Notes:
Robert delivered new T-shirts !!!! They are the annual Memorial Day "MURPH" shirts but you can wear it anytime you want as long as you wear it here when we do "MURPH". Don't worry if you weren't here today.....there are plenty of them, so just get one when you come next time.
Ooops, the above is true as long as you don't wear a SMALL. Robert actually orders all these shirts for his ELITE CROSSFIT 6224, and since there are zero SMALL sized athletes at his ELITE CROSSFIT 6224, he didn't order any SMALLS because GIRLS and other small athletes ARE NOT ALLOWED to attend ELITE CROSSFIT 6224. There isn't anyone at Robert's ELITE CROSSFIT 6224 who wears a SMALL size except Back-Pack-Chicken-Legs -Larry who actually is XL sized but likes to get sweaty and squeeze into an S size to enhance his muscular physique which is limited to above his waist. When it was brought to Roberts' attention that we have several small-ish athletes (Sue/Faith (The Kid)/Jasper/etc) at LITTLE HARPETH CROSSFIT 6226, an exasperated Robert decided to place an order for a dozen SMALLS. Hopefully they will be delivered before Memorial Day. We will need several more SMALLS because there will be additional athletes who will be envious and want to look like B-P-C-L Larry. Sammy D immediately comes to mind...
Being a CrossFit Affiliate Owner/Coach in these awoken times is akin to surfing on a landslide. I am grateful for the guidance offered without solicitation from our anonymous Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion staff who guide and keep me from offending members of LHCF.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a lovely day like today. We have classes at 0730 and at 1 PM. Please come, workout, and get a free LHCF MURPH T-shirt. Small athletes will have to be satisfied with a T-shirt promissory note.

The Bitter (and Stinky) Self-Destructed Rotten End of The Simpering Senile Snake of marred-a-LAME0; The Drained and Dithered Dullard, Liddle donnie j. trump: Part 17/18: Balak Fooled Around And Found Out

Strong's Concordance #70 oben: From the same as 'eben; a pair of stones (only dual); a potter's wheel or a midwife's stool (consisting alike of two horizontal disks with a support between) -- wheel, stool. Original Word: אֹבֶן
TANAKH (Jewish Publication Society, Hebrew-English) Pages 1055 and 1066: Jeremiah 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord: Jeremiah 18:2 "Go down to the house of a potter, and there I will impart My words to you." Jeremiah 18:3 So I went down to the house of a potter, and found him working at the wheel. Jeremiah 18:4 And if the vessel he was making was spoiled, as happens to clay in the potter's hands, he would make it into another vessel, such as the potter saw fit to make. Jeremiah 18:5 Then the word of the Lord came to me: Jeremiah 18:6 O House of Israel, can I not deal with you like this potter?--says the Lord. Just like clay in the hands of the potter, so are you in My hands, O House of Israel! Jeremiah 18:7 At one moment I may decree that a nation or a kingdom shall be uprooted and pulled down and destroyed; Jeremiah 18:8 but if that nation against which I made the decree turns back from its wickedness, I change My mind concerning the punishment I planned to bring on it. Jeremiah 18:9 At another moment I may decree that a nation or a kingdom shall be built and planted; Jeremiah 18:10 but if it does what is displeasing to Me and does not obey Me, then I change My mind concerning the good I planned to bestow upon it. Jeremiah 18:11 And now, say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Thus said the Lord: I am devising disaster for you and laying plans against you. Turn back, each of you, from your wicked ways, and mend your ways and your actions! Jeremiah 18:12 But they will say, "It is no use. We will keep on following our own plans; each of us will act in the willfulness of his evil heart." Jeremiah 18:13 Assuredly, thus said the Lord: Inquire among the nations: Who has heard anthing like this? Maiden Israel has done A most horrible thing. Jeremiah 18:14 Does one forsake Lebanon snow From the mountainous rocks? Does one abandon cool water Flowing from afar? Jeremiah 18:15 Yet My people have forgotten Me: They sacrifice to a delusion: They are made to stumble in their ways--The ancient paths--And to walk instead on byways, On a road not built up. Jeremiah 18:16 So their land will become a desolation, And object of hissing for all time. Every passerby will be appalled And will shake his head. Jeremiah 18:17 Like the east wind, I will scatter them Before the enemy. I will look upon their back, not their face, In their day of disaster.

TANAKH (Jewish Publication Society, Hebrew-English) Pages 975, 976, and 977: Isaiah 56:1 Thus said the Lord: Observe what is right and do what is just; For soon My salvation shall come, And My deliverance be revealed. Isaiah 56:2 Happy is the man who does this, The man who holds fast to it; Who keeps the sabbath and does not profane it, And stays his hand from doing any evil. Isaiah 56:8 Thus declares the Lord God, Who gathers the dispersed of Israel: "I will gather still more to those already gathered."
