While she didn't realize how disheveled she looked, Tater's reaction to the sight of her brought Hakkona pause.

"Yeah, I'm okay... I just woke up, is all. I didn't mean to get so tired all of a sudden, Tater. Do I look bad or-" Looking at her reflection, her realization would cause the Saiyaness's cheeks to turn a pinkish hue, before she turned back to her Rabbit friend with a nervous smile. "Is it okay if I straighten myself up? I know we had plans to do something today, and I hope I didn't get up too late!"

Heroism tended to keep a man busy, especially when it was taken as seriously as Shuen allowed it to be. As often as he was occupied with his duties, though, he somehow managed to make time to stop by a lovely friend's coffee shop; swearing to make time for more than a routine pick-me-up. Lo and behold, then, the redheaded male would be arriving just outside Tater's coffee shop; dusting some cat hair off of himself, from getting one out of a tree.

If his timing was right, she'd likely be free around this time; his own obligations taken care of, for the time being. If she was there, he'd likely end up spotting her and waving; waiting for an approach so that the two could interact with one another!

Eddie POV My phone starts ringing and I look down to see Olivia's face. "Who is Olivia, and why do you seem upset?" Venom asks. "She's an old friend, she only calls when she needs me to do something for her." I grumble before answering the call. "Hello?" I ask. "Eddie, thank God." She sighs out relieved. It sounds like something is wrong. "Liv, you alright?" "Yes, I'm fine, but-and I know you probably don't want to and no you don't owe me anything but please listen." She begs breathlessly. "Alright, what's wrong?" She's frantic and that is unusual for Olivia. "I need you to go get my friend. She's just got into a really really bad fight with her boyfriend, I don't know how bad, but it's bad enough she called me at work to come get her because he left and she's terrified, please Eddie, please." "If she got into a fight with her boyfriend don't you think maybe that's their business?" I sigh rubbing my hands over my face. "No, it's not that type of fight, not an argument. Eddie, please, he beat the shit out of her before he left and she's locked in the closet waiting on me to come get her, but I have a surgery in 15 minutes and I don't have time, please Eddie, I will owe you big. She needs help. I'm begging you." Olivia rushes out. "Could be time for a snack, let's go." "Seriously...." I grumble to Venom. "Yes, Eddie, seriously she needs help and if I could go I would but I can't and you are the only one I trust to go get her if her douchebag ex decides to come back." Olivia says. "Alright, fine, send me the address." I sigh out. She lets out another sigh of relief. "Thank you. Now I'm going to warn you whatever you see over there keep your cool, because she gets scared very easily, she's been through a lot. Her name is Lillianna." Olivia says. "Yeah, alright send me the address, tell her I'm coming so I don't scare the hell out of the poor girl." I say. She hangs up and I press my head into the palms of my hand. "Are we going to sit here or are we going to get my snack?" "No eating anyone when we get there, and I need you to talk as little as possible, I don't want to scare her." I say pulling money out of my wallet and putting it on the diner table.

Lillianna POV My phone suddenly starts ringing and I jump dropping the object on the closet floor. I shakily reach over to pick the phone up before feeling relief flood my tired body as I answer Olivia's call. "Hello?"I whisper shakily. "Lilly, honey, I'm sorry, I can't get away from work I have an emergency surgery scheduled in 10 minutes, but my friend Eddie is going to come get you and take you to his place until I get off then I'll come get you and take you back to my apartment, okay?" "Okay." I breathe out. "It's going to be okay. When you get to his place I want you to call the police, and-" "No, Olivia, I can't. If I do he'll find me and he'll...." "Honey, you'll be with me he won't hurt you." "No, he knows where you live.... I can't. "Okay, calm down don't get all worked up again just be calm Eddie, will be there soon. He's very nice he won't let anything happen to you okay?" Olivia says as if talking to a frightened child. Which is what I feel like right now. My face, legs, arms.... my body is in so much pain and I am frightened, I'm terrified that this Eddie guy won't get here before Nick does. "Alright. Now just stay calm til Eddie gets there. Is the front door unlocked?" "Yes. It should be still open." I admit. "Okay, then stay where you are and he'll be there really soon. I have to go get ready. I'll be there around 10:00 tonight." She says. "Okay, thank you Olivia."

