the third instalment of my musical translation series — a classic work of russian literature, transposed to the stage. adapted from fyodor dostoyevsky's novel of the same name, this musical delves into the conflicting ideologies of four brothers in the wake of their father's death. what lies between action and intention, faith and reason, blood and bonds?

synopsis: based on the novel by fyodor dostoyevsky, this is a tale of patricide intertwined with philosophical pondering. when the karamazov patriarch is murdered, suspicion brews amidst his four sons – the ex-soldier dmitri, the intellectual ivan, the devout alyosha, and the neglected smerdyakov. while the eldest son dmitri is apprehended as the prime suspect, the shared history between his half-brothers ivan and alyosha draws them closer, even as ivan's atheistic arguments antagonise alyosha's beliefs. as for the illegitimate smerdyakov, his inferior status belies his shrewd mind – and his scheming spurs the brothers to confront truths they'd turned a blind eye to all this while. where exactly does evil begin? what is faith founded upon? and how thick does blood truly run?

끝나기 전까진 그래도 트위터 병행했는데 이제 슬슬...진짜 줄이면 되겠다 싶네...회전극이 당장은 없기 때문에...아 물론 연극 보고 있긴 하지만...본진극 만큼은 아니라...ㅎ ㅏ ....텀블러에 장르친구 만들고 싶다...하지만 그렇게 트위터에 만들었다가 재앙을 맛봣��니까(본계 트친들은 ㄱㅊ지만 문제의 0705로 서먹해짐,,,내잘못이아닌데이게무슨일임?...글고 공계는 자꾸 쌈나서 힘들어갖고 터뜨렸지...) 걍...여긴 안식처 느낌으로 굴러가야지...ㅠㅠ 역시 삶이라는건 혼자 살아가는 것이다...

대신 절대로 연뮤 이야기만 하는 것으로....너무 편해지면 못 쓴다...뭐든 적당한 거리감이 중요하며 나의 감정은 나의 감정, 타인의 감정은 타인의 감정이고 선을 유지하는게 좋음...사담은 블로그에만 해도 충분타

예쁜 동생 덕분에 연극 보고옴 ㅋ 알고보니 3년전에 한번 봤던 극이었음 뭐 근데 그때도 상당히 좋게 봤었어서 또 보게된것에 긍정적

3년전이면 사실 아주 오래전은 아님에도 그래 앞자리가 바뀌었다고 다시볼때의 느낌은 또 새로웠다 예전에 봤을땐 아 내옆에있는 가족들한테 평소에 잘해야겠구나 정도였다면(당시 같이 봤던 언니는 연극끝나고 집에가는길에 어머니께 전화를 드렸었던 ㅋㅋ), 이번에 다시보니 좀더 나의 이야기 우리의 이야기같다라는 생각이 좀더 와닿았던ㅋ 처음엔 소중했던, 익숙해지면서 당연해진, 영원할수 없기에 끝이 가까워 질때쯤 생기는 미안함과 덤덤하려 노력하는 이별의 준비까지 다시봐도 따듯하면서도 조금은 씁슬했던 우리의 이야기 극의 시간 전개가 현재에서 과거로 가다보니 더 이전의 기억들이 빛나보였달까

친구가 보여주는거다보니 캐스트 정보없이 갔었는데 세상에 ㅋㅋ 예전에 볼때 나오셨던 조준배우님 또 당첨 ㅋㅋㅋ 여배우는 세상에... 예원님이 왜 여기서나옴 ㅋㅋㅋ 운좋게 아이돌을 봤네 ㅋㅋ

#조준배우님 연기야 이전에도 그렇고 이번에도 그렇고 워낙 잘하셔서 ㅋㅋ 재밋고 편안하고 좋았고 아니.... 예전에 연극 볼땐 몰랏는데 이후에 #슬기로운감빵생활 보는데 조준 배우님 나오셔서 ㅇ0ㅇ 이랬던 기억이 ㅋㅋ 연극 보는데 문득 갑자기 또 생각나서 혼자 웃었던 ㅋ

