Starter for @multxfacies based on this
This was the last place Dani wanted to be, after all, she'd left the relationship for a reason. A shitty reason, but a reason nonetheless. She'd felt like her and Rhys were getting too serious, and she was too afraid that he'd be interested in taking the next step and propose, so she left. She probably should have reached out and explained herself, and she absolutely should have reached out when she'd taken the pregnancy test and it was positive and she definitely should've reached out when she'd made the wild decision to keep the baby. But no, she'd never reached out any of those times she should have.
Instead she'd been raising their child Raelynn by herself, and doing a pretty damn decent job if she did say so herself. But at 3 years old, Rae had started asking about her dad, and like a cruel twist of fate, Dani was planning a wedding back in the town that Rhys still lived. Rather than accidentally run into him, she figured it was better to meet him on her own terms, despite how desperately she didn't want to. The hand that wasn't holding Raelynn's knocked on the door, and she silently prayed for no answer, but she wasn't so lucky as the door opened. God, how was it possible that he looked even better than he had when they were together.
Her lower lip instantly darted between her teeth. "Uh, hey Rhys..." she started, not able to get much more out than that before the little brunette at her feet was peeking out behind her legs. "Who are you?" she piped up.

The brunette stayed quiet for a moment, actually contemplating his question. Did she like it? It paid the bills, and she supposed despite her own cynicism about love and relationships - she did like it. "Yeah," she responded after a moment. "I guess I actually do." she finished with a slight shrug of her slim shoulders. A light chuckle left her even as she nodded. "Uh huh." Sure, he'd try new foods, but she still recalled just how much of a task getting him out of his comfort zone to actually do so had been when they were together. Dani couldn't help the small smile that lifted the corner of her lips as the familiar music filled the space around them. Daniel's question and the music brought an odd feeling of nostalgia to the brunette as she recalled countless nights in the bed of this very truck with the dirty blonde beside her, playlists they'd made for each other the soundtrack as they'd made love under the stars. Dani physically shook her head to clear the memories, clearing her throat. "Uh, some of it, yeah. It's timeless for a reason, right?" she offered, forcing a slight chuckle as she turned her head to look away from him and out the window.
"Do you like it?" He wasn't sure why he cared whether or not she'd found happiness in her career. They had ended poorly and he shouldn't care about what was going on in her life. Daniel couldn't help but be curious though. And maybe a small part of him still cared. "Hey now, I'll try new foods. I just know what I like, too." As she hit the button to turn on the radio, the local rock station filled the cab of his truck. "Turns out that hasn't changed much either. What about you, Dani? Still listen to the tracks of our youth?"

What's crazy is that Barristan has the character development that people pretend Jaime has but because he supports Dany and doesn't spend all of his page time talking/thinking about how evil Targaryens are, it gets ignored
#daenerys targaryen#barristan selmy#how do you get outsold by a side character who doesn't even have a POV in the first few books? 🤨#embarrassing tbh but then that's Jaime in a nutshell so it fits#if he was written the /exact/ same way but supported Stannis?? people would be writing essays on how brilliant his character is#instead he doesn't tell Dany how horrible Rhaegar is every 2 seconds so people have decided that he's just a delusional old man#one of the characters with the most experience regarding rulers and he gets ignored cause people disagree with him sdjsfksdkds#barristan: goes to Dany in disguise so that he can judge her character cause he wants to redeem himself and serve a worthy ruler#+ is the one to tell her about her father's madness fandom: he refuses to acknowledge any of his mistakes or have honest convos with Dany 😔#I just have to laugh cause literally the only reason is that he validates Dany's ruling arc and people can't stand it 😭

Starter for @missautumn based on: planning a celebrity wedding and whoops we actually know each other, how has it been so long, and where did this chemistry come from?
Despite the fact that Dani had done a few celebrity weddings, it was still a surprise to her anytime she got contracted to do one. Sure, she knew she was good at what she did, but oftentimes she was excellent at selling herself short in her talents. Still, somehow she had the knack for managing petty immature celebrities who wanted all their love dreams to come true, and so here she was.
The brunette steeled herself with a deep breath, the first time meeting the couple was always one of the most important. Sure, even though she had the job, it was key that the people actually getting married liked her as well. As she walked over, a forced, yet effortless looking smile on her lips, it dipped slightly when the groom turned around and her brows furrowed slightly, grateful he seemed to be alone for a moment as recognition crossed her features. She hadn't seen him in years. "Wait...this is your wedding?"
#dani convo#dany ft tbd#let me know if you'd like me to make any changes!#also don't feel like you have to match length!