After a 20 minutes I hear footsteps in the apartment. "Hello? Anyone here?" A deep voice calls. It doesn't sound like Nick so I slowly open the door of my hiding space to peek out. There's a man in a black leather jacket, biker boots, and black jeans standing in the middle of my destroyed bedroom. "Lillianna?" He calls out. I open the door up until it hits the lain over dresser in front of it and grab my backpack before shuffling out where he can see me. He looks taken aback at my disheveled appearance. "Are you Eddie?" I ask barely above a whisper. He nods slowly with his hands raise in front of him. "Olivia called me, said you needed help. You are Lillianna yeah?" I nod slowly and pull my backpack on. "Okay, come let's get you out of here, sweet heart." He says gently. He reaches for me to help me over the toppled over dressed and I can't help but flinch. "I'm not going to hurt you, alright, just gonna help you." He reaches over again and I carefully grab his hand letting him pull me up and over before setting me on the floor. "Come on, let's go before he get's back yeah?" He says. I nod getting ready to walk out into the hallway when I hear the back door slam. My heart stops and I look back at Eddie fearfully. "He's back." I choke out. He carefully pushes me behind him "Bunny Rabbit, I brought you a surprise to say I'm sorry." I hear Nick call. I cringe at the sick nick name he gave me. Eddie slowly pushes forward down the hallway to the top of the stair looking back to see if I'm still right behind him. He puts his index finger to his lip indicating for me to be quiet. I nod quickly and he takes another step. "Bunny, baby, I'm sorry I got so upset, I can't help it that you can't cook or clean... Or be useful at all... I expect a hot meal when I come home from work sweet heart." A hot tears makes a trail down my face. "I see yo didn't learn your lesson because you didn't clean up the mess you made me make." He says. I know that tone of voice... He's getting angry again. "Bunny. When I find you it's going to be so much worse if you don't just come out an d clean everything up." He says with a harsh finiality. I take a deep quivering breath and Eddie looks back. "Come on." He says grabbing my hand tightly. He rushes down the stairs with me right behind him and out the front door not bothering to close it. There is a motorcycle parked out front and he climbs on. "It's okay, Lillianna, get on." He says handing me a helmet. I put it on before quickly climbing on the back. He revvs the engine to life and we take off down the street. I have a death grip around his waist terrified of falling off. After about 30 minutes he pulls off into an alley way before removing his helmet. "Are you okay?" He asks gently. I nod furiously against his back still not letting go. "We're here you can let go now." He says gently. I carefully unwind my arms from around him before climbing off the bike. "Alright, let's get you inside." He says putting his keys in his pocket. I follow him in the building. As we walk up the stairs he's muttering to himself and I can't help but get a little scared. When we get to his apartment he runs around gathering the clothes and empty take out containers to put them in the trash and bedroom. "Sorry not used to having guests over." He says more take out plates to the trash. "I didn't mean to ruin your night." I say standing in the door way. "No, you didn't I just, um, I'm never home so I never have anytime to clean..." "Oh." Is all I manage to say. "Are you hungry? I've got, uh, chocolate, I got tater tots, and tater tots.. and more tater tots,and more chocolate. I could call in a pizza." He offers. I let a small smile form on my face as he puts the obscene amounts of tater tots and chocolate chips back in the freezer. "I'm fine, but thank you." I say quietly. I'm still standing in the doorway when he looks over. "Oh, come on in, Lillianna, your fine. I'm not completely crazy." He jokes opening the fridge. "I'm gonna call in a pizza what kind do you want?" He asks closing the fridge. "No, I'm fine thank you Eddie, I don't wanna be a bother." "No bother I'm starving, you like cheese, pepperoni, the place down the block and the best bacon and cheese pizza." He says. "That sounds good." I sit down on the couch still slightly uncomfortable.

