Hi, my name is Ashley, I started making components of CATS costumes in 2015 and slowly started adding more to what I offered til in 2020 I was making the full costume. I started with warmers and tails then added yarn wigs in 2017. I painted my first unitard in 2020 and never looked back! I made my first kankekalon wig around that time too. Since that first unitard and kank wig I've done 23 unitards for a production in Canada and 31 wigs in St Paul. I've really learned a lot!

UNIT OVERVIEW

anyways! forgot to post something for day 1 (yesterday) so this log is gonna be a bit longer under the cut

What We've Got

Yesterday (Feb 15) was planning planning planning.

mostly making narrative notes and beginning to make a map like so:

I had also implemented some basic moving code (running side to side and jumping) and a little slime enemy, based on HeartBeast's tutorials to prep for the start of the jam

Then today (Feb 16) was making this open source Zone Loading script work without just using the template project. then I went ahead and made it so that I could have indoor and outdoor zones too

also implementing camera limits so that you don't see outside the current room was a quick thing I learned about

To Do's (in no particular order)

transfer more of the map plan into the actual project

tweak the movement a little bit

start planning more of the actual game mechanics (things like how would upgrades work, movement upgrades, etc.)

brainstorm some enemies

brainstorm some important characters

work on a character idea that I just remembered

also probably set up some version control
