❥ Has someone ever ruined an FC or character for you?

Not a super dramatic “ruined” like “I’ll never interact with a muse that has that fc again”, but I do have one that comes to mind that triggers...I could you could call it Pavlovian annoyance? The mun tended to spout negativity a lot of the “I feel like everyone here hates me and no one wants to interact with me” type which is a valid feeling because emotions aren’t always rational! But when a post of that nature was being made every few days it started bringing my mood down too.

Anyways, yeah, they were ship obsessed to the point where they’d only get interested in writing with you if they thought they were, not ‘could’ but ‘would’ getting a romantic ship out of it, only interacted with muses they could get a ship from, and their muse’s personality and the way they wrote them just kind of personally grated against me. Especially in some, to me, semi-reductive ways they approached and talked about their muse’s interest in sex.

That fc isn’t super used though and other than that, any others that could reach Pavlov’s Annoyance aren’t that popular either, so I guess I’m lucky.

☀ What's your rp pet peeve?

Man let me tell you. What’s really been a thorn in my side these past couple of years? People who follow/follow back but then simply refuse to write with you. Like you respond to an open starter and the thread quickly gets dropped. You like starter or plotting or inbox calls and they quietly get deleted?! You send in asks and nothing? And all the while it isn’t as if they’re gone or not in the mood to write, their activity is fine it’s just that they’re writing with the 3-5 mutuals that are their favorites, and who they generally have romantic ships with.

Hell, I was getting ignored like that once over the period of a month or so, so I went to their IMs to see, like, what was up? They assured me that they totally did want to write with me, so as I was trying to plot with them they.....then simply stopped responding. Same deal as before, still active, still writing, just weeks of no word from them.

Anyways, I’m totally fine if people find a tightknit group of mutuals they get very passionate about writing with to where the responses come faster and easier for them, I’ve got that myself so I get it. I just wish that if those are the only people they’re interested in writing with that they would at least acknowledge that to themselves before following other people they won’t ever give the time of day. I’d much rather someone realize maybe our styles or muses or their energy don’t mesh well and then softblock me instead of me putting in the time to craft a really good ask, plot, or starter that I think could lead to a great dynamic just for it to go unacknowledged completely.