The fact that Dani was in a relationship was a surprise in itself considering she didn't think love was something worth pursuing in the first place, but Dustin's persistence had worn down all her defenses and much to her own surprise, she was happy. But now this, this stupid test, this stupid positive test. She felt physically ill, and she was sure that it wasn't just due to the hormones. They had agreed they didn't want kids; she wasn't interested in fucking up another human the way her parents had her. Yet, here she was. She'd gone out to grocery shop to get her mind off it, returning she called out to the male, though she stopped dead when she noticed the test she'd discarded in his hand. Her mouth opened and closed without any words uttered before she opened again. "Uh, n-no. It's - it's mine." She'd only taken it a few hours ago, she hadn't even had time to properly process yet, let alone consider how she was going to tell Dustin. "I just found out..." she offered, not wanting him to think it was a secret she'd been sitting on for more than the last few hours.
— open starter : scenario - we agreed we didn’t want kids, but I found your hidden pregnancy test, what are we gonna do now? ( muse - dustin simmons, 37, lemme know if you want me to switch muses opp: 30+ )
This was the last time he’d go digging in the trash, even if he thought he had dropped something. The trash wasn’t a good place for a pregnancy test regardless, so maybe it wasn’t really his fault. Still, he couldn’t help but stare at it until he heard her voice, tightening his grip as he went to meet her. A few feet away, he stopped, waiving the stick so she knew he had found it. “One of your friends, are they pregnant?” He could only hope.

no, ‘girlboss’ is not a valid criticism of a female character, *especially* if you’re only using it in relation to women who fight outside the constraints of an inherently corrupt system. you’re just a misogynist.
#asoiaf#daenerys targaryen#rhaenyra targaryen#pro daenerys targaryen#pro rhaenyra targaryen#the patronization of dany/nyra’s ‘girlboss’ moments is *astounding*#stfu and never speak on them again thanks#if we want to narrow in on that route#maybe we should have a convo on the victimization of their counterparts instead 🤷♀️

dani was tuning her guitar for the third time just to have something to do with her hands, stealing glances across the stage. she strummed a few idle chords, soft and slow, letting the sound drift lazily into the empty arena. “you know,” she called, flashing a crooked grin as their eyes met, “if you keep looking at me like that during soundcheck, i’m gonna start thinking you actually like my playing.” it was half a joke, but her smile faltered for just a beat, enough to show there was more under the surface. the shared looks in dressing room mirrors, fingers brushing in green room hallways, the way her voice softened when she said dani’s name. flicking the amp off with the heel of her boot, dani slung the guitar over her shoulder and crossed the stage with practiced ease, stopping just shy of too close. “if you’re not dead on your feet after this, you wanna hang out? Could use some fresh air, maybe a walk, maybe just a hotel balcony and shitty beer from room service.” she said with a little shrug of her shoulders, trying to keep her cool. “you in?”

A full burst of a surprised laugh left the brunette when he said plainly how they'd already gone far past a simple meeting, and she willed a flush not to reach her cheeks as she released his hand and ran hers through her long dark locks. "I guess we have." she allowed, the corners of her lips twisting into a slight smirk as she watched him lean back against the couch.
She mimicked his position, though her legs curled up underneath her and she couldn't help her growing smirk at his words. Dani nodded slightly. "Nothing sexier than someone whose prepared." she teased, reaching one of her feet out to poke his leg playfully. Was she interested in seeing him again? She honestly wasn't sure, she hadn't even intended on seeing him a second time, yet here she was, teasing and talking with him like it was the most natural thing in the world.
A small chuckle fell from the brunette's lips as she shook her head, an amused grin resting on her features. "I dunno. The conversation's okay." she offered, hoping the heat she felt on her cheeks wasn't showing as a blush before dark hues lifted back to meet his eyes. "I do like a fancy mug, though I don't know that that would change the taste of what's inside." she teased, taking another bite of the bacon on her plate before she leaned over and set the plate on the table, opting for the cup of water. Dani took a sip before continuing. "What makes you so gung-ho for team tea anyway?" she asked, her tone teasing, her lips still slightly curled at the edges in a soft grin.
Sam’s grin didn’t waver as she took his hand, her teasing introduction drawing a soft chuckle from him. “Dani,” he repeated, his tone warm and laced with amusement. “Coffee-preferring, breakfast-eating, shot-smashing, rule-knowing, and all-around wonderful house guest. Quite the résumé. I’d say it’s nice to properly meet you, but… feels like we’ve skipped a few steps, doesn’t it?”
His dimple deepened as he let her hand go, his gaze lingering on hers. “And for the record,” he added, leaning back slightly against the couch with his mug in hand, “I didn’t plan on a next time. I just figured it was worth noting, you know, in case you decide I make the cut for round three. Presumptuous? Maybe. But I’m nothing if not prepared.”
He took a slow sip of his tea, his expression turning playful again. “Though I gotta admit, I’m curious now—if coffee’s still the reigning champion, what’s it gonna take to bump tea up the list? Better conversation? Fancier mugs?” He shot her a mock-serious look, his light tone perfectly balancing the easy banter they’d fallen into. “Or should I just start adding sugar and hope for the best?”

