." whispered Raphaël. "You can back off Tob'."
It sounded like an order, and their mate just left, as requested. The brown lad thanked his bestfriend. Standing at 183 cm (6'0'') and weighting 76 kg (167.5 pounds) at the last check-up, Tobias was as passionate as them by workout and soccer. He always tried to become closer with Raphaël, without any success yet. Brown, with brown eyes, a lot of people said he looks like Sam, but this latter was not convinced. Part of him hated Tobias's smug attitude.
"According to Dan." stated Raphaël. "Shirley feels guilty you know ? She disrespected you by insulting me, and she realized that. She probably will beg your perdon tomorrow."
"You don't know her dude. She is too stubborn to do this. I'm convinced she expects me to apologize."
Raphaël rolled his eyes. He wide pullover shiver when he shruged.
"Man, you're one of the best guy here. Look, you're handsome, faithful, respectful, kind and smart. You have a body worthy of magazine. Stop being so uncertain, and just act like the amazing boy you're. She will come to apologize, and if she don't, she just prove to you she is not worthy. Understood ?"
Embloden by thoses words, Sam acquiesced.
Later this day, after the lunch (when he surprisingly not teased Finn), Sam felt sick. He probably ate his two burger (because Shirley did not give him her leftovers, he preferred take two) too fast. The first class, he stomach gurgled painfully. He asked the permission to left the room and see the nurse. Holding a belch back, he entered Ms. Lovely's office an hand on his tummy. The nurse, as beautiful as the first time, ordered him to lay down and examined him.
"Seems like a little indigestion because you ate something perished. I will speak to the canteen chef."
"What I'm supposed to do ?"
"Just rest, and nothing more. You will felt a little hungry tonight, after you evacuate the bad food."
Ms. Lovely was leaving the room when she added :
"Oh and Sam, I know you grades are improving, and as far as I can say, you are still perfectly shaped."
Shirley DAY 36 Wednesday
The hardest ordeal of the girl life happened tonight. In order to make up with Sam, she decided to come to the party organised by Tobias, and brought Finn with her. She knew her friend loved buffet, and he rushed this one as soon as they went in the manor. Everywhere, 11th grade students were partying, having fun and drinking differents alcohol. But Shirley was here with one goal. According to Dan's advice, she had to make peace with Raphaël. I called him a fucking cow and some other pleasant words... I don't know how he will take it. She glimpsed the devilish blond guy upstairs, talking with Jessy. Shirley joined them, and waited behind the lad. He wore a wide shirt, but unbuttoned the last three buttons, unveiling his strong chest and arms.
"Please, put a word in for me with Sam, I beg you to." was insisting Jessy. "I'm sure I have my chances now she insulted you. And I really am a good girlfriend."
"Sam doesn't need my permission, you know ? Otherwise, he would never have dated this lovely Shirley. And by the way, I think she wants to talk to me, considering she is behind me listening."
Nice start... Raphaël turned towards her, ignoring Jessy dirty look. This one left them angrily, and Shirley ended up alone with the devil. She diplomatically smiled.
"You look fine, Raphaël. Sad you don't show yours perfect abs, I'm sure a lot of girls would love that."
"But not you, I guess." he replied. "What do you want ?"
Well, he get to the point at least... Cautious, she smiled again. She wanted to keep Sam for her, but she needed Raphaël's approbation (despite what he said to Jessy). Plus, she was aware of his reaction. Did he knows about my plan ? He certainly saw Sam changes... But maybe he doesn't care... Or he is oblivious, like Dan said.
"Apologize to you." she confessed. "Look, I love Sam. More than I thought at first. And I really want to make a success of our relation. I realised you're his bestfriend, and he care about your opinion. So do I."
She paused, keeping a close eye on Raphaël reaction. Sadly, he was impassive, waiting the development. Jeezus, this guy scare me.
"That's why I'm sorry." she continued. "I don't know you well, although you're a friend of my brother, and I think I have to give you the benefit of the doubt. You probably are better than I thought at first."
He smiled. That smile... There was not warmth in it.
"I didn't get how funny you were Shirley. You know, everybody in this class is obliged to me. They all love me except you. Well, excepted you. I wonder how have you fallen in love with Sam ? How the fuck he found the balls to ask you out, and how you and him are living the perfect love together, implying everything you want to ?"
She open her mouth, but did say anything. She realized what he has hinted. Since the beginning, he just had controled everything in order to make her respect him. The only thing he wanted... Make me conform. Worst, he probably noticed the changes in Sam body, but did not care, because he just used the love of the boy to his plan. And Shirley, now in love for the young lad, was subject to Raphaël's law.
"Don't ever assault me again, and you can have a perfect life with Sam. I know, this is hard, because you will betray Finn's faith in you, but it's the only way to get back your boyfriend."
