Vanitas no Carte Anime

It's... it's actually happening. We're getting an anime! I'd like to thank the three people (pinkpixxie, @thiective, and my sister @skylights422) who sent me an immediate notification to let me know this was happening; you guys understand exactly what I've been waiting for. XD

I watched it and I felt very emotional, not going to lie. I remember saying once Studio BONES would make good sense for adapting VNC, but I kind of... didn't think it would actually happen. I am perfectly happy to be proven wrong. Judging by what we're seeing in the video I think we're going to get to at least the beginning section of the Bal Masqué arc. I heard we're only getting 12 episodes (?) so I think we probably don't want to go a whole lot further than that if we want to avoid rushing things a great deal.

I now want to look at some of what the teaser has shown us and go into a few of my hopes and worries. The teaser itself seems to cover only the very first chapter of the manga. That might not sound like much, but we have to remember that the first two volumes of VNC are unusually large. As such, I think this season (and I'm really, really hoping there's a season 2) will cover the first two volumes of the series. This would actually be a pretty good stopping point as far as cliffhangers go: We get some of Noé's past and end with Vanitas's "betrayal" where he kills rather than save that girl at the Bal Masqué. Also,it would mean we get a whole season for the Catacombs arc, which is exactly what that arc deserves, so I'm very hopeful that's what they do.

As for the teaser itself, it's just covering the first chapter, which makes me think we might be getting a two-parter just for that? Here are a host of images to demonstrate this.

That last image took me a bit to find its parallel in the manga but it's this one here:

It's as Noé is falling and thinking about the blue moon he and Vanitas both witness and he remembers how it's a sign of misfortune and yet he's always found it beautiful. None of this really proves all this is a two-parter, but... maybe a really long first episode? I don't know, I have a hard time estimating how many chapters you can fit in an episode, especially when the chapters are kind of long. XD Anyway, the rest of the images depict Vanitas using the book, Amelia becoming a malnomen, and all the events on La Baleine.

Now that I look at the last shot a little more closely, it's odd that the anime changed the forest to a city. I wonder why. Maybe it's transitioning from the city of Paris to the forest of Noé's memories...?

Now for a few other thoughts: The voices match the archetypes really well! They don't sound quite how I imagined in my mind but they're also a lot closer than I thought they'd be, so I'm super excited. (^^) The animation is pretty good (well, it's BONES, so...) but it doesn't quite capture the nuance of Mochizuki's characters' expressions. Maybe a bit of a tall order for a studio. XD Really, the animation is excellent, I'm just feeling particular. The music is... cheerier than expected for a series like this, but I like the song. I wonder if this is the opening theme or ending theme or just a teaser choice...?

Overall, BONES is a great choice; they've done several anime I love. But they also have a tendency of making things... darker or edgier than they already were, which is sometimes a thing I like and other times not so much. I'm hoping they are faithful to the manga in this regard and don't try to toss in any extra fan service (they better not do Jeanne dirty) or alter things in any questionable way. I know I'm now sounding very critical, but I just... really want this to be good. I want to enjoy it so much and I am truly excited, but I'm trying to be a little cautious. (^^)"

Even if the anime isn't perfect, there are a lot of good things that are going to come of it: I suspect all the scenes with Noé and Vanitas will be excellent and we're going to get an influx of fans, which can only be good. Ahh, I really love that thought!

Overall, I'm super excited and this is all I'm going to be thinking about until summer. XD I mean, I'm already thinking about VNC all the time, but now I have even more stuff related to it to think about! I really can't wait to watch that first episode and then watch it again and again and again. :D

O Textus Receptus (texto recebido) é uma compilação dos textos gregos do Novo Testamento contidos nos manuscritos bizantinos, que são cópias provenientes dos próprios textos dos apóstolos.

Estes manuscritos foram intensamente utilizados pelas igrejas primitivas (até o século 19 era quase que o único texto utilizado, e ainda hoje é o texto mais completo do Novo Testamento).

Quais versões da Bíblia utilizam o textus receptus como base de tradução?

As duas traduções da Bíblia em português brasileiro que utilizam 100% do textus receptus como base são a King James Fiel 1611 (KJF) e a Almeida Corrigida Fiel (ACF).

A Almeida Revista e Corrigida (ARC) também o utiliza, mas num grau menor do que as duas anteriores, e a Almeida Revista e Atualizada (ARA) num grau menor ainda do que a ARC.

