the monk meticulously drags ichimonji from one end to another of the canvas, a long streak of black left behind from his calligraphy. ichibe wasn't alone however. the air of rot and death settled next to him, but ichibe was quite familar with the artist by now. wide, unblinking excitedly darts from his paper to his companion.
"oooh, are you going to share your ever-growing art process with me this time, nobutsuna? I'd be real happy, ya know!"

"Good for you?" he exclaims but his tone is quizzical. an awkward silence fills the space between them. the only sound is the whisk of his paintbrush against the parchment on the floor, his harsh gaze refuses to meet hers.
"you make it sound like you want me to change your mind!" until suddenly, he speaks. frankly, everything was meant to happen for a reason, either a good one or a bad one. the only thing was it didn't have anything to do with the monk. ichibei stops his motion suddenly, wide unblinking gaze meets momos suddenly. he tilts his head to the side slightly.
"I ask you one thing, young one! are you happy with your choice?"
