I really like this new song from 南西肯恩 Neci Ken =D

The arrangement is powerful -- at first I thought maybe they had brought in someone like 林易祺 LNiCH (fr. Vast & Hazy) to beef up their sound, but nope. The credits do have some familiar names:

This is pretty cool, I think Lynn from 孔雀眼 JADE EYES wrote a new song inspired by 蕭亞軒 Elva Hsiao - 愛的主打歌 Theme Song Of Love?  

I’m not really sure what’s going on -- It’s a remix but with different lyrics, new music and Lynn did everything except the engineering of the mix. 蕭亞軒 is tagged at YT, but otherwise, that seems to be the only connection. If you know more than me, please let me know!  XD

New MV from 眠腦 Sleeping Brain    This is the 2nd excellent song we’ve posted recently, and I’m really psyched to hear more from them!

I suggest checking out the full credits at YT, but let’s at least mention producer/co-arranger 韓立康 HLK (guitarist Likang Han from 椰子!! Coconuts & Waa Wei and Lovely Baby).  顏靜萱 Ka Ka Yen (fr. Vast & Hazy) was vocal producer/co-chorus arranger.

New single from 倒車入庫 Reversing into Garage   =D

里鳳 Li-Fong Mayaw aka ‘Lyvon’-voc, Layne Cheng 鄭愷 aka 鄭力愷-gtr, Sadog Sato 陳融 aka ‘Rong’-gtr (SADOG), 廖育槿 Liao,Yu-Jin aka ‘Nikolai’-bass.  

Miao 喵 aka 陳銘修 Ming-Hsiu Chen (fr. BB彈 / B.B. Bomb) is credited as the drummer on this song - the band don’t list an official drummer.  張璿 Syuan Chang (ex-KurumiQ) was playing with them for some time (2018), but I don’t see her in any photos from 2019. (and her fb is closed or changed)

Some notable things in the credits: 

奧利佛 Oliver Ching (from 飢餓藝術家 The Hunger Artist and founder of Black Market Music Production 黑市音樂) is listed as Producer.  

顧孟堯 Raven Gu (from 眠腦 Sleeping Brain) is listed as Assistant Producer and Recording Engineer. Raven’s band is also on Black Market Music, as is Reversing into Garage.  

The Instruments were recorded at 玉成戲院錄音室 YuChen Cinema Studio, but Andy Baker doesn’t seem to be involved; that’s the first time I’ve noticed any recording from StudioYuChen without Andy being credited.  That’s not unusual – busy studios get work from many clients who have their own production team.  =)

First up is a clip from Deca joins  (formerly 灰矮星 Gray dwarf star, formerly FUBAR).  The audio ends abruptly but the visual continues, and there’s a message on the screen, but certainly not in any language I can read.  Any helpers out there?

promo & release news!

霧虹 Fogbow album and tour about to happen. Lots of details at fb, and you can hear 3 new songs at their StreetVoice. Listening to 播放 atm, they sound GREAT!  Song written by guitarist 有點燃 Fish Chang, and vocals by new singer 秋口 Choco (秋口 勒!)  =D

Vast & Hazy rehearse a full band for 黑市音樂 Black Market Music Production showcases 2017 Feb. 10th at Legacy & Feb. 11th at Hidden Agenda in HK; February 26th in Guangzhou with 椰子!! Coconuts; and the last show of their tour at Legacy on March 10th.   Take a look at the Black Market links to see all the other bands it’s an excellent lineup!   =D

Remember the other day when I told you about Elephant Gym 大象體操 planning to cover a Cheer Chen ‘country’ song?  You can watch a partial rehearsal clip at Kaiting 張凱婷’s fb.  The Mercury 水星酒館 in Kaohsiung tomorrow night (Sat.)

Pilots In The Sky And On The Sea 旅人 posted a very brief clip with the message: “今天我們也跟著大家開工了，新年快樂.” (Today, we have also started work, and happy new year.)  Go check it out, I really want them to feel encouraged!  And then go to either iNDIEVOX or Bandcamp and listen to their epic 2014 ep. So much beauty for a measly $3 bucks!  =D

P!SCO season 7 launch show is at Legacy on March 4th, and as usual for their big events, they have bus/tix/merch packages available for P!SCOers. And regular tix on sale at iNDIEVOX.

Shortwave have a new song to hear at iNDIEVOX, and they’ll be at The Wall on the 15th with 阿克曼樂團 Arkmenband.  

吳蓓雅 PiA posted more shows for February.  She has 2 shows in Tokyo tomorrow, the evening show is sold out, but tix still available for the afternoon gig.
