Luka has incredible control over his cryokinesis, with it he can create, shape, and manipulate ice. As an elemental power, Luka’s cryokinesis has a nigh-limitless number of uses, and is only limited by his imagination and natural magical limits. He’s had the magic since he was born and was trained in utilizing it by his mother. Neither of his parents share the ability with him however, and he doesn’t know where he inherited it from. His father, John Reid, doesn’t possess any elemental powers and Luka doesn’t remember enough about his mother to know if she did. Other than being certain she didn’t posses the same as him.

After Lacina Reid’s death, Luka started having intense nightmares about her burning to death and him being stuck in the flames with her. Due to the nightmares for a while Luka actually lost control over his own magic, struggling to get enough sleep and keep his own emotions stable, he started to freeze anything and everything when he got the slightest bit upset. It took him months to get himself under control, to regain control over his magic.

Despite the control he had now though, Luka still suffers from nightmares that over the years have grown increasingly worse due to the torment he suffers under his father’s control over him. And when he has rather intense nightmares, in his sleep, Luka will accidentally freeze the entire room. Drop the temperature below frozen levels, ice crawling up along the walls, ceiling and floor, snow drifting through the air.

Knowing he does this, Luka doesn’t ever sleep in the same bed as anyone. It takes a while and usually heavy coaxing before he willingly does that.

"Bisexual. If it fucks, I can fuck it." He shrugs. "I don't date." But an idea one would be his bar probably. He's very easily relaxed there, he enjoys being at it. Be it working or just hanging out. Wyatt is more likely to be open and at ease in the bar. Easier to chat up. As long as Luka isn't brought into the conversation. "Are we picking physical or personality traits? Everyone has a shitty fucking personality, but someone who cries a lot is especially annoying. Physically, tall people are rather attracive."

"I don't affiliate myself with any sort of sexual defintion." Eric doesn't mind the gender of the person he finds himself attracted too, it's the heart that usually lures him in. His late wife had been a beautiful person inside. "The easiest answer would be a restaurant, isn't it? That's where people tend to go. I don't--truly enjoy crowds. So smaller places is better." He's been a shut in for a very long time. But no one can date inside the chaos that is his manor. So somewhere outside, quiet, works. "Traits. I do find myself enjoying the company of people who appreciate literature and games like chess."

The Reid Family & Reid Pharmaceuticals.

The Reids are the local Pureblood Vampires, the first and only ones to ever settle in Abarith. Their blood is what turned most of the Vampires currently living in Abarith, as their family line is quite old. Luka himself is around two hundred years old, however his father is several thousand years old and his mother was right up there along with him. Their family, while not having as deep a connection with Abarith's roots as Wyatt's and Amir's, is deeply and well respected by the other Vampires simply because of what they are. Pureblooded. Untainted by human blood and connected to the first Vampire. They are where all of it started.

Luka's Mother, Lacina Reid, was the one who bridged the gap between Abarith and the Vampires. To prove that Vampries aren't just lifeless dead creatures that want to eat and turn anything that looks good that day. She was the oe to create a better place for the Vampires in Abarith. To make them more. They gained respect through her taking care of them, guiding them and nuturing them.

Lacina Reid served on the King's court for over a hundred years. She served the 20th, 21st, and 22nd King of Abarith. Going through several lifetimes of King's in Abarith. She loved being able to help and being able to try and further her family for more than what it was. And she raised her son to try and view the world in a positive light no matter what it threw at him.

Her death at the hands of her own best friends betrayal shook the very foundation of the Vampires. Murdered by the Witches, bound in her own home that was set on fire, Lacina Reid was greatly mourned and lost. It hurt them, their view in the Kingdom, and the growing bond between them and the rest of Abarith, especially the Witches. It also completely broke John Reid.

Ried Pharmaceuticals was found by John Reid while he was still married to Lacina Reid. He had an idea for something that would help the Vampires and keep them from feeding entirely on humans. He struggled with this idea, with stabalizing it and making it make sense. He tried a few different things, sane things, and blood tablets were tenatively born. Though the formula for it wasn't exactly very strong and it kept being not quite enough.

Then Lacina Reid died.

Reid Pharmaceuticals, found by John Reid, kidnaps humans and bleeds them dry to use their blood as the base for the formula in blood tablets. John Reid, who has a supernatural hold over his son uses him to hunt down these humans and kidnap them. He also uses his son as a weapon to slaughter Vampires and other people that get in his way.

The largest part of Abarith's residence are made up of Witches and Vampires, both who live on the West side of Abarith, the Witches district directly below the Vampires. They have an ongoing war, almost like a territory war, that continues due to an incident several years ago.

When the previous King of Abarith was in power, his court was made up of the coven heads, the Patriarchs of the rueling families. This included Pureblood Vampire Lacina Reid, High Witch Evelyn Cross, High Mage Mirette Samaha and Alpha Werewolf Tadashi Kobayashi. All whose children have taken over the current role in modern day.