10:36 PM = 22:36.
TANAKH (Jewish Publication Society, Hebrew-English) Pages 337, 338, 339, 340, 341, and 342: Numbers 22:36 When Balak heard that Balaam was coming, he went out to meet him at Ir-moab, which is on the Arnon border, at its farthest point. Numbers 22:37 Balak said to Balaam, "When I first sent to invite you, why didn't you come to me? Am I really unable to reward you?" Numbers 22:38 But Balaam said to Balak, "And now that I have come to you, have I the power to speak freely? I can utter only the word that God puts into my mouth." Numbers 22:39 Balaam went with Balak and they came to Kiriath-huzoth. Numbers 23:25 Thereupon Balak said to Balaam, "Don't curse them and don't bless them!" Numbers 23:26 In reply, Balaam said to Balak, "But I told you: Whatever the Lord says, that I must do." Numbers 23:27 Then Balak aid to Balaam, "Come now, I will take you to another place. Perhaps God will deem it right that you damn them for me there." Numbers 23:28 Balak took Balaam to the peak of Peor, which overlooks the wasteland. Numbers 23:29 Balaam said to Balak, "Build me here seven altars, and have seven bulls and seven rams ready for me here." Numbers 23:30 Balak did as Balaam said: he offered up a bull and a ram on each altar. Numbers 24:1 Now Balaam, seeing that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, did not, a on previous occasions, go in search of omens, but turned his face toward the wilderness. Numbers 24:2 As Balaam looked up and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the spirit of God came upon him. Numbers 24:3 Taking up his theme, he said: Word of Balaam son of Beor, Word of the man whose eye is true, Numbers 24:4 Word of him who hears God's speech, Who beholds visions from the Almighty, Prostrate, but with eyes unveiled: Numbers 24:5 How fair are your tents, O Jacob, Your dwellings, O Israel! Numbers 24:6 Like palm-groves that stretch out, Like gardens beside a river, Like aloes planted by the Lord, Like cedars beside the water; Numbers 24:7 Their boughs drip with moisture, Their roots have abundant water. Their king shall rise above Agag, Their kingdom shall be exalted. Numbers 24:8 God who freed them from Egypt Is for them like the horns of the wild ox. They shall devour enemy nations, Crush their bones, And smash their arrows. Numbers 24:9 They crouch, they lie down like a lion, Like the king of beasts; who dare rouse them? Blessed are they who bless you, Accursed they who curse you! Numbers 24:10 Enraged at Balaam, Balak struck his hands together. "I called you," Balak said to Balaam, "to damn my enemies, and instead you have blessed them these three times! Numbers 24:11 Back with you at once to your own place! I was going to reward you richly, but the Lord has denied you the reward." Numbers 24:12 Balaam replied to Balak, "But I even told the messengers you sent to me, Numbers 24:13 'Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not of my own accord do anything good or bad contrary to the Lord's command. What the Lord says, that I must say.' Numbers 24:14 And now, as I go back to my people, le tme inform you of what this people will do to your people in days to come." Numbers 24:15 He took up his theme, and said: Word of Balaam son of Beor, Word of the man whose eye is true, Numbers 24:16 Word of him who hears God's speech, Who obtains knowledge from the Most High, And beholds visions from the Almighty, Prostrate, but with eyes unveiled: Numbers 24:17 What I see for them is not yet, What I behold will not be soon: A star rises from Jacob, A scepter comes forth from Israel; It smashes the brow of Moab, The foundation of all children of Seth. Numbers 24:18 Edom becomes a possession, Yea, Seir a possession of its enemies; But Israel is triumphant. Numbers 24:19 A victor issues from Jacob To wipe out what is left of Ir. Numbers 24:20 He saw Amalek and, taking up his theme, he said: A leading nation is Amalek; But its fate is to perish forever.

So after reading through my last post again now that i'm not sleep deprived (and also now that we watched more of them) i feel like i should address a few of the things i said even though it probably doesn’t matter to anyone but me
first the thing about there being no tall girls in hololive:
I really wasn't talking about the actual average height (which google tells me is about 160 cm for women so i guess from that perspective Nerissa is quite tall) i meant from my perspective.
