finally got to watch scream 5 since 6 is now up for streaming worst experience of my life.

i didnt even realize that there was a urinetown fandom on here but since there is, let me tell about some of the best aspects of the production of urinetown im in currently

• there’s not a single straight person in the cast and the majority isn’t cis either. like for real it’s a whole fruit basket out here

• bobby is played by a transmasc lesbian (me) and i fully headcanon him as a he/him lesbian at this point. his character has become very dear to me :-)

• hope is like. 6 inches taller than me and i bring out a stage block to stand on for our kiss after follow your heart (yes we kiss despite the fact our theatre company is located in a small conservative town!! it feels revolutionary and i love it)

• cladwell is flamboyant as fuck and wears high heeled green boots that go up to his mid thigh and he’s incredibly cunty with everything he does. he also wears an eyepatch with a bedazzled eye on it

• old man strong is played by an incredibly sassy gay man and we have a theory that him and josephine are lavender married

• there is a LOT of eye imagery in the show because it’s ugc’s symbol. the most noticeable part of the set is this huge eyeball above the amenity that glows. pretty iconic actually

• we have an actual live bunny who makes an appearance in don’t be the bunny. his name is twitch and little sally is his owner irl 🐇

• barrel is played by a trans man (since there are a lot of barrel enjoyers on here i thought id include that tidbit) and he leans in for a kiss after confessing to lockstock 😭 also he’s killed by being suffocated by a toilet plunger which is SO campy and hilarious

• the wig our pennywise wears looks like chappell roan’s hair and that was partially the reasoning behind choosing it

• the guy playing officer lockstock is also the director of the show AND happens to be my brother!

overall i think our production is pretty cool and so queer and i love what we’ve done with it!!!!!

Sera... kinda has two sides and they're so different that it would honestly give me whiplash if I was hanging around her. She can get tunnel vision easily and shes VERY... Determined? Stubborn? Like once she sets her mind to something, she gonna do it and it's her only priority until she completes it. It's like a switch being flipped, when it's off shes her chill self and nothing really bothers her, or more accurately she won't show a ton of emotion. She's very muted and sassy.

And then the switch flips, and it's a whole different person. You've heard of the procrastinator perfectionist, I give you the fervent perfectionist. Whatever has captured her interest had her time, her energy, her money, her resources, her soul, whatever it requires.

It's funny to imagine her going after someone she likes (like really intensely likes) bc I honestly don't know if she'd sit back and give up, be passive and let it develop if it's meant to happen, or pull a John. Like for small crushes she'd prolly flirt or try to get close to see how things go, but I don't think it would flip the switch, yk?

I think she probably sits back and be passive with crushes. Like it seems like it’s been drilled into her that relationships (platonic or romantic) are just distractions so she probably still has to deal with that in her brain.🍿🥤🍭🍬🍫🧋🥨🥬🍦🍧🧊🐇🍩🥖📦🌻

Sera loved them. She knew this and she was sure that they knew this despite her emotional withdrawals. Which is part of the reason she didn’t think anything of their brief text responses. She just assumed that they were busy or didn’t feel like texting. It wasn’t anything to be worried about.

She started to get concerned when she noticed them being touch reserved. Of course, they could just not want touch at the moment but usually they enjoyed at least a little affection. But if something WAS wrong, Sera wanted to catch it before it grew.

“Are you okay?” Sera asks casually, glancing up at them. Her face scrunches in confusion when she sees the annoyance cross their face and they respond with a very curt ‘yeah’. “Did I do something wrong?” Sera prompts again and Y/N shakes their head, still not looking at Sera. Seraphina’s not stupid, she knows she did something wrong, they’re just not going to tell her. Her brain’s searching through every interaction they had in the past few days, which isn’t many. After going through every interaction they had, Sera came up with nothing which confused her for about half a second before she realized she hadn’t spent much time with them in the past 2 weeks. “I’m sorry I haven’t been around much lately.” Sera hums.

“Don’t apologize. It’s just gonna happen again.” Y/N sighs and Sera feels even more guilty.

“I am sorry. I’ll try to spend more time with you.” Sera offers, watching Y/N for their reaction.

“Yeah. It’s fine.” Y/N replies curtly, still obviously upset. Sera decides to drop the conversation for now, not wanting to push them further.

You know that feeling when you finally get a major level up in a game and you are a force of nature? 💪🏻This novel is 434 pages of epic badassery.

I’d heard mixed reviews of this from long-time Jemisin fans but those haters are WRONG. Yes, it’s a huge departure from the style of Broken Earth or Inheritance Trilogy but to me it feels like Jemisin has taken the gloves off and I AM HERE FOR IT

You don’t need to know Lovecraft’s work to enjoy but she’s taken so many of the best elements of the Chthulian mythos and left his notorious racism reeling from the smack down her sassy bunch of characters deliver.

I’m sorry if I’m blabbering, that’s what happens when you look too deep into the Dark Tapestry. 🫣😵‍💫

It definitely had first novel vibes and plenty of world building, but it was pretty seamlessly integrated into the fast-paced narrative.

You will love this if you’re looking for:

As a white woman, I have to say some of the depictions of racism were deeply uncomfortable but I think it’s essential not to let my privilege allow me to avoid this conflict. BIPOC do not get the choice to avoid it. And I can’t learn unless I listen.

So I’m grateful to Jemisin for giving me this window in these experiences.