where: emil's house who: @emilianodelacruz & salvador de la cruz
It should’ve been more surprising that Enzo Barone was dead — but honestly? That wasn’t the part that had Salvador scratching his head. The second he saw his father’s body sprawled out on the floor of the Manor, surrounded by the rest of the council, he figured Enzo was either already gone or wouldn’t be far behind. Proof of life or not, Salvador knew a ghost when he saw one. If he wasn’t in the room with the others, it was only a matter of time. But Camila Barone? Killing her own father? That’s where the story lost him. And it had nothing to do with allegiance. Cami could be cruel, sure, but she wasn’t careless. She wasn’t dumb. And stabbing her own father to death on the deck of a yacht, in the middle of a party full of witnesses? That wasn’t just messy, it was practically suicidal.
“What I don’t understand is—why now?” Salvador remarked, voice low. “Why kill Enzo Barone now and force a council vote?” He sat back in the teak chair on Emil’s deck, sunlight catching on the rim of his wine glass as he swirled the deep red liquid with absent focus. His sunglasses were pushed just low enough to allow for that unmistakable look — pointed, calculating. Sal had spent the past few days trying to piece it all together, but the logistics weren’t adding up. Timing was off, motives murky -- and he hated that. Turning his gaze to Emil, Sal studied his cousin for a moment. “What do you think?” he asked, like a challenge hidden in curiosity. “About all of it. What we’ve got in front of us.” He wasn’t trying to test Emil, not exactly. But pushing him a little? Seeing how his mind moved under pressure? That was tradition by this point. And plus, maybe it would give him some insight he wasn't considering.

"no te estaba escuchando."

where: sea shanty shack
“I guess the upside to business being slow is being able to look out at the ocean.” Darcy shrugged as she leaned against the table she’d just finished cleaning. The restaurant was right on the beach and had an amazing view of the water. “The ocean is so beautiful but so terrifying. I mean you have no idea what’s lurking in there. Have you seen those TikToks about that anglerfish? Everyone’s so sad for her but I’m sitting here thinking, isn’t that a bad omen? What’s a deep sea fish doing rising to the surface? I don’t know much about omens but if it was one it feels like it’s not a good one.”

She listened as he spoke and another laugh left her lips as she nodded. "Now see, that's exactly where I had put you before they out voted me." she teased, watching as he shivered dramatically. It seemed almost unfair, how easily they were able to pick things up as though no time had passed between them. It made her wonder why he hadn't reached out sooner, or rather, why she hadn't let herself do any reaching out either. Dani chuckled as he looked down at himself as though he didn't quite believe her compliment.
The brunette shook her head slightly, "Hey now, you already got the compliment, don't fish for more." she joked, scrunching her nose up at him teasingly. He noticed the photographer before she did, so when he moved closer it took her a moment to adjust, and she did her best to put her practiced smile onto her lips for the photo. It was like when he was that close, it was easy for the door with all of her old memories of them to unlock and flood her mind, and right now, she would've preferred to keep it closed, or at least, she thought she did. His question pulled her from her thoughts and she shook her head instantly. "Oh, uh no." She wasn't about to launch into how she hardly dated, how he was one of the last people she'd actually been able to see herself with. Instead she returned the question. "What about you? Did you take advantage of the plus one on the invite?"
He couldn't deny that it felt good to hear her laugh, especially when he was the cause of it. Was it really that easy? All of this anxiety in his head and then the moment he got around her it felt as easy as breathing. "Yeah they kind of enhance each other's deviousness if that's even a word. But I'm not complaining at all, better than being seated next to Jeremy's cousins. No matter how old we get they still act like we're 15 and I would like to get drunk tonight without wedgies or wet Willy's." He shivered at the thought and took a sip of his drink.
"You think?" He looked at himself and smiled. "I'm glad you think so. I bought a new suit for this. Can't be the reason the photos don't come out nice." As he said it, the photographer came around to take a photo of the table and Clark leaned in closer to Dani as the picture was taken. He did his best to stay still, slightly affected by the familiarity of her scent and all the memories it brought up for him. He wondered if she thought about those times as much as he did. Clark shook himself out of his daydreams though as he pulled away and went back to his drink. "So uh, no date? Or did they just not make the cut to make it as a wedding date?"

ngl I think I might change gabriel to my canon warden 🧍♀️
#i love nalah with my whole heart but she never wanted to be a warden and i do believe she’d hit da bricks#while gabriel would also get conscripted but sticks out his duty. right down to the ritual. and not following into the eluvian#(ngl i think a convo with nathaniel in awakening where he finds out gabriel was also conscripted would be fun to explore)#(also if he learns that gabriel planned to take back his mom’s ship in amaranthine and raze the howes to ash on the waking sea)#(moments when you realize you’re bonded in mutual trauma and vengeance by each other’s blood and accidentally became friends)#anyway. and instead of vanishing he’d join the inquisition not only to stay by leliana but use resources for the cure search#(and replaces c*llen as commander lol)#(also comical to me the hoops blackwall would be doing to dodge close examination of his warden-ness)#then all the guilt around duty and how he feels about family vs his perceived neglect of kieran by being absent his life#because gabriel sees kieran as his son but doesn’t think he’s earned the right to *be* his father#he chose the wardens over him - he chose not to follow morrigan#but then kieran is there. and well.#as y’all can see i’m rotating so many thoughts around him the more i play DAI lmao#dani plays dragon age#game: dragon age#oc: gabriel cousland
