a part of my saiki k rewrite that I love is that in the serious arc bit aiura sees the future of kusuo right in front of the cat tank about to be blasted to bits and is MORTIFIED. she immediately runs off to try to save him (even though she knows he’s probably going to be fine) - and, on impulse, brings chiyo with her.

chiyo is obviously confused as to why her crush is running off to who-knows-where, but is more terrified of the beams of light that r shooting out of a suspicious white building THAT THEY ARE CURRENTLY APPROACHING

then, upon the door opening, they see TORITSUKA ON THE FUCKING FLOOR WITH NO MOVEMENT. chiyo obviously thinks he’s dead, and understandably freaks out.

kusuke then has to explain to this poor anxious girl that a) toritsuka is not dead. b) he is not a random maniac threatening 2/5 of her (former) crushes and c) that saiki is a psychic.

this does not calm chiyo down.