#예원배우님 ㅋㅋ 아이돌이미지가 아직은 강하다보니 처음엔 오?? 했던 ㅋ 이전에 봤던 극이다보니 아무래도 전에봤던 배우님과 비교가 될수밖에없는데 굳이 비교를 하지않는다면 나쁘지 않았음 목소리 톤도 편하고 전체적으로 귀여웠음 긴장하셔서인지 대사를 중간중간 좀 절긴했는데 거슬릴 정도는 아님 근데 나는 비교대상이 있다보니 비교가 어쩔수없이 되다보니 비교하면 아쉬운점이 없다면 거짓말이지만... 그래도 뭐 크게 불편하거나 하진않았고 크게 엄청 비교될정도도 아니고 나름 연습하고 노력했구나 싶었달까 멀지않은 때에 아이돌 예원 보단 좀더 배우 예원이 될수있기를 ㅎ

쨌던 8월은 코로나도있고해서 한달쉬고 9월에 다시 한다던데 #가족들과 보러가는것도 #추천

마이클리&라민 카림루 콘서트 마지막 공연

어제보다 좋은 자리 앉았더니 음향도 좋고 다 잘보여서 너무 좋았다 어제두 좋은 자리 였으면 더 좋았을걸 하고 생각하니 쪼끔 슬펐지만ㅜ

라민은 어제보다 더 편해지고 더 잘했다 노래를 가지고 논다고!! 틸아이 히얼유싱 엉엉ㅜ비엔나에서 러브네버다이즈를 독일어로 보고 대강 막장 스토리구나 짐작하면서 땀 삐질 하고 있었을 때에도 틸아이에서는 감동하지 않을수 없었는데 라민의!!! 라이브를!!! 듣다니 내가!!!😭😭😭

그리고 설탕인형처럼 가녀린 미모를 뽐내는 우리 마욤 오늘도 그 작은 몸으로 엄청 에너지를 뿜뿜뿜

퀸노래 할때 세상 신나보인다ㅋㅋㅋ응 마욤 하고 싶은거 다해😚😙😘

그리고 이번 콘에서 처음듣고 꽂힌 웨이트리스 넘버 She used to be mine 이거 찾아보니 헤듹할때 제챡이 불렀었던 모양인데 왜 기억에 없지 내가 못본 외국공연에서 불렀던건가..ㅜㅜ못사는 땅을 칠뿐ㅜㅜ

그나저나 올해 내 연뮤 소원은 마이클리 헤드윅을 꼭 다시 보는 것이다😭😭😭 신이여 도와주소서 이제는 해외공연이라도 따라가겠습니다 충성충성!!!

뻘짓의 향연

* 난데없이 생긴 사랑니 근처 염증. 계속 헐어가고 있어

고통스럽다 ㅜㅜㅜ 그 덕에 주말에 잡아두었던

모든 일정 수수료 물고 다 취소함 우와아아아아앙앜ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

관극이 얼마 안남아서 수수료 뭉탱이맞음 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

9월 하반기 내가 할 수 있는 최대한의 헛된 개뻘짓은

다해본것같아. 요새 충동성 지수가 업그레이드 된것같다.

원래도 타고난 천성 자체가 무계획적인 삶을

지향하는 타입이지만 요새 더욱 일단 저지르고보잔 심리가

강해져서 불필요한 소비를 줄여나갈 필요가 있다.

바로 며칠전 글에 인생은 불나방 어찌고 저찌고 늘어놓았던

어리석은 자여......

* 뭐 굳이 보려면 볼수도 있었겠지만. 여러모로 켕기는 점이

많아서 마음이 계속 불안해 취소했다. ㅜ 사랑니 염증이 그 중

가장 큰 이유이긴 함. 토요일날 사랑니를 뽑아도 문제고

오는 주말에 못뽑아도 입안 염증때문에 고통스러워하며

관극하고 낯선 잠자리에서 편히 자기는 힘들것같았다.

10월 3일에도 관극예정이 잡혀있구. 여러모로 다녀오면

지칠것 같았다.