O item mais importante de se notar no textus receptus é de onde ele surgiu, pois antes de se existir textus receptus existiam os manuscritos bizantinos, e antes de se existirem os manuscritos bizantinos existiam, obviamente, os escritos originais dos apóstolos, e/ou os aceitos por eles.

As traduções modernas da Bíblia Sagrada como Nova Versão Internacional (NVI), Nova Almeida Atualizada (NAA), Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje (NTLH), King James Atualizada (KJA), Tradução do Novo Mundo (TNM), dentre outras, utilizaram como base para sua tradução (do Novo Testamento) principalmente o códice Vaticanus e o Códice Sinaiticus, mas alguns outros manuscritos também são usados.

Os problemas destes dois manuscritos são as muitas faltas que há em seu conteúdo, além de ambos contradizerem ou discordarem um do outro em centenas de passagens bíblicas.

Já foi constatado que só nos evangelhos eles possuem cerca de 3000 discordâncias entre si.

Diferentemente dos mais de 5000 manuscritos bizantinos, que tem somente 0,2% de variações em suas palavras (menos de 300 palavras, de 140.000 que compõem o Novo Testamento).

O teólogo Erasmo de Roterdão foi quem compilou, isto é, reuniu em um só texto, todos os textos destes manuscritos bizantinos, e fez a publicação de um único texto grego do Novo Testamento, em 1516.

A impressão dos textos foi realizada graças a prensa móvel, já utilizada desde o século anterior.

De onde vieram exatamente os manuscritos bizantinos?

Em 1453, eruditos saíram do Oriente Médio para o Ocidente (continente europeu), fugindo da perseguição islâmica. Eles trouxeram consigo um conjunto de mais de 5000 manuscritos, em que cada um continha partes ou todo o Novo Testamento.

Eles são chamados manuscritos bizantinos porque tem ligação com as igrejas que estavam no Império Bizantino (parte oriental do império romano, veja o mapa mais abaixo).

Estes manuscritos são provenientes de Antioquia da Síria, cidade que foi a segunda sede do cristianismo (depois de Jerusalém), que nasceu após a perseguição contra a igreja, depois da morte de Estêvão (At 11:19-24).

Em Antioquia da Síria foi também onde os discípulos foram pela primeira vez chamados de cristãos (At 11:26), onde também se reuniam vários apóstolos, mestres e discípulos de Cristo como Barnabé, Silas, o próprio apóstolo Paulo, dentre outros (At 13:1).

Foi lá que Paulo e Barnabé receberam seu chamado missionário, e era para onde voltavam depois de fazerem suas viagens missionárias (At 13:1,2; 14:23-28; 18:22-23).

A igreja de Antioquia também recebeu a visita do apóstolo Pedro por certo tempo (Gl 2:11-12), além disso tinha consentimento de todos os apóstolos e presbíteros de Jerusalém em suas atividades (At 15:1-2,4-6,22-23; 21:17-20);

é lá que foi decidido que os cristãos gentios não precisariam circuncidar-se e nem guardar outros costumes religiosos das leis do Antigo Testamento, visto que Deus já os havia aceitado, dando-lhes o Espírito Santo e justificando-os por meio da fé em Cristo, e não da prática de cerimônias religiosas do antigo pacto (At 15:5-35); mas deveriam, obviamente, conservar a pureza de coração, a santidade a integridade para com Deus (Estude Atos 15 e o contexto das viagens missionárias de Paulo para compreender melhor).

Com todo este histórico, é de se esperar que os textos contidos nos manuscritos bizantinos eram de maior confiança do que quaisquer outros, pois eram cópias dos escritos dos apóstolos e tinham rotatividade por toda aquela região, tendo aprovação direta dos apóstolos e dos mais fiéis discípulos do Senhor.

Diferentemente dos códices Vaticanus e Sinaiticus, que além do problema das contradições entre si mesmos, tiveram sua origem em Alexandria, no Egito, local onde não houve presença dos apóstolos em seu tempo;

Por isso tratam-se de cópias mal construídas, pouco utilizadas e praticamente descartadas pelas igrejas primitivas, por isso são tão antigos (aproximadamente do século 4), mas ainda assim consideravelmente conservados.

