hihi! i'm seren and i'm kind of dumb LMAO. i'm rly bad with intros! i've been rping for several years now, starting allll the way back on neopets and i've been in isola since the start of its creation back in 2018??? yeah. ummm my sleep schedule is fucked up and mostly everything is fucked up due too my work schedule so bear with me if i disappear for like a week. i'm a huge final fantasy fan, obv!! i play ffxiv a lot ( i love my catgirl... ) and that game and ffxvi basically changed the chemicals in my brain and now im even more unnormal. aside from that i've got other interests, mostly gaming but i like to write and draw! and sleep... i like making friends so feel free to follow me over at my twitter! it's mostly rts with occasional brainless posting from me but its the best way to get in touch with me!

Hypnum Insomnum Plotting Call! / CAP: 2 (cast-mates exempt!)

||. Byleth will be really busy during Act 1! As a member of the AIPD and the Adventurer's Guild, a lot of her time will be focused on the Aercons of the Arcanus Isle. Providing them with supplies, shelters, investigating infected homes, etc.

Because a lot of her time is spent investigating or nearby the moss, Byleth will inhale a LOT of the hypnum bud pollen. She will have noticeable moss following her around, and latching onto her from her boots up. Many of her nights are already sleepless, but she will have vivid nightmares due to prolonged exposure to the moss.

Byleth's fears will primarily revolve around her feelings about the ashen demon and her past, as well as featuring themes of wanting to belong, and not being able to fit in.

||. I was honestly a little bit surprised by just how many people asked no.6, but then I remembered that Byleth's world view is fairly complex, given how she changes between routes. For context, my particular Byleth is from the blue lions route, specifically the middle of its "war phase". So, I think we'll start there.

For those who don't know, by the time the war breaks out for Byleth, she's lost a lot of the stability she was just beginning to really understand for herself. Friends she'd made in her students scattered, then reconvened, but for them five years had passed, and for her it had been but an instant. The crux of the Blue Lions house, Dimitri, has gone absolutely mad, and by the canon point I've taken Byleth from, he's been mad for about four in-game months straight. This is not counting the time he'd been mad during the five years he had survived on his own.

Needless to say that Byleth and the rest of the blue lions house felt a little downtrodden. Their troops were low on resources and scrambling to put up a defensive front against the Empire, their own morale was wavering due to Dimitri's impulsive actions and insatiable desire for revenge... And for Byleth, that meant everyone was looking to her to make a miracle. Win the war, keep them all alive, and most importantly: break through Dimitri's madness long enough to get their friend back.

This was... in short, an overwhelming time for her. She never really gets time to regain her bearings in that way, save for her former students and Byleth all feeling the same way. There was a solace in that, and more than anything else, Byleth believes in Dimitri. He helped her grow into herself and, in her mind, showed her, and taught her how to feel, to live, and to be something like 'human'.

I think the best song to describe the dour tone but persistent hope in Byleth is the song MAKE ME BELIEVE by The EverLove

||. some exciting news includes: as of may 6th, 12:00pm EST i'll have graduated ! i'll be on a bit of a trip after that, so i won't officially be around until the 11th/12th. that said, i'll queue up some things in the interim and can still be reached in dms.

             event  info.          in  which  byleth  searches  endlessly  for  home .  a  study  in  being  lost  ,  and  wanting  to  be  found  .  the  idea  of  losing  who  you  are  .  the  yearning  of  wanting  somewhere  to  belong  ;  to  find  someone  to  return  to  ,  and  who   would  be  glad  for  it.

           so  what  did  byleth  forget ?

her house leader’s name and face .  she remembers his impact on her , that he’s somewhere in the city , and what makes their relationship Important , but she searches for him as though he’s lost. (and not living actually 5 doors down...)

her conflict with  lady rhea . she only remembers that rhea = archbishop = church of seiros. she remembers that she is fiercely loyal to her and the chuch, and that she is the acting archbishop in rhea’s stead. all memories of their conflict in isola - outside of the emotions that they bring her, are quintessentially skewed. ( so yay for you new guys ! byleth is a stable “human” being for once ! )

her nabatean heritage .   byleth can’t remember that she , sothis , flayn , seteth and lady rhea are nabateans , and therefore dragon people. even still , the feeling of not being human , and not fitting in with humans continues to persist as strongly as ever. she equates this more to “the ashen demon” , though.

various friendships in isola . the details are largely dependent on the individual. sometimes she forgets their faces and names , but not their impact (like dimitri), others will get the same treatment as lady rhea: recalling an objective relationship , but losing the core memories that explain the feelings that go along with it.

           how  can  you  interact  with  byleth ?

byleth , as stated above , is searching for her friends , family , and home ! she’s still going to go about her daily life , but anything event related (unless pre-plotted with those close to her) will find her actively on the search for her allies and loved ones. it will bring her some level of distress to be unable to recall them , or where they are , or how they’re doing. ( and in some cases , why she has such strong feelings for them but can’t understand why. )

Byleth's Activities include:

Yule Log Hunting (She will gladly wield the axe and provide escort for people who don't want to go into the woods by themselves)

Tinker Town (Making ornaments and baking gingerbread for houses would be very interesting to her!)

The Snowberry Harvest (she'd love to help the farmers, and getting her own berries for preserves? Absolute win.)

The Frost Father's Cabin (While she wouldn't necessarily be looking for the Frost Father in specific, she would most likely stumble across the cabin and the Cerdae. She'd also be willing to give out gifts to npcs on his behalf.)

The Starlight Soiree (Byleth would look at the lights, venture into the museum (and be a bit spooked by the tale of the Nokk), and look over the ice skating lake. She doesn't know how to skate, though, and would be too hesitant to try. She might try some spiked eggnog though!)
