A família de Catalina descende dos monarcas da Espanha que reinavam a região conhecida como Aragão, e aproveitara os louros de serem tão bem conectados à Coroa mesmo que não fossem ser herdeiros. O casal espanhol teve treze filhos, mas apenas Catalina e sua irmã mais velha Dolores sobreviveram até a juventude e por esta razão eram bastante mimadas por todos com quem conviviam e bons casamentos eram previstos para seus futuros. Sua infância, portanto, foi muito amorosa e recheada de alegrias junto à Dolores, que era sua maior companhia. Seriam seus últimos anos felizes.

Quando chegou o momento das meninas terem seus casamentos arranjados, foi escolhido para Catalina o Duque de Parma, Ferdinando, com ligações com o próprio rei da Espanha, um ótimo casamento para a menina, que apenas se importava em manter seu estilo de vida e conforto no luxo. Seu marido trancou-a por dias em suas masmorras, quando Catalina sentiu que estava próximo da morte e este seria seu fim, Ferdinando a forçou a tomar seu sangue vampiresco e a matou em seguida — iniciando a sua transformação para algo que jamais imaginou ser possível.

Quando acordou, estavam acompanhados de uma mulher ensanguentada, Ferdinando finalmente explicou toda a situação e ofereceu a escolha que Catalina teria que fazer, querendo que ela sentisse a culpa de matar uma pessoa imediatamente. Ele agia com muita cortesia com ela, oferecendo-a sangue e seus aposentos antigos, como se tudo que tivesse feito não estaria afetando a esposa, mas Catalina se apegou ao ódio em seu coração no momento de transição para lidar com o marido. Ela se alimentou da pobre mulher que estava sendo oferecida como gado, mas se vingou do marido assim que uma brecha foi oferecida empalhando-o no armário dos seus aposentos e deixando-o para apodrecer, inda que não morresse - pois Catalina sequer sabia como matar um vampiro completamente.

Após a sua fuga, Catalina viveu os seus melhores anos da sua vida imortal, experienciando a verdadeira liberdade de viver na sociedade, mas nunca pertencer, nunca deixar rastros. Após alguns meses sozinha, ela encontrou companhia com outros seres sobrenaturais, que ensinaram a jovem vampira como sua espécie funcionava e como sobreviver e aproveitar a sua segunda vida. Catalina viajou com muitos vampiros por alguns anos, aprendendo com eles como se misturar aos humanos e aos outros seres, mas sua amizade principal foi com uma bruxa que ela conheceu durante as suas viagens e formou uma profunda amizade até Catalina desenvolver sentimentos românticos por essa pessoa; tão profunda era a conexão que elas estavam desenvolvendo. Entretanto, Catalina ao longo dos anos deixou de ser aquela menina inocente e gentil que ela costumava ser — vampirismo transformou-a em uma criatura cruel que vez ou outra se divertia em aterrorizar humanos com outros vampiros, justificando totalmente suas atitudes na natureza de sua espécie. Essa atitude, porém, levou sua companheira bruxa a abandoná-la, mas não antes de levar o seu anel mágico que permitia que Catalina andasse sob o sol ao contrário dos outros vampiros. E essa foi a segunda traição que quebrou Catalina completamente e transformou ela nesse ser movido por vingança e sadismo.

Com sua liberdade completamente retirada e movida apenas por essa fúria incontrolável, restava para Catalina apenas uma opção: mudar-se para Arcanum, onde ao menos ela poderia viver uma existência miserável após o pôr do sol. Sua natureza não melhorou ao longos dos anos que viveu no vilarejo, especialmente porque irritava-se ao ter que seguir as leis de convivência com outros seres sobrenaturais e com humanos - que para ela existiam apenas para ser joguetes e alimentos para vampiros, nada mais. Por isso, ao mesmo tempo que cultivava sua carreira como principal e mais experiente corretora de imóveis da cidade, desenvolveu uma gangue do submundo com outros vampiros tão sanguinários e rebeldes como ela que sequestravam humanos para drenar seu sangue em segredo nos seus porões. Féericos também eram desejados, mas acontecia bem raramente e eles tinham que garantir que ele morreria de "causas naturais" de forma discreta depois. O sistema dependia de curá-los depois do ataque antes que eles morressem, mas alguns acidentes já aconteceram com essa gangue, que restava a Catalina resolver; mas nunca havia remorso.