재작년 봄에도 오른쪽 아래 사랑니 통증이 너무 심해

잡아두었던 쓰릴미 표 공연 당일날 양도 포기하고 날리며

(쩌리석이었음) 못사로 남았던 기억이..... 2년만에 겪는

데자뷰다 ㅇㅇ 이번엔 왼쪽 아래 사랑니. ㅋㅋㅋ

이번이 더 타격이 큰듯....아닌듯...ㅋㅋㅋ

* 관극이란게 참 그르타. 비유가 좀 그렇긴하지만

홈쇼핑 마감임박!!!!! 몇개 남지않았어요!! 이 가격으로

이만큼을 살수 있는건 오직 지금뿐입니다!! 지금 사면

서비스까지!! 소비자 심리를 자극하는것처럼 극은

막공기간이 정해져있어서 이제 볼날이 얼마 남지 않았어요!!!

이때 아니면 이 캐슷과 이 극은 언제 다시 또 돌아올지

모릅니다!!!ㅋㅋ 가 되버리니까 관심없던 극도 영업당하면

가기 전에 한번은 봐야하지 않을까라는 생각이 들고 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

홈쇼핑물건은 매진이어도 나중에 구할수 있는게 많다지만

극은 딱 한번뿐인 시공간의 흐름의 환영을 사는거라.

더 놓치기 싫은 그런 마음이 있는것 같아...

그래서 굿즈도 사게되는거고 ㅋㅋㅋ

* 아무래도 현생사는 지방러다보니 공연을 자주보기

힘든상황이라 가벼운 마음보다 좀 더 신중해진다.

돈 시간 에너지를 쏟는 일이라 더욱.

내 관극 스타일을 보면

1. 관심있었던 작품을 감상하고나서 내 생각보다 그닥이었다.라는 생각이 들어도 후회없을 것같은 공연을 결국 보게 된다. 별로라 해도 일단 내가 뚜껑은 열어보고 판단하고 싶은 끌림이 강한 극. 애초에 강한 끌림이 없는 극은 나중에 끝까지 보고싶은 마음이 결국 사라진다. 내가 정말 보고싶었던 극은 대부분 만족스러웠다.

2. 같은 작품 회전문 도는 스타일이 아님. 최대 두번까지가 제일 좋으면서 그 이상은 한계치. 아무리 좋았던 작품도 줄거리나 넘버에 쉽게 질려버리기 때문에 재관람도 많은 텀을 두고 보는게 좋���.(페어 다르게) 올려진 작품이 1년내에 금방 오지 않는 연뮤 풍토가 내겐 괜찮은듯도 싶다. 처음보는 관극이 주는 신선함. 첫느낌이 내게 있어 연뮤의 가장 큰 매력인것 같다.

3.서양고전명작 바탕으로 한 대극장 작품 다수 안끌림 (ex.삼총사.바람사 etc) 천사 악마 등 판타지 요소 대놓고 들어간 작품 안끌림. (ex. 알앤디 창작극 - 마돈크. 더데빌.etc ) 그중 몇 작품은 취향일수도 있고 직접 보면 생각이 달라질수도 있겠지만 굳이 내 돈 주고는 보러가지 않을듯 싶다. 프콜만 봐도 내 취향이 너무 아님.

욕이나 폭력이 너무 직접적인것도 싫어함. 공감 안되거나 서사 애매한 작품 싫어함. (대놓고 아예 병맛극인건 노상관) 사건 흐름에 대한 당위성을 적어도 관객이 추측이라도 할 수 있는 요소가 있어야 함.

* 새벽녘 한바탕 또 주절대었는데ㅋㅋㅋ 요새 의미없는 할말이 많아졌드. 또 하고 싶은 얘기가 많지만 졸려서 다음에 또 이어서!!

            STORY

  특별한 사람들의 평범한 사랑 이야기, 음악극<두결한장>  민수는 종합병원 내과의사이다. 부모님께 효도하는 좋은 아들이다. 행복한 가정을 꾸리길 바라는 부모님을 위해 효진과 결혼했다. 그렇지만 민수는 게이다. 아직 애인은 없다. 1년 후에 효진과 이혼하고 외국으로 나가 자유로운 사랑을 하며 행복하게 살 것이다.

