Meet Connor Evans, from the outside he looks like go with the flow kind of guy that couldn't have a care in the world, but on the inside he is anything but that. Connor is riddled with depression due to both his parents taking their lives when he was only five. The small boy was mute for quite some time, only really opening back up to people once getting to high school, never really letting his real self being seen, but putting forth this fuckboy persona to try not to get hurt again. Now that he's matured a little bit, he's more open to making friends, but does still tend to hold others at arms length as he gets to know them.

The way Heartstopper is making a HUGE difference between us •alreadyadults• on our twenties-thirties is BLOWING my mind, like how a 16 yo character can make me feel more appreciated and heard and seen about my own sexuality than anything else I’ve seen in 26 years? I mean, bisexual visibility wasn’t even a thing for me until now that Kit Connor exists in the HEARTSTOPPER show and books. Thank you thank you thank you Alice Oseman for bringing such an inspiring queer story that makes us feel warm and happy.

Ref Sheets 2/?: Crossfire Edition!

Crossfire is about a young man named Jake, who recently got amnesia and is trying to regain his memories. In reality, he's actually an Angel that got cast out of Heaven and put into a Human body as a form of "time out", which is also technically part of a bet some other Angels have going on. Tldr this is the angel/demon story lol.

I wasn't able to draw a lot more characters this time, mainly because they come in later in the story and tbh I'm not 100% sure on their roles n shit yet. Except for Daniel, he appears early on and SHOULD be here but. alas.

🥀 How would your OC decorate a notebook or journal? What kind of things are written in there? Could you give an example of a nice entry?

Well, I'm canonizing his Deku notebooks, which are just a collection of notebooks categorizing all the villains and henchies he knows about and their powers and mods, filled with scratchy handwriting and doodles. It fits his, "I'm somehow streetwise but a huge nerd" vibes. I think he gets like... one anime sticker from sticker machines you see at grocery stores and sticks it on the cover and is internal like "heh, yissss" when he sees it and gets his singular molecule of dopamine for the day.

🍂 Does your OC enjoy hugs? What do they do as a show of affection for: their friends, their family, their significant other(s) or for strangers? Over all what are they like with recieving affection from others?

He does not enjoy hugs in because he sees them as a performance that put him on the spot. If he turns down a hug it's going to be awkward, also where does he put his hands now, and his face is way too close to someone else's and how long is he supposed to do this anyway? He doesn't mind other forms of physical affection as long as he knows they are coming on some level (ok with being shoulder bumped, leaned on, arm hooked, hand held etc.). He likes cuddling because it can be as little or as much physical contact as he feels like and it's easier to disentangle himself if he decides he wants or needs to.

💫What is your favourite fact about this character and why?

His first name is just a really common Guy Name and even though he was jokingly named after RK800, the name Conchobhar means "lover of wolves" or "master of hounds" which is fitting given the context of Sidestep as a canonical dog-lover.

Major announcement for 'Heartstopper' season three

Netflix has revealed the release window for beloved queer series Heartstopper. 

Season threee wrapped production in December, and now the streamer has announced the new series will premiere in October.

On X, Netflix shared a synopsis of the upcoming season: “This season, Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie.

“As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realize that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges.

“As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.”

In addition, the streamer shared a behind-the-scenes video of Kit Connor (Nick) and Joe Locke (Charlie).

Nick and Charlie have… It’s started to get a bit more steamy,” Connor teases.

“We’re about to rehearse, but I’ll tell you what, we are about to have a great time.”

“The tension is high. It’s like sexual tension, love, we’re all there.”

Alice Oseman talks ‘Heartstopper’ season three 

Speaking to Netflix Tudum, creator Alice Oseman said that season three will be “more mature” than the previous two seasons.

“Season two ended with Nick beginning to understand the extent of Charlie’s mental health issues, and it’s this that will drive the story through season three,” Oseman said.

“While Heartstopper will always celebrate the joyful and point towards hope, I’m really excited that we are allowing the tone of the show to mature alongside our beloved characters growing up.

“Mental health, sex, university ambitions, and more: Nick, Charlie, and the Heartstopper teens are getting older, learning more about themselves and each other, and experiencing new desires, new fears, and new joys as they approach adulthood.”

This week, Oseman also confirmed that she was working on the sixth and final graphic novel in the Heartstopper series, which the hit show is based on.

Connor was at a loss of what to do today. He didn't have to work and school wasn't in session. The raven had found himself in the park, a book in his hand as he walked through the park by his apartment. He was trying so hard to be one of those people that bird watched, or even people watched, but he was so bored not even ten minutes into it. He simply decided to find a bench near the fountain in the middle of the park, not too close that it was too loud, and bury his face in his book until there was a reason not to.

He was nearly at the end, not wanting to even consider checking his phone to figure out how long he'd been here. It couldn't have actually been that long, knowing how fast of a reader he was. The raven was used to having some form of direction, something going on in his day that he could at least work his schedule around. He knew had he just stayed home today, he would have ended up depressed and not have gotten out of bed, and he wasn't really to put himself in a slump like that.