Eddie POV The girl looks about ready to jump out of her skin. Her face, neck, arms, and legs have dark bruises on them some older than others that are turning a sickening brown- yellow color. "She is pretty. Is she our now?" Venom asks. I let out an irrated sigh that make Lillianna look over at me in a fearful way. "Sorry, can't find my phone I could have swore I put it on the bar." I lie. She relaxes slightly and I fake like I found the phone. She gives me a small smile and my heart aches when she winces in pain. “Why did we not eat the man that hurt her?” “I’m gonna step outside to call in that pizza, better reception in the hallway. I walk outside and shut the door tightly before leaning against the wall. “Because she’s not our, she’s a friend, we can’t eat our friend’s boyfriend.” I say as Venom’s inky black head materializes. “But he hurt her... There markings on her.” “I know, but that’s not our business. Olivia will be here to get her soon.” I say dialing up the pizza place. “Why can’t we keep her here? She does not feel afraid anymore.” “Dude, shhh.” I hiss as the ringing stops. I quickly order four bacon and cheese pizzas and something chocolatey for Venom before hanging up. “When we go back I need you to be quiet okay?” I say. “Fine.”

Lillianna POV When Eddie walks back in I slightly tense when he flops down beside me. “Do you mind if I ask you something?” He says looking at me. I shake my head slowly and he nods. “What made him... do this to you?” He says. I clench my sorely bruised jaw before taking in a deep breathe. “He um.. he was upset because we’ve been together four about three months and I still haven’t slept with him....”I trail off looking down at the ground as blush creeps up across my entire face. “Oh, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked you that.” He says quickly. “No, it’s fine. I um... It’s not a big secret... Olivia likes to call me the Virgin of San Fransico.” I try to chuckle but it won’t come out. I look around the apartment at anywhere but his face. There is a knock on the door and I hope that it's Olivia here early, but when Eddie opens the door I see a pizza delivery boy standing outside the door holding five boxes. "Thanks, keep the change." Eddie says closing the door. He set's the boxes on the counter and notices the face I'm giving him. "I suck at cooking... this is kinda like dinner for the week."He chuckles pulling out plate out of the cabinet. "Come help yourself, Lilly." He says. I walk over to the bar and he sits a plate of pizza in front of me. I sit on a bar stool as he piles four pieces on his plate. "Drink? We have beer, beer.... um.... expired milk... Want some water?" He chuckles out. I smile and nod. "Sounds good." I say gently. I look down at my plate and see he's put four on my plate. I chuckle slightly as he sets a glass of water in front of me. "What?" "I don't think I'll eat four pieces." I say putting three back in the box. "Sorry, didn't wanna skimp you." He says gently. I smile and nod.

I look down at my phone to see that it's way past 10 almost 11:30. "Sorry, Olivia should have been here." I say when Eddie yawns. "Don't worry about it, she's probably still at work." He says. I lean back against the couch. Eddie POV Lillianna has fallen asleep on the couch so I get up and drape a blanket over her after carefully laying her down. "She is small, very small. You are attracted to her." Venom says as I look at her. "Shh. Let her sleep." I say as she turns over to the face the back of the couch. There is a knock on the door making Lillianna's face twist up in fear. "She's afraid." "I can see that." I sigh walking to the door. Olivia is standing outside with a nervous look on her face. "She wants something."Venom says. I open the door and let Olivia in. "She's asleep." I say leading her furthur into the apartment. "What is it Olivia?" I ask crossing my arms. She looks at me guiltily before sighing. "Um... I just got a call from my mom.... Daddy had a heart attack and it's not looking good. I was wondering if you could... If you would let her stay here with you. She can't stay at my place because he knows where I live. He's been blowing up my phone all day. She can't be alone, Eddie I know it's probably a lot to ask but please." She says. I sigh and scratch the back of my head. "Say yes." "Alright fine." I sigh looking over at Lillianna." "I owe you big time." She sighs. I nod my head. "Should we wake her up to tell her?" Olivia says. I shake my head. "Send her a text, she's had a long day." I sigh. "Thank you. Now... I'll pay you back, for whatever, it's been a long time since she had a job, and I don't think that she'll be too keen to get one very soon. She's been through way to much... Last time she left him she was in the hospital for two weeks." Olivia says. "Don't worry about it. He came back right when I came to get her." I say leaning against the bar. "Thank you. But I will pay you back, do you need anything before I go?" "No, don't worry about her she'll be safe." I reassure her. She nods before looking over at Lillianna. "If he finds her this time..." She trails off. "He won't find her, and if he does we will eat him." "Don't worry, she'll be safe. I won't let him find out where she is." "Thank you. I'll try to be back soon, but..." "It's fine go be with your family." I say. She hugs me before walking out of the apartment.