 효진은 산부인과 의사이다. 효진은 예쁜 아기의 좋은 엄마가 되어 줄 생각이다. 아이에겐 법적인 아빠가 필요하다. 그래서 민수와 결혼했다. 입양 절차가 마무리되고 민수와 이혼하면 6년간 사귀어 온 서영이와 아기와 함께 행복하게 살 것이다.

 서영은 다큐멘터리 감독이다. 효진과 6년간의 알콩달콩한 사랑을 이어오고 있다. 효진과 아이를 갖고 행복한 가정을 꾸리기 위해, 효진과 민수의 결혼을 지켜보고 있다. 1년 후엔 효진과 당당하게 살아갈 것이다.

 티나는 항상 행복하다. 낮에는 채소가게의 넉살 좋은 젊은 사장으로, 밤에는 게이 밴드 G-voice의 보컬로 신 나게 살아가고 있다. 요즘 들어 티나를 설레게 하는 한 사람이 있다. 민수를 생각하면 가슴이 떨러 온다. 곧 그에게 사랑을 고백할 것이다. 그리고 시골에 있는 누나에게도 민수를 사랑하는 것에 대해 얘기할 생각이다.

  * 2012년 연뮤 휴덕기와 퀴어 덕덕기 시절 <두결한장>이라는 영화가 세상에 발표됐다. 이미 2008년 10대 민수와 석이의 이야기를 다룬 <소년, 소년을 만나다> 2009년 20대 민수와 석이의 이야기를 다룬 <친구사이?>를 꽤 흥미롭게 봤기 때문에 30대 민수와 석이 이야기를 그린 <두결한장>에 대한 예상 기대치가 어느 정도 자리한 상태였다. 당시 영화는 박희정 작가님의 손을 통해 만화화되었었는데, 만화 버전 스토리가 워낙 탄탄해서 그런지 결과적으로 영화보다 만화가 더 많은 호평을 받기도 했다. 

     물론 당시 영화를 보고 나와서 뻔한 스토리 라인과 퀴어 영화가 아닌 이성 간의 로맨틱 코미디와 같은 선상에서 평가한다면 갈등의 시작과 해결 방법 면에서 아쉬운 점을 더러 집어낼 수 있겠지만, 퀴어 문화는 일반 문화와 늘 다른 존재, 음지의 존재로 취급당하며 살아왔던, 그리고 살고 있는 현대 한국 사회를 고려하자면 늘 진지함과 어두운 분위기로 극을 이끌어가는 전형적인 한국 퀴어 영화와 달리 깨알 같은 웃음 코드가 들어간 로맨틱 코미디 형식의 접근이라는 점도 좋았고, 게이 민수와 레즈비언 효진의 가짜 결혼식을 통해 게이의 이야기뿐만 아니라 레즈비언의 이야기도 적게나마 다뤄줬단 점에서 난 이 영화를 긍정적인 시각으로 바라봤다.

  * 영화 <두결한장> 상영 후 2년이라는 시간이 지났다. 작년엔 영화 <두결한장>의 김조광수 감독은 파트너 김승환 대표와 청계천 광통교에서 공개 결혼식을 올렸다. 당시 우리나라뿐만 아니라 세계 여러 곳에서 일어난 동성 결혼 합법화 문제로 갈등이 일어났었다. 드라마나 영화 장르에서는 여전히 동성애를 반대하는 단체들이 여전히 기세를 부리며 2014년 드라마 스폐셜로 제작된 <형영당일기>의 제작을 반대 시위가 있었다. 그 결과 미스터리 사극으로 장르가 바뀌며 내용이 잔뜩 드러내게 됐다. 동성애 문제를 떠나서 다양한 장르에 손을 대고 있는 글쟁이로써 얼마나 비통한 일인지 모르겠다. (덧. 언제부터 청소년의 정신건강 운운하며 시위에 나설 거면 오래 전부터 썩을 대로 썩은 막장 드라마 쪽도 좀 손들고 시위 좀 해주지.)