I can't decline... She realized slowly she had no choices. In order to make up with Sam, she had to play Raphaël's game. And Finn... Finn did not listen to the devil, that was why he was bullied. Teased by everyone. You are the most devilish man I ever know... And I'm poverless... Seriously, fuck you Raphaël.
"You know, when you try to play a game you don't understand, you loose sooner or later." he whispered. "But I'll be nice : I let you two weeks after Thanksgiving to submit Finn. Otherwise, he will suffer, and you will let him alone. Deal ?"
Feeling miserable, she approved with a reserved signal. It was time to take her part of the deal, and make up with Sam, for at least felt less spiteful.
Her boyfriend was playing beerpong with some teammates under the puppy-dog eyes of Jessy. The girl, quite drunk herself, was trying to attract his attention. She was taller than Shirley, measuring 172 cm (5'6"), and quite lean. She got two big boobs desired by all the male population, and a beautiful face with black hair and blue eyes. According to the last check-up, she weighted 61 kg (134.4 pounds), 1 more than in october. However, Shirley intended to keep her boyfriend, and she bump into the girl to catch Sam's shoulder. He turn towards her, and she smiled.
"Honey, we need to talk."
She ignored the stares while climbing the stairs with him. She brought him in a room, and sighed. He was gazing at her, to impressed to speak. She could notice his boner under his tight jean. For the first time since she know him, he was not wearing a belt, and his bloated belly (from the beer he drank) expanded freely. His white shirt hid the thing efficiently, but she knew where to catch sight of this.
"Okay, let's go. I'm sorry Sam, I overreacted to your jokes about Finn. I want to make peace with you."
He blushed. His hands tried to cover his hard-on, and he answered softly.
"I need to apologize too. I didn't want to hurt your feelings babe."
She smiled. Her body was hot. The fuck, Tobias can't switch the air con. on ? She could not resist but stare at Sam body. His once muscled stomach was stuffed.
"I think you're cuter than ever." she whispered.
For real ? What the fuck did she just said ? What was happening to her ? Sam blushed again.
"You are pretty handsome too. As I always told you."
Her brain did not control what happened next. With passion, she kissed him, and pushed him on the bed. She could feel his belly, hard as a rock, against her abs, and his cock, even harder, pressing against her thighs. She undressed him while kissing, and he started to stroking her boobs. To be honest, she probably will always remember what happened next, in this dark room, during the third party of the year.
To be continued
 /!\ New character coming /!\
Raphaël looks like a real bad guy, and I had fun during this part, because he’s quite evil :D However, Sam is still oblivious, and this is the best part for now !

Force-free, reward based training only is recommended. Anxiety: Jodie has shown some signs of potential anxiety in the care center, vocalizing (whining, panting, pacing back and forth) continually through the SAFER. This behavior was not reported at intake, the owner profile does not note anxiety so we cannot be certain whether this behavior will continue in a future home, or whether it is specific to the shelter environment. * TO FOSTER OR ADOPT * HOW TO RESERVE A “TO BE KILLED” DOG ONLINE (only for those who can get to the shelter IN PERSON to complete the adoption process, and only for the dogs on the list NOT marked New Hope Rescue Only). Finest Fat Loss Diet Regimen Effective Weight-loss Diet Plans
Are you planning for your following cars and truck? I was at first fairly doubtful of electricity motor vehicles due to the fact that electric power have to be generated off another resource from energy, which seemed to put yet another unproductive step in the energy conversion method that would create such cars naturally much less efficient in comparison to the present generation of gasoline-powered autos and also trucks. When it comes to the only pure electric cars and truck here, the Nissan Fallen leave, our company have used especially reduced repair work amounts just like the few pure EVs that have actually driven on United States roadways in previous years. ABDOMINAL vehicles do certainly not shed their location and also you may quickly manage them without being honorable as well as hitting yet another automobile or even things. If your automobile is state decade old or older and has actually stayed in a very hot environment if the coatings negative that most likely is actually beyond chance, yet it is actually still worth a go. Likewise, if your coating has been actually 'reduced' three or even 4 opportunities before, then this might currently be too thin for one more hairstyle as well as sufficing once again could subject some manufacturing plant coating guide through the different colors. Likewise, a great deal of volunteer motorists are 2 individual carpools - now they need to pay for to get to their place? Your motor is among the absolute most costly units to repair or change and also typically severe damages is irreparable as well as you won't manage to conserve your automobile. The traditional technique of cleanup cars and trucks includes hand washing the exteriors and vacuuming the interiors from the automobile. I perform certainly not advise driving the vehicle till you obtain ABC tension brought back, or you might wreck the pump (which uses fluid for greasing). Therefore if you recognize somebody which has actually been involved in a car collision and also mores than happy with the fixings that were actually done on their automobile and also the customer service they acquired, ask them where they had actually the job carried out. The brand-new automobile market values are actually picked up from countless deals coming from suppliers throughout the USA as well as the blue manual for autos demonstrates the real typical asking price that people pay for when they buy their cars and trucks coming from brand new vehicle dealers.