For reference: i am 187 cm tall... sooo... yeah...
and i know what's going to happen because it always happens when i tell people on the internet this
"Oh LiSa Is SuCh A lUcKy WoMaN!" well... i like to think she is but not because of that, because she's actually taller than me at 191 cm... in fact i am not even that tall compared to friends and family:
my mom: 197 cm
my sister: 186 cm
Lisa's parents: both 190 cm
my best friend: 193 cm
my uncle: 180 cm
my cousin: 178 cm
my sisters husband: 205 cm!!! (he regularly hits his head when walking through doors. It's kinda funny)
really the only outlier was my dad at 168 cm... Yeah, HE was a lucky man
so when i hear someone being 175 cm tall it just doesn't seem tall to me
next the EU-Time thing
and i know every time this is mentioned someone will inevitably go "oh but you have Vesper and Kiara and the ID girls and you can just watch VODs" and this wasn’t actually meant to be a complaint but well...
yeah of course we can (and do) just watch VODs but sometimes you just want to watch live (and we do watch several non-hololive vtubers live if we can but hololive just seems to hate Europeans sometimes)
With the ID girls and Vesper a big problem is that they might stream during the day in Europe but just "during the day" doesn't translate to "at a good time to watch live" you see they usually stream during the early morning... when people are either at work or still in bed...
also Vesper is still MIA
and Kiara... well to me at least she struggles from a combination of three problems
her time slot: her streams usually start at 3 pm in our timezone (which is the same timezone as almost all of Europe with the exception of the UK and Portugal) so even if we assume just a regular 9-5 job and an average of 30 minutes to get home you're already missing the first 2,5 hours of her stream which wouldn't be much of a problem if it wasn't for point number 2
her choice in games: Kiara tends to stream long story driven games like Fire Emblem, Zelda or Yakuza. This means that missing 2,5 hours of a stream could mean missing significant portions of story and feeling completely lost for the rest of the stream which brings me to point number 3
her long streams: While i personally really like long streams they do make it hard to catch up. Let me give you an example...
Kiara starts streaming Zelda while I'm at work. I come home 2 hours later and can't watch the rest of the stream live because i have no idea what's happening in the story so i decide to watch the VOD the next day but she streamed for 8+ hours so watching it takes me 2-3 days...
now if she decided to stream Zelda again during those days i can't watch that stream either even if i am at home when it starts... and so the backlog just grows and grows...
Funnily enough the best schedule for European timezones is faunas...
you see fauna usually starts her streams at 10pm for us and streams for about 3-4 hours max so you can easily put one of her streams on, watch it and then go to bed once it ends... at around 2 am which probably isn't the best time to go to bed when you have to wake up at 6 am but let's not get into that...
anyway i hope i managed to clear up what i was trying to say in the last post... bye

Q&A August: Christy Burgess of the Robinson Shakespeare Company
It’s the final week of Q&A August! Let me take  you back to 2016, to my first ever Shakespeare Theatre Association conference, hosted by Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana. It was the last day, and the morning’s warm-up session was being conducted by Christy Burgess and the Robinson Shakespeare Company, a community Shakespeare program for school-aged kids.  After several rounds of fun theatre games, Christy asked her students if any of them wanted to perform some Shakespeare for this objectively intimidating roomful of seasoned, experienced, and elite Shakespeare practitioners and educators.
Every single hand flew up into the air.
After some negotiation, a tiny girl in a pink dress, probably not more than nine or ten years old, stood up. Awww, this is so cute. Is she going to do Puck’s “If we shadows have offended” epil— NOPE. She narrowed her eyes and spat out Cloten’s “meanest garment” speech from Cymbeline with all the vitriol of a rejected privileged white man. My jaw literally dropped. HOW was this possible?
The answer was Christy Burgess. I’d actually met Christy the year before, when I drove down to  South Bend to see a couple shows at the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival, and she immediately overwhelmed me (in a good way) with her energy, enthusiasm, and passion not just for teaching kids Shakespeare, but for giving them ownership of Shakespeare. Every single one of her students believes that Shakespeare is theirs. I’ll never forget Christy telling me what her students’ reaction was upon meeting a professional Shakespeare company: “Oh, you do Shakespeare too? That’s cute... WE  do Shakespeare.”
On a more personal level, Christy helped shepherd me through the impostor syndrome I suffered from while attending my first conference, giving me the confidence to find my place in the Shakespeare community without constantly apologizing for being “just someone who draws stupid stick figures”. Christy builds people up, and the world is better for it.
1. Who are you? Why Shakespeare?
My name is Christy Burgess and I am the director of the Robinson Shakespeare Company.  I am a teacher, director, and have most recently been christened “Shakespeare Maven” by my friend Julia.
Why Shakespeare? There are so many reasons for “why Shakespeare”.  The Robinson Shakespeare Company starts in 3rd grade and the first day of our 3rd-6th grade class is one of my favorite all year.  Many of our young actors have waited since kindergarten watching their older siblings or young adults they admire go through the program.  The anticipation and excitement on that first day of class is palpable, because they finally get to do Shakespeare.  It’s also become something that is a little subversive.  There are times when our kids are told “you don’t really like Shakespeare” or “shouldn’t you be playing sports?”, which has the effect of “don’t tell me what I’m supposed to like!”
