"Awake" by Metrik and ÆON:MODE!

(forgot i'm crossposting these from my music blog)

well, grafix may not have made it on my list this year, but his mate did!

metrik lit up more at the end of the year, with a trio of singles, two of which were collabs. one of those is our subject, and the first entry into this year's list. metrik said he's trying to integrate more metal elements into his music, and though that doesn't really come through on this one, you can definitely tell he's trying to go in a darker direction. the strumming basslines pair nicely with metrik's awesome vocals and that AMAZING vocal glitch that becomes the centerpiece of the track. another winner for a pairing (metrik + hospital) that seems to create them yearly.