He looked up at Keith's voice, knowing that it was familiar, but not being able to put a face to the name until the locked eyes. He gave the redhead a smile, scooting over for him to take a set next to him if he so chose to. ❝ I don't mind at all.❞ Connor stated, folding over the corner of the page he was on and closing the book in his hands to give Keith his full attention, ❝ How have you been lately? It's been awhile.❞

Every time Connor closed his eyes he was brought back to the day his life changed forever. Kitchen stained with bright red, fresh blood as he desperately tried to wake his parents with no avail. They were gone long before Connor had even walked back into the house, and he would always blame himself for not being home to stop them. At the ripe age of five, his childhood had been ripped from beneath him, along with both of his loving parents. He still wracked his brain daily, trying to figure out just why they had done it.

The raven hadn't slept in days, thoughts rushing through his head. This time of year was always the worse with the holidays coming up, not that there was really an easy time of year. Every once in a while things got really bad like this and he started to spiral, but it wasn't like he slept much in general. Honestly, how could he? He usually buried himself in whatever he could find to distract himself either until morning came or he passed out without realizing it.

He startled himself waking up that morning, actually laying in bed. Surprise was found behind blue eyes as he tried to remember the horrid dream from last night, but came up empty. Had he not had a nightmare? Finally, he looked up into the eyes of Marcel, replaying their conversation from the night before. He'd stayed. The raven looked at him curiously, a thoughtful expression on his face as he considered what to say. It hit him that Marcel must not have slept, sitting in the uncomfortable chair propped next to his bed.

❝ I hope you know you could have at least laid down,❞ Connor cracked off a small smirk, before a more serious expression crossed his face. ❝ But seriously, thank you for staying. It means a lot that you're willing to go to such lengths for me. I'd love a chance to repay the favor someday.❞

There was no way that Connor was going anywhere after Briar opened up to him. He could tell that something had been bothering her the last few days, that she seemed almost more tired than usual, but he also didn't want to overwhelm her with questions. He tried to help her with things around the apartment to show that he cared, wondering if he was actually being helpful or if he was just starting to annoy her or not.

At dinner last evening, she finally broke and told him what was troubling her. The reason she looked like she was getting less sleep and seemed off was because she was having nightmares. Connor instantly could relate, feeling a need to protect her from her own mind. When she asked him to stay with her overnight, there was no way he could say no. He was going to do everything he could to be there for her, just has he knew she'd do for him if the situation was reversed and he was going through a rough patch with his own nightmares.

The raven set up a chair next to her bed, not wanting to be overwhelming or assume that she'd want him to sleep in her bed. He'd brought a book with him and made sure his phone was charged so that he wouldn't have to get up in the night. He didn't want her to think he'd left if she woke up and he wasn't there and didn't want her to wake up to him moving around if he did have to grab something. Connor planted himself right next to her with his book open so that she could fall asleep without his eyes on her. He, however, did reach out to hold her hand while she slept.

Connor looked up at her voice as she woke up the next morning, a sheepish smile playing on his face as he folded the corner of the page he was on; the book nearly finished at this point, and set it down on the floor by his feet. She hasn't rustled much in her sleep, and he hoped that meant that she'd actually been able to wake up refreshed and ready for the day. ❝ Of course I stayed, I'm a man that keeps well on my word. How did you sleep? ❞

❝ I... I need to take it back. ❞ Reanne's words were oddly shaky. She could not meet Connor in the eyes. It was her fault for speaking whatever she felt whenever she wanted, so she would get it if he never wanted to talk to her again after this. Her small body trembled from a combination of feelings—dread, guilt (why did it all feel like a precursor to yet another episode of gorging at the nearest diner?), ❝ I can't do this. I can't... I can't date you or anyone. I just can't. ❞ Pausing to try and settle her nerves, Reanne lowered her chin in shame, ❝ I'm sorry. I really shouldn't have said anything in the first place. ❞

Connor's heart sank when he first heard her words. She didn't have to clarify what she was talking about, he knew. The raven knew her better than he would like to admit. He'd fallen for the unattainable girl knowing that she was out of reach. He should have kept his guard up from the start, but there was just something about Reanne that made his walls come crashing down. He took a second to ground himself, listening as she stumbled over her own words. He'd like to tell her she didn't have to explain herself, but he knew that wouldn't help the way she was feeling.

He looked down at her, not surprised when the other wouldn't meet his eyes. He couldn't help but notice her shake, surprise lacing his features as he tried to stop himself from reaching out to her, knowing pulling her close wouldn't help the situation. Connor couldn't bring himself to let her stand on her own though, he needed her to know that no matter what she was to be supported, it didn't matter if they were together or not. They were friends regardless, he wasn't going to let her go through how she was feeling alone.

He reached out, pulling her into his chest and wrapping his arms around her. He expected her to react and pull back, but he wouldn't take offense if she did. He wanted her to do what was best for her, he just didn't know another way in the moment to show her that she could still lean on him regardless of where they stood.