In a meeting, someone asked one of my students “Why Shakespeare?”  She told a story I hadn’t heard before.  It was right after her father passed, before she went back to school.  She was walking around the track at her high school and passed an elderly white couple.  The woman said to her “shouldn’t you be in school?” to which her husband responded “Mary, don’t you know that’s how people get shot?”
This young woman said “when people walk by me, they might think I’m a hood or a thug, but Shakespeare is mine, something no one can take away from me.”
When we study plays from Eugene O’Neil or Arthur Miller, it’s the world through their eyes, but when we play Shakespeare, it’s the world through OUR eyes.
2. What moment(s) in Shakespeare always make you laugh?
Scene 3.4 in Twelfth Night always cracks me up!  There’s something about the most non-threatening duel letter from Sir Andrew to Cesario/Olivia and the forced fight that is always funny.
Mya interjects: “Is’t so saucy?” is one of my favorite lines in Shakespeare. It’s such a stupid joke. I don’t care. I love it.
3. What's a favorite Shakespearean performance anecdote?
Every now and then there’s Shakespeare magic.
When I was teaching and directing in Alaska with the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre, I had made a comment to my young actors about performing in the rain.  I’m pretty sure they prayed for rain, because our last performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor, it POURED.  The audience ran for cover, but nothing could erase the looks of glee on the actor’s faces.  Falstaff’s line, “let the sky rain potatoes”, pretty much said it all!
In 2017, the Robinson Shakespeare Company (RSC*) was invited, and traveled, to England to perform in Stratford-upon-Avon the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s Shakespeare Garden.  The New Place recently opened and we discovered that we were the first group to perform there….if the weather held out.  There were numerous sunshine dances (involving jazz hands), prayers, and wishes.  The day of the performance, there was a storm coming right for us.  It was the closest thing to magic I’ve seen.  It was as if the storm was around us.  In videos, you can see the wind whipping the costume and the slightest drizzle of rain, but we made it!
*I know, I know, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Reduced Shakespeare Company, etc. I like to think of us as the Royal Shakespeare Company’s distant (many times removed), scrappy cousins that will be revealed if we do a deep dive on our genealogy chart.
This memory might be tinged with jet lag, because during the same trip I sat in-between two 12 year olds, who only fell asleep 30 minutes before landing.  When we arrived in Stratford, we were met by the incredible Cait Fannin-Peel (my Shakespeare wife and hero).  Our bed and breakfasts weren’t ready yet, so she took us on a tour of Shakespeare’s Birthplace.  They have an amazing little stage in-between the house and the giftshop where actors were performing bits of Shakespeare.  Cait asked if we would like to perform something.  Jet lagged, sleep deprived, and thrilled, it took about 30 seconds to plan out the opening to Cymbeline and start performing it.  Tourists surrounded us with their cameras and applauded when the scene was done.  It felt amazing as a director of young people to see them confident on stage in a setting that was incredibly different from what they were used to.  We have video evidence!
youtube
4. What's one of the more unusual Shakespearean interpretations you've either seen or would like to see?
Bart Sher’s Cymbeline at Intiman changed me.  The set was simple; a red raked stage, but by being so, it didn’t need massive set changes, we were with the story the entire time.  The production was funny, moving, and stunning.
I’m frustrated by Shakespeare that tries to distract you from thinking it is Shakespeare.  I’ve been in, or seen productions, where it’s like “look at these live animals” or “explosions” or “a fake ice rink that isn’t integral to the plot and is really slick in the rain, but look, people are ice skating for 30 seconds” that are unnecessary.  I believe you should be able to wear black clothes on a blank stage and get the story across; everything else is just icing.  If not, it’s not good Shakespeare.
Mya interjects: I am broadly in agreement with Christy here, except that I desperately want MORE live animals on stage. Dogs. Goats. Rabbits. Gerbils. I don’t care if they’re not textually supported.
5. What's one of your favorite Shakespearean "hidden gems"?
I don’t know if it’s a hidden gem, but I love Henry IV, Part 1 and 2.  I think it’s such a loss when they’re combined, because they are both stellar plays for different reasons.  Yes, Henry IV, Part 1 has all the action, but Henry IV, Part 2 has phenomenal speeches and you get to see just how devious Falstaff is.  Food for powder, anyone?
6. What passages from Shakespeare have stayed with you?
This quote from Romeo and Juliet is how I feel about teaching.  During the school week, I am in 24 classes in the South Bend community, mostly in Title 1 schools.  Last year, Tuesdays were long days.  I would teach six classes at a middle school, plus an after-school program, then direct the RSC.  That was approximately 190 kids and the day lasted from 9 am-9 pm.  It wasn’t, however, so bad, because I work with really great kids.  I feel what I give to them, they give back and the days don’t feel long.
