// Sooooo can we appreciate that Brad was trying to protect Tamora in this clip? You can even see him glance back at her at least once. And you even see Tamora reach out for him moments before the Cy-Bug eats him.

WHAT IS YOUR MUSE’S PERSONALITY TYPE ?
Tumblr media
YOU ARE AN ESTJ  ___   THE GUARDIAN  !
You're a natural leader and a quick, logical decision maker. Goals are important in your life, and you take many steps to achieve them. You enjoy interacting with others, mostly through work related activities. Your high energy level means that you are great at getting things done! In love, you tend to bring stability to relationships. You feel comfortable being in charge, and you enjoy being a provider. At work, you take charge. You thrive in structured environments and don't mind enforcing the rules. You would make a great teacher, judge, or police detective. How you see yourself: Realistic, stable, and pragmatic When other people don't get you, they see you as: Rigid, bound to rules, and a bad listener

Calhoun: Respect your elders.
Vanellope: TECHNICALLY I'm older than you.
Calhoun: Like fun you are short stuff. You're like nine.
Vanellope: But I've existed for 15 years. You've only been around for a couple weeks. So yeah actually I am older than you.
Calhoun: ...
Vanellope: RESPECT YOUR ELDERS TAMORA JEAN CALHOUN!

“I can fix it!” “Destroy all Cy-Bugs”
I think the coolest part of the Tamora x Felix dynamic is that one is completely designed to fix anything he touches with his hammer while the other one totes around a huge gun, hell bent on destroying her enemy.
Felix is literally programmed to fix everything.
Tamora is literally programmed to destroy her enemies.
Perhaps that’s why I feel like, at least in my portrayal of Calhoun, she’s had this unfortunate luck of destroying people and not on purpose. She totally and completely believes she is jinxed and that getting close to her is basically the same as signing one’s own death warrant (after all look what happened with Brad, and she almost let Sugar Rush get destroyed).
Felix is a chance for her to break that stigma, that superstition that’s plagued her for years. Sure yes they are different but ultimately they are two different sides of the same coin. The ying and yang in just about every situation.

Can we talk about this scene in the movie for a second? I mean here you have Calhoun and Felix staring down the Cy-bugs. Two avatars literally standing in between the Cy-bugs and Game Central Station and the rest of the video games plugged into the power strip and let’s face it, you know they’d go into the outlet eventually and affect the rest of the arcade too.
They don’t back down. They don’t run off. Tamora is literally down to a knife and Felix has only his hammer.  They’re barely a step above bare knuckling this fight. These Cy-bugs are ready to chomp down on them and then the rest of the game.
Remember Calhoun still has the bomb as far as we know. She put it back where she’d retrieved it from when Ralph took off on her cruiser.
Yes. She put back the devise  - the thing that she was going to use to blow up the exit to keep the other games safe - because Ralph was now in the game again. Ralph, the guy whom she only knew as a nuisance. The guy who likely she really despised in that moment for his carelessness and his disregard to the danger he’d brought with him. Despite all of this she still wasn’t about to leave him to his fate. She was still going to fight for him.
And she didn’t know Vanellope at all until she stood by to protect her on the bridge. To Tamora yes she was an innocent civilian caught up in all of this. What’s more is that she is a child so to me its not at all surprising that she would stand by her until the end.
Tamora looses ammunition in her big as gun as well as her sidearm, leaving her only with a knife and the bomb that she has tucked away. And she pulls out that knife when Vanellope cannot leave her game. She is ready to jump in between the girl and the bugs until Vanellope also dashes away.
Tamora doesn’t know these characters at all. She knows her game is in danger. She knows the arcade is in danger but because there are still two avatars in the game - one who seems to have a plan to rid the game of Cy-Bugs (though Calhoun has no basis to trust him or that he knows what he’s doing). And in order to keep from letting the two of them die, she trusts that Ralph has a solution and that it will work.
There are literally hundreds of Cy-bugs trying to get through that exit. Calhoun doesn’t have much time to make a decision. While Felix might have been optimistic, we know Calhoun isn’t the type. She had to think that she was about to die the same way her fiance did. At least, though, she knew she was going to die protecting people. Maybe she was at peace with that knowledge.
I can’t help but wonder, though, how she felt knowing that Felix was likely going to die as well if he didn’t leave. Did she tell him to run? I have a feeling she told him to leave more than once in order to save himself. Obviously, though, we know Felix is stubborn and would stay by herself until the end.
I dunno. When I was screencapping and really took a moment to look at this the whole scene just really made me think. And gave me all the feels.