The 22nd King of Abarith, Hiroki's father Gaito Nakamura, was a man whose only desire was power and bloodshed. He used the soldiers like stepping stones to get what he wanted and had little care for the actual people inside his city. Though he put on the pretenses of a kind and caring man, he simply didn't care who got hurt in his fight for power. Seeing this his own wife Shizuka Nakamura the Queen spoke with Lacina who pulled the other women in the court together and devised a plan, a way to take him down and end his reign of tierney.

Before the plan could come to fruitition, the Cross Family Mansion was broken into in the middle of the night. Slaughtered like animals Wyatt watched through the floorboards of the cellar as his mother begged for her family to be spared and was killed. The mansion painted with blood, the family ripped apart, fang marks in their skin. The Witches were lead to believe their Patriarch had been murdered by Vampires bloodthirsty and on a bindge.

In retaliation to this the Reid Family Manor was burned to the ground with Luka and Lacina inside, Lacina magically bound to prevent her from escaping and saving her own life. Though Luka would give everything to try and save his mother before she was fiercely burned alive in revenge.

Although the truth of what happened is unknown to Luka and Wyatt, Wyatt is very aware that it was not Vampires that murdered his family. This doesn't stop him from holding a grudge again Luka though. Even though Luka is the one who should hold it and doesn't truely anymore. He's grown tired of constantly fighting with Wyatt and he is the only reason that the Vampires have stopped being such a pest to the Witches. Constantly putting them all in their place.

In truth; Mirette had betrayed Shizuka, Evelyn and Lacina. She told Gaito what they were planning to spare her own neck and cement a bigger place for herself in the world. This is the reason she's the only one left alive.

Luka can be cold, distant and closed off to everyone new. He doesn't enjoy meeting new people, especially if they're another Vampire, and struggles with holding casual conversations. Due to being manipulated and controlled by his father, he has a great desire to have personal independence. He doesn't take kindly to other people attempting to control him. This includes Hiroki, even though they're childhood friends.

As someone whose constantly on the move and oversees the other Vampires in Abarith, he tends to rather focus on large, important issues, and delegate the details. He htes change but enjoys adventure, and exploration. Luka is dynamic, visionary and versatile, able to make constructive use of freedom. He hates being restricted by rules and conventions and tends to be pessimistic, intelligent, and tends to have a hard time making friends. He is also restless, tidy, and rebellious, especially against other vampires.

ʜɪꜱᴛᴏʀʏ

Luka was born to the Pureblood Vampires John Reid and Lacina Reid. John was a Pureblood that had been around since the dawn of Abarith’s new age, born under his own father who found himself hunted and staked by the humans who came searching for the supernatural creatures. John was always a rather kind man at first, someone who truly adored his wife and his son Luka. Who held his place in society within Abarith with a grace and elegance, the same one that he instilled upon his son.

Pureblooded Vampires age a lot slower than humans, they spend more of their time younger until a certain point where their bodies stop growing entirely. By his hundredth year on Earth, Luka would appear no more than ten, and at two hundred he looks around twenty and will no longer age.

His mother, Lacina, was the previous head of the Coven in Abarith, serving on the previous King’s Court as keeper of the Vampires. She instilled a desire for love and cooperation within the Vampires and was highly loved. She also was the best friend to the Head Witch, Evelynn Cross. Luka had spent a lot of time with her at the Castle, learning along with Hiroki, Amir and Wyatt how to act like the nobility that the boys were.

Luka never liked rules, or learning what they all had dubbed rather pointless things. But his mother had been teaching for a long time how proper ediate was important for people of their standing, especially Purebloods. So though he never cared much for it he put the same amount of determination and effort into his studies as he did everything else his mother taught him.

After the death of Evelynn Cross the Vampires found themselves the subject of hatred and resentment, being blamed for the woman’s death as the crime scene painted it like a Vampire attack. Tensions before that had been rather high, Abarith becoming tired of the cruel reign of their King. One night the Reid family home found itself set on fire, with both Lacina and Luka inside. Luka, still only a child, had done his best to attempt to save his mother but the woman being the target of the fire was far lost to the hellish blazes. His father, having returned home, saved his son but lost his wife.

John was never the same after that.

Luka spent his remaining years watching his father deteriorate in sanity, create the perfect blood tables ( Reid Pharmaceuticals ) to substitute Vampires thirst but at a price that no one realizes. His father even kidnapped a child, experimented on him, and then turned him to become the perfect sired vampire that would follow his word without hesitation. Luka keeps his mouth shut, keeps his distance from his father and focuses on attempting to keep the Vampires in check and clean up their messes.

Tension between the Witch Coven and the Vampire’s is still high, even after all these years, and the two districts avoid each other like a plague. The Vampire’s can be petty, will start fights, and Luka doesn’t hesitate to put them in their place.

He doesn’t like being Court Head Vampire however.