“the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.”
Juliet, Romeo and Juliet, 2.2
Also “bless you fair shrew” which I say to my dog all the time when she sneezes.
Mya interjects: BLESS YOU FAIR SHREW THAT’S THE BEST I LOVE IT
7. What Shakespeare plays have changed for you?
The first time I saw Franco Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet, I was twelve and locked myself in the bathroom and cried.  Seriously though, who didn’t?  Do you have a heart of stone???
Mya interjects: Yes. :P
During our 2017 trip, we took our RSC to see the REAL RSC’s Titus Andronicus.  Blanche McIntyre is a badass director.  It’s easy to dismiss, Titus, but she found depth, and urgency.  The show made our company better.
My actors still refer to the performance when we talk about high stakes and urgency.
8. What Shakespearean character or characters do you identify the most with?
I love Viola.  She goes on such a journey and her “make me a willow cabin at your gate” speech moves me every time.  We don’t get to pick who we love.  I’m really lucky that I have a sweetheart who loves me, Shakespeare nerdiness and all.
If I could be a character?  Henry V.
9. Where can we find out more about you? Are there any projects/events you would like us to check out?
You can find more about us on our Facebook page, Instagram, and our website.
Notre Dame Magazine put together a gorgeous website that chronicled the six months they had a reporter with us as well as our adventures to England!
(Back to Mya) Thanks so much to Christy for answering my questions, but, even more importantly, for raising the next generation of Shakespeareans. I, for one, welcome our new Shakespearean overlords.
COMING THURSDAY: It’s two-for-one day with the bard bros behind one of my favorite Shakespeare podcasts!

My Last Summer Vacation
Having different natural places with heavenly beauty are so rare in the world we are living in either internationally, or even locally. These places attract more tourists to take their vacation in that specific place. Philippines, the country of hospitable Filipinos, is one of the countries having different tourist spots destinations. Kalanggaman Island is shaped like a bird, reason why its name is derived from the local word “langgam” that means bird. an island located at Palompon, one of the humble places being visited by different nationalities around the world. Clear sea water, eye-catching white sand, and flourishing vegetation are the strengths of this Island. In additional, it's long sandbar that shows up during low tide also make the tourist interested to come over and enjoy nature's pleasurable parts.
Tumblr media
Unknown to many tourists, Kalanggaman Island’s real gem is hidden underneath. This famous sandbar is actually a marine sanctuary oozing with gorgeous marine life and corals. In fact, it is a famous dive spots for divers coming from Malapascua Island, which is about 2 hours away by boat. If you don’t know how to dive, you can snorkel in the reef drop-off near its shore. Here’s my Kalanggaman Island Travel Guide with itinerary and budget to help you plan your trip.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT KALANGGAMAN ISLAND?
The best time to visit Kalanggaman Island is during the summer season, from March to May. You may also travel to Kalanggaman from November to February but try to avoid the months of June to October due to the rainy season and possible storms. Best to check the weather updates for your safety.
WHAT TO BRING IN KALANGGAMAN ISLAND?
Bring food and drinks. There’s no restaurant in the island, only 1 store.
Bring power bank as there is no electricity in Kalanggaman Island.
Bring coral-friendly sunblock and wear aqua shoes.
If you want to stay overnight, you can bring your tent or rent a tent forPHP 400/USD 7/EURO 6/SGD 10/MYR 30 per tent.
If you plan to snorkel, you can bring your snorkel gears or rent one from the boat operator or touts. Fee is PHP 100/USD 2/EURO 2/SGD 3/MYR 8 – PHP 150/USD 3/EURO 2/SGD 4/MYR 11.
MOBILE SIGNAL?
There’s a mobile signal, however data is intermittent. If you need a pocket Wi-Fi while traveling in the Philippines, you can RESERVE HERE.
BATHROOMS and TOILETS?
There are changing rooms in Kalanggaman Island and toilets but there’s no freshwater, only saline water. So, if you need to take a shower, better do it in Palompon. Anyway, soap, shampoos and detergents are strictly prohibited in Kalanggaman.
SAFETY IN KALAGGAMAN ISLAND?
During our visit, there were police officers in Kalanggaman Island. Not sure if they are actually stationed there or they were stationed there because there were a lot of tourists since it’s a holiday. The island is pretty safe for tourists, however, follow the swimming protocols for your own safety. Your boatman or tour guide should instruct you as soon as you arrive in Kalanggaman. There’s also a medic station in case of untoward incidents. Just a reminder:
Do NOT swim in the sandbar area because of the dangerous rip currents. I was told there were tourists who drowned there even during our visit! There’s an area where it’s safe to swim, but not around the sandbar!
Wear life jacket when snorkeling for your safety. There’s an area where you can snorkel.
Do not leave your things unattended.