Relationship with: Kohut
Be warned I have a lot of feelings on these two so this could either end up long or be posted in multiple parts.
Kohut is Calhoun’s second in command and one of the few that she absolutely trusts with her life. The two are practically inseparable as they’ve always been together. They met in basic and move swiftly up the ranks through the Space Marines program. When Calhoun was able to assemble her team, Kohut was the first one she chose.
They know each other so well she rarely has to even command him any more.  They are perfectly in sync in battle, always knowing where the other is or what they’re about to do. Years on the battlefield helped.
But they aren’t just good soldiers, they are the best of friends. Outside of their roles as soldiers, Calhoun found she could always confide in him and he her. He was always there as her romantic interests danced between partners. He never judged her about them, but was ready to step in when certain relationships took a toxic and dangerous turn. Of course he knows that she could have stood up for herself and made sure she knew that he knew, but stepped in anyway. Because of it, whenever Kohut expressed concern over a partner, he was the only one that could vocalize it to her. And she would take it into consideration.
He was the also the first to notice the developing crush on Dr. Brad Scott and was more than happy to act as the “big brother” figure when they officially started dating. The same happened when she and Felix became a couple.
When Brad was eaten and Calhoun shot him, he was the only one she confided in. He was the only one that knew the entire story. He’d been the one to leap to her defense when the Brad Hybrid had moved to attack her, even though she had the situation under control. He had also been the one to finally pull her away from the scene. Out of all of her men, he’s the only one that’s even seen her break down.
He was there as support for many of her flashbacks, never breathing a word to anyone else about them. For the longest time only he could seem to pull her out of them (until she met Felix and the gang).
And all this is reciprocated. Tamora has no issues with looking out for him, telling him he’s being an idiot or offering support with his own traumas. She isn’t the only one of them that suffers from flashbacks after all.
That doesn’t mean they don’t tease and torment one another. Because if they aren’t hurling insults back and forth, everyone thinks something’s wrong (and they’re probably right). They even occasionally throw punches. Tamora used to love sparring and training with him too, until they both figured out each other’s fighting styles so well they no longer could gain the upper hand.
And whenever someone attempted to put either of them down during their academy days, the other was quick to rush to defend; Kohut with a sharp tongue, Tamora with her fists. It was how they met in fact; one of the other newbies was giving Tamora gruff for being a “small”, blonde bombshell of a girl who would never amount to anything in the Space Marines program. When Tamora lashed out, Kohut wasn’t far behind. Of course Tammy lashed out and told him that she could take care of herself to which he agreed with and that he’d only lashed out because the guy “was annoying as hell”.
Because of their intense friendship, there were plenty of times the duo were mistaken as a couple, or people thought they were likely to become one. That has never really crossed either of their minds however. They’re too good of friends, and their bond is almost familial instead of romantic.
And although there have been plenty of disagreements between the two, sometimes to the point where they’ve gone weeks without speaking, Calhoun and Kohut know that they would always have one another’s backs. And that they could completely and utterly trust each other with anything.
And Tamora would never give that up. Ever.

RELATIONSHIP WITH: Ralph
Though he did manage to earn a bit of Calhoun’s respect after saving Sugar Rush it took Calhoun a bit longer to warm up to Ralph compared to Felix or Vanellope. She still sees him as the big oaf and takes every opportunity she can to mess with him. Granted, now she does it all in jest. But she also isn’t afraid to call him out if need be.
She was actually surprised at just how close she grew to him considering their rough starts. He’s the only one she feels comfortable hauling off and hitting - usually in a more playful manner than their early interactions.
And even though he does tower over her, she is more than able to put him in his place if need be - and she’s more than willing to do so if necessary. His size does little to deter her. In fact she often takes it more as a challenge.
Overall though, his willingness to sacrifice himself for Vanellope, her game, and really for Calhoun and Felix too, earned Ralph a respect Calhoun doesn’t give too often. It was the reason she was thrilled that Felix wanted him to be the Best Man at their wedding. Though she might not show it, he has become one of her best friends and she would die for him.
But hitting him with her helmet never gets old.