Catalina continua sem um anel mágico e portanto frequenta a cidade apenas após o por do sol ou no interior de prédios; isto porque a sua rixa com as bruxas já é famosa na cidade. Existiram algumas tentativas de subornar, extorquir e ameaçar bruxas para lhe produzir um novo anel, mas sem nenhum êxito até o momento.

BEST EXPERIENCE: coming back to the rpc. i didn't think that i would miss it as much as i did. the moment i was able to write again and form dynamics with other writers was wonderful, and i do not think that i will be leaving the rpc anytime soon. my activity may be slow but y'all can be sure that i love being here and interacting with other muns again.

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS: asking me for a starter, not interacting with that starter, and then asking for another starter. this goes for asks too with repeated instances of not interacting with what i have written you. the interaction could either be on the post or in the dms. i understand that everyone has a life outside of the rpc so if this occurs occasionally then i get it. but repeated instances is grounds for hardblocking. i spend a lot of time writing even a simple paragraph, and for that to be ignored is hurtful.

i love out of character posts. i love reading what my mutuals are up to and any silly little thoughts that they have. however, if you're treating your blog as a personal blog without any signs of in character posts, then i might end up unfollowing you. i wouldn't say this is a pet peeve because i'm glad with however people are enjoying their experiences here, but this can be a dealbreaker when i'm mainly here to write.

MUSE PREFERENCES: i think i have a pretty broad spectrum of muses that i write. there are some patterns however, those being tragic blond haired men, depressing backstories, and silly little goobers. i enjoy characters who put on a silly facade while their past and lives haunt them, i love characters who smile while their lives crumble beneath their feet. jing yuan, boothill, and kaveh are all perfect examples of these themes and i find them absolutely fascinating to explore through interactions with other muns. when you dig deeper than just the surface, you find that they are not just smiles and jokes, and i eat that up.

PLOTS OR MEMES: i enjoy plotting immensely, and i enjoy sending in memes and being sent memes in return. honestly, i love the interactions and writings that come with rping as a whole. i do not think i have a preference so long as i get to enjoy what my muses are up to. i love throwing ideas back and forth with my fellow muns, and i love the occasional moments where i will take a meme and go crazy with replying to it.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: short replies are wonderful, fantastic, amazing, and you will see me continuously writing more than i thought i would asjfkasklfjsha. i don't have a preference for either, and i will always do my best to match my partner's length. i will say that threads with a shorter length will be replied to much faster.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: at night, or on my phone during the busiest hours of work. i don't know what it is where my brain likes to kickstart my writing mode during the most convenient times. i don't have a say in when my brain switches on creative mode either, which is why my activity is always abysmal, both ic and ooc.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): yes and no. it depends on what muses we're talking about including what aspects in particular. i can relate to kaveh in how he feels like the standards placed onto him are a shackle, and i can relate to his depression, his kindness, and his self deprecating tendencies. but i am not a people person, i will not go out of my way for everyone who crosses my path, i will not go above my means for the sake of others. kaveh has very little self preservation, whereas i have a lot. we can also talk about jing yuan in how he wishes for a simple life, sleeping the hours of the days away in bed, but i am no politician. a can relate to my muses only on some of their aspects. william is (unknowingly, at least) a little bit of a misogynist. not in the sense that he believes women are inherently lesser than him, but in the case of alexia ashford especially it is difficult for him to acknowledge when a woman has "one-upped" him due to his fragile ego and insecurity surrounding his own masculinity. it is a product of the environment he was raised in, not wanting to be seen as a "bitch" or whatnot for allowing a woman to outperform him. if you asked him, he'd tell you he's above such things and isn't some bigot who believes women can't do well in this field simply because they're women, and it's true. he does appreciate intelligent women (case in point: annette), but workplace misogyny did play a part in some of his thinking whether he realizes that or not. his hatred of alexia did also have a lot to do with the fact that she was younger than him, though. nothing was more infuriating to him than the fact that this fucking . actual ten year old was performing better than him, a grown ass man.