It's Great Opportunity To Us How we can participate on earth hour day 2022 | BLOG ONLINE TECH NEWS 2022
Tonight, for the 15th year in a row, people around the world will turn off their lights for an hour. This is part of a larger global campaign called Earth Hour.
earth hour day 2022: what is earth hour day?
Earth Hour is an annual event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in 2007 in Sydney, Australia to raise awareness about climate change. On Saturday, participants from over 190 countries turn off their lights for an hour.
World attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, India Gate, Beijing Phoenix Center, Brandenburg Gate in Germany, the Colosseum in Italy, the Empire State Building in the US and the Brazilian Redeemer will be shut down. Show your support for the campaign.
earth hour day 2022: what is the purpose of earth hour day?
On its Earth Hour website, WWF calls this event a symbol of "unity" and "hope" for a sustainable future, a future for all of us.
The Earth Hour campaign has led to increased action to limit climate change. For example, the head of WWF in Uganda created the first Earth Time Forest in 2013. Argentina also used the 2013 Earth Hour campaign to pass a Senate bill for the 3.4 million hectares (8.4 million hectares) Uganda Marine Reserve. World Wildlife Fund.
earth hour day 2022: It's Great Opportunity To Us How we can participate on earth hour day 2022
Celebrate Earth Hour by turning off the lights from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm. in your local time zone. The official Earth Hour website offers supporters seven ways to spend time out of the light, including reconnecting with nature and attending local community Earth Hour events.
WWF also encourages supporters to "take action within the hour, whether it's supporting a local WWF project, participating in an Earth Hour campaign in your country, or creating a movement in your own community."
Earth Hour is celebrated on the last Saturday in March, when millions of people show their support for the environment by turning off unnecessary lights. During Earth Hour, the lights stay off from 20:30 to 21:30. To date, more than 190 countries around the world have participated in this initiative.
Earth Hour is an example of how small initiatives can be tools for big change. Once again, more than 190 countries around the world will spend 60 minutes in darkness explaining the future of Earth. Earth Hour is celebrated annually on the last Saturday in March under the auspices of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). At the same time, people turn off unnecessary lighting in homes and offices for an hour (from 20:30 to 21:30).
Collective sense of environmental protection
To save energy, this step is not only a means of saving, but also brings a sense of community to the environment. This shows that working together can create a better world for the next generation. Dainik Jagran Group is also participating in this year's Earth Hour initiative in India. This year's Earth Hour theme is "Shape our future". "Shape your future" in a world recovering from the Corona epidemic.
world's largest environmental campaign
Regarding this initiative, Ravi Singh, Secretary General and CEO of WWF India said that Earth Hour is one of the biggest environmental campaigns in the world. The relevance of Earth Hour is also growing in the face of the increasing threats of climate change and global warming. Today this initiative has found a place around the world. This makes people more aware of the dangers of climate change.
started 15 years ago
On March 31, 2007, 2.2 million people and 2,000 businesses started an initiative in Sydney, Australia by turning off their lights for one hour. Gradually, everyone realized its importance, and today more than 190 countries have joined the campaign. Now more and more people are volunteering.
increasing relevance every day
Regarding the relevance of this initiative, Ravi said the aim of Earth Hour is to encourage people to take action to combat climate change. Earth Hour shows your support for the environment. By attending Earth Hour for one hour, we demonstrate our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Earth Hour is an important step in our life. In this hour, let us reflect on what steps can be taken individually and collectively to improve the environment.

!Another innocent victim PLEASE READ THIS: On 8/12/21, my wife dropped our beautiful, kind dogs off for a groom for the first time at @glamourpawsmahwah 190 Franklin Turnpike in Mahwah NJ (they are groomed regularly so there was no anxiety on our dogs part). One of our pups was a New Foundland, the largest, kindest gentle giant. We went to pick up our dog in the afternoon however he was not in the back of the shop but, in the front, in front of a fan… alone. The owner, Greg told us Samson was hot so he moved him to the front of the shop. We were also told by Greg that the “floors were slippery” and this was why Samson could not use his back legs to stand. Sadly and beyond words, we had to say good bye to our special boy because he suffered a heatstroke while being groomed. His temperature was 109.5 when we got him to the Vet on an emergency call and then had to take him to emergency care following because his condition deteriorated fast. Please, we ask anyone that reads this, do not take your dogs to just any groomer AND ask how they dry the dogs. This kind dog who only just turned 5 years old didn’t deserve to have his life shortened the way it was. Please, we had done our due diligence on this groomer but it was not enough. Our incredible Samson entered “Glamour Paws” in Mahwah NJ at 11:00 am as a healthy, happy, vibrant dog, only to be picked up at approximately 2:30 pm, lethargic, over-heated, non reactive and unable to move. My family and I are devastated, in disbelief and so sad as we lost this beautiful soul. The owner, Greg of “Glamour Paws”, 190 Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah NJ did not help us carry Samson out of his shop or even have the decency or compassion to call us to see how Samson was doing. Quite simply, I am appalled and disgusted and for the love of your four legged family member, research your groomer and do not go to “Glamour Paws” in Mahwah NJ. We welcome any conversation regarding “Glamour Paws” in Mahwah NJ and discourage you from doing business with this so called establishment. Our home feels empty without our incredible dog. RIP Sweet Samson 💔💔💔

Notes:
Kayla started it.  She wanted wine.  It wasn’t a Thursday wine night, but she knew there was a white wine in the cooler.  So she appeared with the bottle, some glasses, and a smile.  Soon a semi-circle of chairs developed on the girls deck.  Tom found a bottle of red in his car.  It wasn’t a regular Thursday BLOWOUT with snacks, but it was sweet.  The sad part was that it was a gorgeously warm evening, quite suitable for seating around the picnic table on the new benches, but SOMEONE felt a premature wine orgasm coming on, so we had to hurry things up.
