Headcanon time for DEAN WINCHESTER.

Dean has a lot of trouble sleeping, he's always had. From a very young age, he had to take on the role of Sam's caretaker, since their father spent so much time away. Unsurprisingly, he didn't get a whole lot of sleep when he had to stay up for most of the night to make sure no monsters would harm his little brother. Because of that, he started developing very bad sleeping habits. Such as having a completely messed up sleep schedule: going to bed when the sun was close to rising, waking up like 2-3 hours later because he had to wake Sam up to get ready for school and get ready for school himself-- sleeping during classes and being scolded by teachers.

As he grows up and Sam becomes less dependent on him, he still finds himself going to sleep at odd hours but for different reasons now. He will often stay up until late at night thinking about all the "what ifs", "what could have beens" in his life. Seeing people his age start dating, preparing for college and make all these plans for the future affects him more than he lets on in front of his dad and younger brother... But at night, when the other Winchesters are asleep, those thoughts always come rushing to him, torturing him.

As time goes on and more trauma falls upon him, things in that department just keep getting worse and worse. For example, after returning from hell, not only he has more trouble than usual falling asleep but when he does get pulled into dreamland, he has horrible nightmares-- filled with screams of agony and blood. And once more, he finds himself having the most messed up of sleep schedules.

Sleep is most certainly not a friend of his.

Nico had seen master warriors fight before. On the one hand, Percy had become a formidable fighter in his own right, both with his skill with the sword and his own powers to back him up. On the other hand, Jason had been trained by the Twelfth Legion since he was small to fight with a variety of weapons and eventually lead others into battle. But even with that experience under his belt, Nico had never seen a fighter like this.

Wincing as she tore the monsters to shreds, he pulled himself to his feet and moved closer once it was clear the monster wasn't going to get up again. "Styx," he muttered, trying not to make note of all the pieces of Sphinx everywhere and definitely not appearing too revealed as the monster finally began to dissolve into dust.

Nodding once, he took back his own sword, making sure it was clean before putting it away. "I was thinking the same thing," Nico said. "We've had trouble with monsters dying before, when the Doors of Death were open and Thanatos was captured. I haven't heard about that happening again..." His voice trailed off as he looked back down at the spot where the Sphinx lay. Although maybe there was something going on in Tartarus.