A human protection vehicle driver that remained in the Uber at the moment must possess intervened as well as had control of the cars and truck, however failed to. A cars and truck of special steering top qualities, excellent style, high-tech exterior and interior automobile components and higher respected name like a BMW is entitled to unique care, also. I bear in mind being in my good friend's auto and seeing a number of traits blinking on her dash panel, I asked her just what was actually happening; her solution was actually "I aren't sure however I understand it implies cash so I don't even want to observe that". On an every week basis, I come between three and also 7 times Http://perfect-shape18.fr/prenez-en-lipo-cla-Outre-la-bataille/ between 7:30 am and also 7:00 pm Monday via Sunday as well as in between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm on Sunday and also I get about $160 really worth from car cleans every week ($ 640 each month).Yixin participated in a set of agreements along with Yusheng, a provider that is principally engaged in the used automobile deal service. It was achievable to judge vehicle drivers' relevant abilities just since chauffeurs often tend to change groups.

Murder! Rhetorically Speaking
Mark Smith, Murdered, Parking Garage, June 6, 2010; 10:37 pm, Multiple stab wounds.
Detective: At 6:15 on the morning of June 7th I received a phone call from the director. They had received reports of a body found in a parking lot on High street and what me to be the first on the scene. Once I arrive at the garage it took me a while to locate the body, it was hidden in the back between two cars, my first assumption was that that spot was where the murder took place. However, upon closer examination, the blood from the wounds was smeared and traces were found in the center of the lot, leading to the conclusion that the murder took place in the center and the murderer moves the body in an attempt to cover their tracks. I examine the body and count a total of 5 surface stab wounds, although I couldn't see the front side because I couldn't disrupt the scene before forensics got there. I am able to find the victims wallet and I identified him at 28 year old Mark Smith from Denver, Colorado. His home address is no more than ten minutes away from the murder location. Once forensics get to the scene we are able to pinpoint time of death at 10:37 pm June 6th.
Coroner: June 7th, 2010, 11:30 am. Subject in a white male, 6′2′’, 160 pounds. Death by stab wounds, total of 8, 5 posterior, 3 anterior. Weapon was a 5 by 1 inch kitchen knife. Time of death was 10:37 pm June 6th. The woulds were afflicted in this order: 1 to the back, 3 to the front (2 chest 1 abdomen), 4 back (2 shoulder, 1 middle back, 1 lower back). Death was caused be bleeding out from these wounds, took approximately 20 seconds.
Eulogy: Today we gather here to mourn the poor untimely death of Mike Robert Smith. Known as Mikey to his friends and family, his life was cut too short too soon. Today, we remember Mikey for the lively and loving person that he was. We remember his sarcastic humor, toothy grin, and the way he could never pronounce “bag” correctly. The loss of Mike will leave a hole that may never be filled, but together we can keep his memory alive and help soften to edges. As the family and friends mourn lets remember to give space, but make our presence known. Even though Mikey is gone, that doesn’t mean all love must be.
Lawyer: Dear ladies and gentlemen of the jury. Today we are here to put a murderer away. A murderer who took someones son, brother, nephew, and friend away. Mike was a good man with a clean record, not so much as even a traffic ticket on it. He was violently and mindlessly murdered in the dead of night, all for what? The keys to his new BMW 330XI, which he earned from working long nights and weeks. This criminal does not deserve to go free when Mike can never see his family again. The evidence is overwhelming and the law would require no less. Thank you.
Discussion:
1) Which of the exercises did you find easiest to write? Why?
I found the detective one the easiest to write because I feel like I had the most background for it from shows and books. I felt like I knew lots of the jargon and the context for which I needed to write.
2) Which of the exercises did you find the hardest? Why?
The coroner was the hardest for me because I don’t think I have ever read a coroners report. I had to do a lot of guessing about how I should write and that is what made it difficult.
3) What does the rhetorical situation of academic writing demand? Who is the audience? What tone is appropriate? What jargon might be needed? What information might be included and/or rejected in an academic paper?
For academic writing I think the rhetorical situation demands you to provide a logical and concise argument or answer for whatever you are writing. Unless specified otherwise, academic writing is formal and should be about learning. The audience is normally the professor or teacher who is grading the piece. However, you may be asked to write for a different audience like your class or an outside group. The use of jargon would have to apply to whatever type of writing. If it was persuasive, then jargon about opinions and logic would be used. If it was a literature review, jargon about the piece you are reviewing can be used. Whatever information helps your paper should be included. Especially when you are being persuasive, it is better to only include points that support your side. If you are being academic and informative, adding facts from all sides can work the best.
