     It had been a long day for Fadiyah with delivering letters to other fellow avian-folk. As for the start of the day, it had been more quiet than the past few weeks. Letters began stocking up from other refugee areas being sent to their location. She kept tab on who came and who left, making sure just about everyone received their letters. Since the war had ended, there were so many refugee camps all scattered around the country. Most avian folk were affected by the outcome of the long-lasted war. For Fadiyah, it was heart-breaking to see such things. But, to keep her composure, she had to keep to her work.

     She kept herself posted in front of one small nest, only built to keep one person warm and sheltered from this god-forsaken war. It was home to Misty, one of the more unusual-appearing harpies. Fadiyah herself was not a harpy; she was a ‘Roc’, an avian subspecies that were senders of letters. 

     “Let us see here...” She shuffled through her bag of assorted letters that hung on her shoulder. “...here we are.” Raising one hand, she knocked on the makeshift door to the nest. “For Misty Cross?”

     Within the nest, it rustled and a shorter, gray-feathered Harpy revealed herself from within the nest. Her head popped out curiously, as if she had ears perking up from her name. Based on her appearance, she was in fact unusual-looking. Her hair was of pure white color, no faltering strands of hair that were any different. She had an eyepatch covering her left eye with a large, noticeable scar that could be seen on top and below the eye-patch. Her other eye was Gold, but the sclera within her eye was completely black. 

     “Anythin’ for me, madam?” She perked up.

     Fadiyah sighed, “I have a few letters for you right here from your folks back home. I am quite sure you will be itching to read them, yes? Keep yourself posted for more. They are sure to send some again.”

THE  CLASSIC  ROMANCE  OF  A  GOOD  RAINSTORM

     What a strange idea... she never really tried that. Curious enough, her foot began to tap around a large puddle, afraid of her own wings to get wet, but she knew she had coverings to keep them dry. One hand held her large umbrella close to her to keep her head dry as well, but soon began to pat her foot around the large puddle. A splash came up... and it was refreshing!

     “...oh, how exciting!” She softly squealed, fluffing her own tail feathers underneath her dress. “I never knew how much rain would be so lovely to dance in! Haha!”