I know you all are suspecting that Herb was the urgent wine participant, but he didn’t have a single drink.  Curiously, he said he had to go home early and work on his taxes.  Only the seriously very high income people are so concerned about taxes.  Like Timmy.  And Robert.
Wednesday morning at 0800 we will have a wonderful workout.  It will be 65 degrees and sunny.  Everyone and anyone is invited to attend.
36 hours after the WEDNESDAY 8 AM we will have our Thursday 4 PM workout, famous for it’s wine and snacks.  There has been a bottle of vintage PORT on standby in the Barn for several weeks.  Apparently the bottle is waiting for an alignment of circumstances that will have to occur before the PORT is allowed to be sampled.  It has something to do with Bernie.
Wednesday at 0800.
Thursday at 4 PM with wine and snacks.

Weekly Announcements for Week of 1/31-2/6
Dear SBSC families,
Practice Schedule Here is the practice schedule for this week.Riley HSGroup 1 Monday and Wednesday 6:00-7:15G1 Elite Tuesday 5:30-7:30 Group 2 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 5:30-7:30 New Prairie HS (only for NPUSC students)Group 1 Tuesday and Thursday 7:00-8:15 CST Group 2 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7:00-8:30 CST Practice Notes:   No practice at Riley on Thursday or Friday due to the Girls IHSAA Sectional meet.  Swimming prelims are being held on Thursday and diving prelims/finals are being held on Friday. Swimmers attending New Prairie practices will continue to enter the building through door N17.  Everyone entering the building will be required to wear a mask.  Parents will not be allowed on deck.  Each athlete will need to fill out the attached form and hand deliver to the coach when entering the high school.  All swimmers should come dressed ready to practice.  There may be limited use of the locker rooms after practice.  If you have any questions regarding procedures for NPHS practices please email Coach Ashley at [email protected] Group 2 swimmers should come to practice in dryland clothes over their suits.  They should also be wearing quality workout shoes as well.  Flip flops or Crocs are not acceptable options. Swimmers are encouraged to bring a yoga mat if they have one. Munster InviteHere are our results from Friday's meet, our updated all-time Top 10, and our most current qualifiers page.  We had some great swims on Friday night.  We had 12 athletes compete, all swam 5 events, in just under 2.5 hours, and every single one of them had at least 2 best times!  9 of our swimmers had 4 or 5 best times!!  Some highlights includes 26 of the 70 events we swam were under the Divisional time standard and 3 others, by Addy Szakaly, were under the STATE time standard!  We also had several near misses for both Divisional and State cuts.  Our swimmers are swimming FAST right now!  Addy also now holds all three backstroke records for the 11-12 girls after lowering her own record in the 200 back and breaking a nearly 6 year old record in the 100 back previously held by Autumn Baumgartner. Our last two meets have been so much fun, not just for our athletes but our coaches as well.  The SBSC swimmers are dropping time almost every time they hit the water.  These young athletes have shown so much resiliency this season and I couldn't be more proud of them.   NCISC Winter Championships-Goshen Middle School 2/13 --and-- CON Last Chance Invite Concord High School 2/26-28We are adding two meets to our schedule and they will have limited numbers.   Goshen-3 sessions, 10&U, 11-12, and 13&O.  They want to limit each session to 65 swimmers so please indicate as soon as possible if you plan on attending. Concord- This came directly from the CON meet chair: Friday PM - Session 1 - 11-12s (500 Free & 200 IM)Warmups @4, Meet start@445, Meet over by 6pm- Session 2 - 13 & overs (500 Free & 400 IM) Warmups @6, Meet Starts@645, Meet over by 8:15pmThis would be about 35/40 minutes of warmup with one shift. We can accommodate 80 swimmers on deck per session.  If we have more than 80, we will use the spectator gallery to spread out more athletes and need to extend warm-up times with two shifts.  Based on last year's meet, we think we would have less than 80 swimmers in each session. Saturday & Sunday AM - Session 3 & Session 6 - 11-12s- Warmups @7, Meet starts@810, Meet over by 10:15amThis timeline plans for 2 shifts of warmups at 30 min each.  We would like to allow spectators for our younger athletes.  We plan to have a clean deck and all athletes be in the activity center (gym across the hall).  All athletes would be clerked.  If we have 80 or less swimmers, we adjust this plan.  