megumi can't handle criticism. — i don't think i can cross this out entirely; he definitely doesn't like to be wrong and doesn't like to know when he's done something wrong, and he will most likely say something if he immediately disagrees, but i think he does become very considerate of criticism and really tries to think through what the person criticizing him is really saying. he wants to improve and get stronger, so he tries to think rationally about critique — and then will keep what is useful and will toss out what isn't with some bias.

megumi desperately needs a hug but doesn't know it and refuses to ask for one. — he's kind of touch - averse but in the way that he's just afraid of it; in reality he's the exact opposite, desperate for comfort but unwilling to ask for it, and unwilling to deal with the fact that he might just get a good cry out of it.

both antonio and pam have always had busy jobs, which is why blaine was raised with the help of a nanny, the occasional au-pair and his paternal grandparents (aka his lolo and lola), and blaine often finds himself alone in an empty house. antonio always comes off as charming and amicable, albeit a bit reserved, at the many fundraisers and fancy dinner parties the andersons attend, but as a father he is strict and emotionally unavailable, with extremely high expectations. pam is bubbly, outgoing and always supportive of her sons, encouraging them to do what makes them happy. after having previously dated, pam and antonio got back together just a week after pam found out she was pregnant with cooper, so although antonio isn't his biological father, he has always been cooper's dad. while blaine is quite close to his mom, the relationship with his dad has always been somewhat strained, despite their many attempts at bonding. blaine sometimes can't help but feel like his father hopes that rebuilding a car with him might make him straight, and like it's only okay to be himself if he does it quietly. there have also been many fights between them over the summer about blaine's plans to apply to nyada, to the point where they aren't speaking to each other anymore at the moment. blaine isn't exactly close to his half-brother cooper either. blaine used to look up to his brother when he was little, but cooper has always been overly critical of blaine and would often push him into the background (both literally and figuratively) to be the centre of attention. cooper now lives in la and blaine wishes they were closer, but he has no idea where to even start when it comes to rebuilding a relationship with his brother.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓'𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐎𝐓𝐏 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐒? — for roleplay purposes, any character that my writing partner gets me obsessed about. if we're throwing specific characters at each other and the dynamic starts altering my brain cells enough, then trust that those two characters have taken up a slot in my brain and are living there rent free. i do not like going into rp with a set ship in my brain because that's no fun at all and i believe that both hinders and prevents dynamics from forming. this is not a jab at anyone else, i'm simply talking about my own preferences. i do not automatically subscribe to popular ships. as long as me and my writing partner are enjoying the dynamic that we're cooking up, then that is going to be my otp.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐏 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐈𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆? — i will write pretty much any themes and tropes so long as it gets my brain cells going aside from anything that can be considered dead dove (ie. i will not be writing nor engaging with incest, pedophillia, non-con). under no circumstances will i be writing adultery. while i love darker themes, cheating has always been a choice that has made me feel ill even in works of writing. it's a turn off and a quick way to make me uninterested in a dynamic altogether.

i am aware that i write sexual content on this blog, but i will never write hardcore bdsm. it's a squick of mine and i rather not engage with it. this is by no means me saying that i want purely vanilia ships because i love my darker themes. i love when characters are obsessed with their beloved, i love when their infatuation is so strong that it destroys them, i love when their devotion to their beloved burns them from the inside out until the love is all they know. i also really enjoy my sweeter and softer dynamics, where they will melt into their loves embrace and listen to the sound of their heart beat during a lazy afternoon. aside from the aforementioned topics, i'm up for writing anything.

𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆? — yes, absolutely. unless we are close friends and/or are talking about a dynamic quite often, then i prefer for our characters to have a build up through ic interactions. i love shipping, but again, please do not assume that i automatically ship popular ships. i want to see how my interpretation of a character will mesh with my writing partner's interpretation, and then we can feel out the dynamic from there. there will always be exceptions to this rule, as seen as when i get so obsessed over asks and whatnot.
