i’m starting to feel it again that whatever i’m supposedly “good” at doing is mediocre and i never know how to say this w/out sounding like im just fishing for compliments bc i already do get praise from friends and other ppl online. but like getting radio silence from everyone else is disconcerting. mediocrity just feels a lot worse than feeling like im just Bad at drawing, bc there’s something abt it that is unappealing but no one tells u since it’ technically not “bad” enough to warrant criticism. like idk if it has anything to do with the way i draw or the content.

a thing that rly personally irks me is when i go on the notes on posts encouraging others to reblog other peoples art insteado just liking it, and someones just like “then maybe dont make art for validation!! just do it for urself uwu” as if implying that all artists on social media don’t want to make a career out of it. as if the reason why they do want to get more notes is because getting your name out as an artist is easier and more widespread on the internet than it is to get an artist job irl, which still isnt saying much.
