very valid question, my friend. dead naming is when you actively call someone who is transitioning by their old name. so, say i am attempting to transition from f to m, and instead of calling me verona, i want you to call me devin or something. but if you keep calling me verona and you know that’s not what i go by anymore, it’s a microaggression against me. it’s a way of invalidating someones identity. i hope that makes sense.
