❀*ೃ༄  nothing  about  shionne  is  fantastical  .  not  even  in  her  own  dreams  .  but  that's  not  to  say  that  shionne  didn't  have  dreams  .  hers  simply  took  rather  realistic  forms  :  an  ordinary  day  .  maybe  ,  she  was  simply  tired  of  being  the  extraordinary  .  maybe  she's  just  tired  .

yawn . shionne stretched her arms out and stretched her back like a cat , twisting and yearning for just the right position to soothe her sore back . by and large , it's difficult to pinpoint what was different and want remained the same . . . but she did know --

                     upon  hearing  her  voice  the  esper  stops  his  walk  down  the  hall  and  turns  to  face  the  girl.  he  keeps  on  his  polite  smile,  completely  unchanged  from  his  usual  demeanor  as  she  speaks.

                     perhaps  there  might  be  some  small  changes  in  the  other’s  behavior.  there  have  been  a  few  minor  ripple  effects  that  kyon’s  change  of  alliance  has  caused,  but  nothing  that  itsuki  would  deem  as  concerning  for  the  time  being.  he  is  sure  the  other  brigade  members  might  be  nervous  about  what  this  means  for  them  and  their  missions  here,  but  he  can’t  find  a  reason  for  them  to  be  suspicious  of  the  events.

                     is  it  really  so  hard  to  believe  kyon  might’ve  made  his  decision  on  who  to  side  with  naturally?  and  was  it  so  outlandish  to  consider  that  kyon  would  side  with  him  and  the  agency  over  the  other  two?  koizumi  didn’t  think  so.

                     ‶  acting  weird?  ″  itsuki  asks  as  if  he  has  no  clue  what  haruhi  is  referring  to,  but  with  a  tone  that  feigns  a  very  subtle  concern.  ‶  i  can’t  say  that  i’ve  noticed  anything  out  of  the  ordinary.  can  i  ask  what  makes  you  think  something  might  be  wrong?  ″  could  it  be  that  at  a  subconscious  level  she  might  be  aware  of  what  was  going  on...  it  wouldn’t  surprise  him  for  her  to  be  able  to  pick  up  on  the  subtle  changes  and  alterations  to  this  world.  but  at  the  end  of  the  day,  there  was  nothing  she  could  consciously  do  about  that.  and  things  weren’t  extreme  enough  for  her  to  lash  out  subconsciously.

                     at  least  he  hopes  not.  he  might  need  to  keep  an  eye  out.  just  in  case.

A day she had hoped to be forgotten , clearly hadn’t been the case as she slowly turned in her chair , temporarily neglecting her novel to stare at what disaster Enid was preparing to unleash before her.

❝ I thought I told you I didn’t want anyth-. ❞ Words cut short as dark eyes stared at the beautifully intricate design of the fountain pen , carved of bone that she no doubt believed to be actual human remains. It was evident that Enid had taken time and care into the gift Wednesday truly didn’t deserve. The snood from last year tucked away in her chest , yet to be used but worn from the events that transpired.

@smijon​  has  become  a  pawn  in  itsuki’s  game.

                     if  koizumi  were  to  identify  what  he  was  feeling  in  this  moment...  it  would  be  nervous.  that  it  might  not  have  worked.  that  it  might  backfire.  that  kyon  might  see  through  it.  that  he  might  not  get  away  with  this.

                     he  does  well  to  keep  his  pokerface,  gingerly  bringing  his  café  au  lait  up  to  his  lips  as  he  takes  a  nice,  long  sip  to  ease  his  nerves.  the  two  were  sat  in  a  restaurant-  one  of  the  many  small  ones  the  brigade  frequented.  though  it  would  appear  to  any  on-lookers  that  the  place  wasn’t  very  busy  today.  after  all,  there  were  only  two  patrons.  and  they  were  both  at  this  table.

                     in  reality,  the  agency  had  ensured  the  place  would  be  empty  for  the  two  of  them.  itsuki  had  invited  his  fellow  brigade  member  out  to  lunch  to  discuss  some  important  matters-  luckily  kyon  was  used  to  him  being  vague.  if  that  weren’t  the  case,  this  invitation  would’ve  come  off  as  extremely  suspicious,  he’s  sure. 

                     the  two  had  sat  down,  ordered,  and  began  talking  when  his  new  allies  with  the  data  overmind  made  their  entrance.  approaching  the  table  and  doing  what  he  had  requested  of  them.  it  went  by  awfully  quick,  to  his  own  surprise.  he  almost  wanted  to  ask  if  they  had  actually  done  anything,  but  he  knew  not  to  underestimate  just  how  quickly  those  TFEIs  could  work  their  “magic.”

                     they  had  promptly  exited  once  their  work  was  done,  as  itsuki  requested  to  interact  with  kyon  in  private  once  he  started  to  process  his  surroundings  again.  he  needed  to  make  sure  this  worked  how  he  wanted  it  to...  and  he  would  like  as  little  outside  interference  as  possible  during  his  little  check-in.

                     there  is  a...  guilt.  a  natural  feeling  that  tugs  at  the  back  of  his  consciousness.  kyon  is  someone  he  considers  a  friend  after  all.  but  if  itsuki  were  to  describe  the  circumstances  he  would  say  they  were  unfortunate,  but  necessary.  this  was  relating  to  the  very  fate  of  the  world,  after  all.  everyone  in  the  agency  understood.

                     ‶  are  you  feeling  alright,  kyon?  ″  are  the  words  he  decides  on,  carefully  examining  the  other’s  expression  with  a  soft  smile  on  his  face.  one  he  hopes  reads  as  trustworthy.  ‶  you  seem  a  little  out  of  it.  this  is  rather  important,  so  i  do  hope  that  you’re  paying  attention.  ″