Based on last year, we had 120-130 swimmers. Saturday & Sunday Lunch - Session 4 & 7 - 10 & unders- Warmups @10:45, Meet Starts@12pm, Meet over by 2pmThis timeline plans for 2 shifts of warmups at 30 min each.  Based on last years meet, we had 160-190 swimmers in this age group.  We cannot accommodate this many athletes.  We will need to limit this session to no more than 150.  We again plan to have a clean deck so we can have spectators.  Athletes will be in the activity center across the hall.  All swimmers clerked.  If we have less than 80, we can adjust the plan.   Saturday & Sunday Afternoon - Session 5 & 8 - Open- Warmups @2pm, Meet Starts@330pm, Meet over by 6:30pmThis timeline also plans for 2 shifts of warmups at 40 min each.We plan to have no spectators for this session.  Athletes can spread out in the spectator gallery and on deck.  Last year we had 160-180 swimmers in this age group.  This group would not necessarily need to be clerked, but we would like to limit the number of athletes behind the blocks during the meet. We are discussing doing the time trial on Sunday evening.  We plan to have relays first to help clear the deck faster but have discussed removing them should the timeline require it.  For the 11-12 & 10 & under sessions, with athletes in the activity center, we may ask teams to provide a Marshall or two for there team to help get kids to the clerk as well as off deck after they race. Please make sure to indicate you would like to swim ASAP. High School Swimmers Returning To ClubIf you are the parent of high school swimmer please email me the date they plan to return to practice. My hope is the Monday following their last high school meet, but I know that is always not the case.  The last three weeks in February may require us to find additional pool space based on the number of girls returning.  In the past our G3 girls would practice with Group 2 until the boys high school season was completed.  We know have 27 swimmers in Group 2 (plus 2 in G1 Elite) it would be a logistical nightmare to try to squeeze another dozen athletes in the same time frame at the same pool.  Please email me as soon as you can! LifeguardingThe best time to lifeguard is now! We need your help!! PEASE sign-up in any available spot. USA Swimming Guidelines-MAAPPUSA USA Swimming issued a directive with regards to electronic communication and social media contact between coaches and athletes.  Most of what is being implemented is common sense and falls in line with our club's policies.  One new requirement we will need to adhere to is how your minor child communicates with me.  For several years I have asked swimmers in Group 2 and Group 3 to text/email me if they would be missing practice.  Moving forward, swimmers will be instructed to include a parent on all communication with me.
If you are the parent of a Group 2 or Group 3 swimmer, and have never sent me a text before, please text me so I have your contact info in my phone.  This way if I need to contact your swimmer about missing practice I can be sure to include you.  My cell phone number is 574-276-6057.
I encourage all parents and swimmers to read the full policy.  We are required to keep this policy on our website, here is the link. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. -- John VanDriessche Head Coach South Bend Swim Club South Bend Riley High School (574)276-6057 www.southbendswimclub.com #SBSCForLife

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Counting of votes for Delhi assembly polls is underway at 21 centres across the city. In what are very early trends, the Aam Aadmi Party is leading in most seats, while the BJP has gained. The Congress, which drew a blank the last time, was nowhere in early leads. The final voting percentage in the polls was 62.59 percent. In Delhi’s 70-seat assembly, there are 58 general seats and 12 reserved seats. In the run-up to the polls, Arvind Kejriwal repositioned himself as a person focussing on the welfare of the people from being a person always at loggerheads with the authorities. Kejriwal declared that the polls will be fought on “kaam ki rajneeti (politics of work)”. Follow live updates here 12:15 pm IST

Congress falters again, yet to open its account
A teetering election campaign, a leadership crisis and over-dependence on legacy appeared to be the reasons behind the Congress’ dismal show in early trends of the Delhi poll results, with the party failing to open its account till 11.20am on Tuesday. The Congress, which ruled Delhi consecutively for 15 years from 1998 to 2013, was staring at a wipeout again after having failed to win any seat in the 2015 assembly elections in the national capital. A senior Delhi Congress leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity, blamed over-dependence on the past for the party’s poor show. 11:32 am IST
