trying to get smart out of how tr.imax va.sh aged & I think it was something along these lines :

0-1 year old / 0-12 ( physically. one month equal one year ) 1-6 / 12-16 ( physically )

6-80 / 17~ years old. Suddenly his aging slowed down

80-90 / 17-27 happened after losing his arm and was a normal aging rate

90 - 150 / 27 …kind of where he is stuck now. though he starts to look just tired which ages him a little

i think it's so cute when va.sh gets confident about his looks ! when he feels comfy about what he wears. he has quite the eccentric style which I adore but he can also go for such nice casual wear,,, I like to think his love for fashion came from helping people - because that's probably how a lot of things start for va.sh. he met someone who was upset about their looks & va.sh just ended up reading so much about fashion, color theory etc to help them find just the right fit & then he ended up experimenting with his own style as well. he has colorful fits like his coat which reminds him of re.m, or his more casual eriks outfits but I can also see him really enjoy loose shirts & long skirts... probably runs around barefoot or still with his boots.

do not reblog . alright finally ready to talk about this hc regarding my va.sh . I headcanon my own va.sh to be jewish . I personally hc my own re.m ( over on my multi ) to be jewish too, however she made the very conscious choice to not influence the twins in this regard. however va.sh did see her practice some traditions & became curious, plus she made sure to introduce the boys to several cultures & believes . for verses where i interact with re.m's and/or knives I will simply go with va.sh first proper relationship, miriam, introducing him to her community. va.sh found comfort in the text mentioning up to 8 genders, but he also found comfort in the acceptance that he struggles with faith. if asked he cannot answer if he really does believe in a God, he certainly does not believe in the church all loving God. not after what he had witnessed or learned about humanity. to quarrel with God and to struggle with knowing if he exist is a big part about judaism, at least in my community. I personally find it very telling that in the version of Tr.igun i have read, Va.sh does not cuss much, no "fcking hell" no "God dammit" - the one time he does invoke God's name is when wo.lfwood passes away & he begs for it to not be so. I think he simply finds comfort in being allowed to question, to be angry, to bargain. perhaps he carries a little star of david pendant in his bag somewhere, one either gifted to him by miriam or by re.m, depending on verse. also tbh I know the manga in itself has a lot of religious symbolism, especially christian ones but I kind of see the twins as an allegory for pharaoh & moses. & both can fulfill both roles. from the desert wandering to both wishing for some form of freedom / release of suffering for what they see as their group of people, to seeing the other brother's heart "hardening" it kind of just fits for me.

i probably should say this at least once but lil critter va.sh is not canon - he's meant as a lil thing on this blog but isn't something plume can actually do. not BIG creature va.sh? that one is canon. I mean we see him transform in vol. 5 but i go as far as to say he becomes even bigger ( longer?? he takes on more of a plant shape ) his 215cm ( 7feet ) probably become a 240cm (7'9) or something. the feathers only add to it so he appears even larger...

& further prosthetic care headcanons !

I already wrote a headcanon about how va.sh sometimes struggles with taking care of his residual limb because taking off his prosthetic comes with risk ( while he is ambidextrous his movement is still more limited when his arm is off ) & he does not feel comfortable being that vulnerable around strangers . so sometimes the skin & flesh may hurt quite a bit from needing fresh air & other care practices he neglects sometimes. I also talked about how he can do some maintenance on the prosthetic itself, sitting on a table & tinkering away, cleaning it up etc. but I never talked much about the connection / docking part - that one is even harder to take care of, but va.sh can. he has to sit in front of a mirror, preferably a concave mirror to see better & he needs a lot of light to see properly but it does mean that unless something goes really wrong with his prosthetic ( mostly when it gets damaged in fights ) va.sh can do most touch ups himself. kinda plays into my hc that he's quite handy & good with repairing stuff & also enjoys it. something, something "just cause I can't drive angelina doesn't mean I can't fix her up"

random headcanon : you guys know those super complicated rubiks cubes that are just. ridiculously hard, are like 13x13 layers, or a sudoku puzzle & people need like who knows how long to solve? ...give va.sh about an hour with them. i like to hc rem kinda tested the twins with games like that so va.sh just developed a knack for it. he also just looks cute solving them bcs he looks so serious.

thinking about va,sh & lina. lina gently taking his hand & dragging him along into town, coaxing him out of his shell & making him smile again & care. just - dad va.sh things. but also thinking about how he does not go back to her & her grandma, probably in an attempt to keep her safe. I need to write a hc these days about the 2 years he spent with them & how much they mean to him because they are his family but also the tragedy of him not being able to return...

talking to kelpy & before that to steel about how va.sh might genuinely laugh for once if someone asked if his brother used to be a crybaby ( probs smth a person can only know if they saw va.sh memories ) but just... for one moment he just laughs, with a big of a shit eating grin because he gets a chance to lovingly shittalk his brother & go "yeah. he was such a big crybaby - cried during movies all the time & he was so easily scared, I pranked him a lot just to get a reaction" .... & then he looks sad bcs that brother is gone. va.sh did his best to pick up knives personality from when he was a kid, implement it in his own by being more goofy & open to interact with humans. but it's a trauma response & he knows he will never go back to those happier days & it hurts so much.

hc that va.sh doesn't care much for gender ! he has a bit of a lean towards masc & neutral gender expression . for example, I personally hc that va.sh getting top surgery was partly bcs soso many scars on his body are from traumatic events & he wanted one that actually came from a place of self-love & bodily autonomy ! ...but also because literally one chest of his had to be removed after a particularly nasty wound ( hence why he has that metal grid over his chest ) . he got annoyed by how clothes would fit him, otherwise i don't think he would have actually gotten surgery. being able however to mirror one scar that was one of the most painful & near-death experiences for him with one of his own choice, reclaiming his body does fit va.sh & is just a big part of who he is.

va.sh going as himself during halloween is such a cute idea bcs it is the one time he can freely say his name & people won't react in a panic. but i am also thinking about times va.sh did get caught & brought to a sheriff & what not & people looked at him & just "...that...lanky guy? no sorry. that's not va.sh the stam.pede... just a good impostor." "I heard the real guy got a way prettier face"

meanwhile this poor guy just sits there like "...not sure how i feel about that but as long as I shut up I have a chance of getting out of here"