Além disso também tinham textos de má qualidade devido a certa quantidade de palavras faltando, linhas, passagens e até livros inteiros do Novo Testamento (que é o caso do Códice Vaticanus, que não tem o livro de Apocalipse, as cartas pastorais – 1ª e 2ª Timóteo e Tito, além de Filemom – nem o final do evangelho de Marcos, isto é, capítulo 16 à partir do versículo 9 não existe).

Ambos os códices alexandrinos foram encontrados inutilizados!

O códice Vaticanus foi encontrado por volta do século 15, abandonado num monastério no Vaticano, mas hoje faz parte de sua biblioteca; e o códice Sinaitucus foi encontrado por volta de 1844-1850, no Mosteiro de Santa Catarina, na península do Sinai (e está atualmente no Museu Britânico).

Situação bem diferente dos manuscritos bizantinos, que ainda eram largamente utilizados pelas igrejas, e até o século 19 era o texto padrão do Novo Testamento, e apesar do texto não ter perdido seu valor, as traduções bíblicas modernas tem preferido basear-se nos dois códices citados (dentre outros) por serem (supostamente) mais antigos do que os manuscritos bizantinos, portanto julgam serem mais fiéis aos escritos originais.

Veja no mapa abaixo a origem dos dois grupos de manuscritos: os bizantinos (Antioquia da Síria) e os alexandrinos (de Alexandria, no Egito):

Toda a área de rosa fazia parte do império bizantino (Roma Ocidental) no tempo de Cristo e dos apóstolos.

O nome império bizantino era derivado de sua capital, a cidade de Bizâncio, também destacada em vermelho no mapa, que em 330 d. C. passou a chamar-se Constantinopla.

Note pela seta vermelha indicativa para onde os discípulos fugiram com a perseguição à igreja em Jerusalém, após a morte de Estêvão, isto é, foram para Antioquia da Síria, onde uma nova sede do cristianismo surgiu, além das cidades aos arredores (Atos 11:19-24).

Em direção oposta onde ficava Alexandria do Egito.

A cidade de Antioquia da Síria é a atual Antáquia, na Turquia.

Por este “caminho” surgiu o textus receptus, a “reunião” dos textos dos manuscritos bizantinos em um único texto impresso contendo todo o Novo Testamento em grego koiné, a língua oficial do tempo dos apóstolos (também a que escreveram suas cartas e os evangelhos).

Erasmo, primeiro a compilar o textus receptus, por Hans Holbein, o Jovem.

Sob a base do mesmo texto, João Ferreira de Almeida fez sua tradução da Bíblia entre 1681 e 1753, em português; sendo que a única tradução 100% baseada no textus receptus é a Almeida Corrigida Fiel (a Almeida Revista e Corrigida é quase 100% baseada nele, a Revista e Atualizada é menos ainda).

Da mesma forma, o rei James (1566-1625 d.C.), da Inglaterra, publicou sua tradução (King James Version) em 1611, que até hoje é a Bíblia mais lida no idioma inglês, praticamente a Bíblia padrão deste idioma.

Sua versão em português é a King James Fiel, publicada pela editora BV Books.

A única diferença “gritante” entre os manuscritos bizantinos e o textus receptus é um trecho de 1 João 5:7-8, que não continha nos manuscritos bizantinos, mas foi trazido para o textus receptus de outro(s) manuscrito(s).

Para finalizar este estudo bíblico, quero esclarecer que não é de todo ruim usar traduções modernas da bíblia sagrada, eu uso a NVI e a KJA por exemplo, dentre outras, pois elas trazem alguns versículos de forma mais clara e fácil de entender.

Eu gosto de ler a NVI, por exemplo, porque ela tem uma leitura nem um pouco cansativa, se comparada às versões tradicionais de Almeida (ARC e ARA). que usam um português mais antigo, com palavras antiquadas e com uma gramática mais difícil de entender.

Tanto a NVI como a KJA (e também a NAA), na minha opinião, são ótimas para uma leitura devocional e para uma leitura de fácil entendimento ao público.

Para saber um pouco mais, leia o estudo 2 motivos porque a Bíblia NVI é boa, e 2 porque não é.

Quero dizer, porém, aos obreiros(as) que trabalham com o ensino/pregação da Palavra, que considero indispensável conhecer as principais diferenças entre as traduções bíblicas para utilizar apenas os textos mais fiéis ao texto original grego/hebraico, então use as traduções modernas com cuidado, conhecendo os textos que estão ausentes de certos conteúdos (baixe aqui o ebook que vai mostrá-los).