 반면 연극 뮤지컬 쪽에선 좀 더 폭이 넓어졌다. 뮤지컬 <헤드윅>은 한국 초연 10주연 맞이했고, 남성 2인극인 뮤지컬 <쓰릴 미> 역시 10주연을 앞두고 있다. 연초 연극 <M.Butterfly> 재연과 연극 <히스토리 보이즈> 재연이 무대 위에 올라왔다. 두 극 모두 성 소수자가 주인공이다. 물론 연극 <M.Butterfly>는 동양 여자에 대한 서양 남자들이 가지고 있는 환상. 그리고 그들의 엇갈린 환상 속에 무게를 맞춘 극이고, 연극 <히스토리 보이즈> 역시 삶의 배움에 무게를 맞춘 극이었다. 2014년 초연을 맞이하는 연극 <수탉들의 싸움> 역시 동성애를 다루고 있지만 동성애보단 자기 자신의 정체성을 찾는 극이었다. 코미디 스릴러 연극 <데스트랩> 역시 시드니와 클리포드 사이의 동성애 요소가 있지만 그보다 인간 내면의 사악함, 그리고 욕망에 초점이 맞춰져있었다. 여기까지 보면 뮤지컬 <헤드윅>을 제외하곤 직접적으로 동성애에 대해 말한다기보다는 동성애는 하나의 샌드위치 속 속 재료에 지나지 않았다.

   그리고 그런 흐름 속에서 ​찬바람이 불기 시작할 때 즈음 연극 <바람직한 청소년>과 연극 <프라이드>가 올라왔다. 앞서 나열했던 극들과 다르게 전자 연극 <바람직한 청소년>은 우등생이지만 게이라는 이유 하나로 반성실에 갇혀 반성문을 쓰게 된 모범생과 허구한 날 주먹다짐을 하면서 반성실 단골손님인 일진의 이야기를 담아내며 우리 사회가 학생들에게 들이미는 잣대를 표현해내고, 후자 연극 <프라이드>는 동성애에 대한 극심한 핍박이 쏟아졌던 1958년과 동성애가 트렌드로 여겨지는 현대(한국 초연 기준 2014년)을 배경으로 동성애에 대한 우리의 편견을 꼬집는다. 이들은 단순한 소재가 아닌 그들의 삶을 그리고 있었다. 특히 후자 연극 <프라이드>의 경우 3시간이라는 벅찬 러닝타임에도 관극러들 사이에서 호평을 받으며, 지금 현재 절찬리에 공연 중이다. 전자 연극 <바람직한 청소년>도 호평을 받으며 지난 늦여름 청소년 대상 창작 뮤지컬 리딩 공연을 통해 뮤지컬화의 가능성을 보여주었다.

    ​ 그 흐름을 이어 음악극 <두결한장>이 올라왔다. 공연을 보고 누군가는 괜찮다 이야기를 하고, 누군가는 불쾌함을 이야기했다. 어느 공연이든 다양한 사람들이 다양한 시각으로 볼 수 있는 것이고, 시간도 돈도 거리도 아깝지 않은 공연이 있는가 하면, 만족감보단 아쉬움이 남는 공연이 있기 마련이지만 음악극 <두결한장>은 다른 공연들과는 다른 중요한 역할과 의미를 가지고 있다. 주로 동성애를 다루고 있는, 혹은 동성애를 샌드위치 속 속 재료처럼 이야기하고 있는 극들은 대부분은 국내 창작극보단 해외의 라이선스 판들 이 많단 점이다. 내가 앞선 음악극 <두결한장>을 포함해 떠들어댄 총 아홉 개의 극 중 연극 <바람직한 청소년>과 음악극 <두결한장>을 제외한 일곱 개의 극이 라이선스 작품이다. 그만큼 동성애라는 소재에 대해 창작극은 턱없는 면역력으로 휘청거리고 있단 소리이며, 아직까지도 많은 사람들이 우리 주변의 문제라기보다는 영화나 드라마, 소설 속에나 나오는 흔히 보기 힘든 문제로 취급하고 있단 소리기도 하다. 그렇기 때문에 동성애를 다룬 창작극의 경우 창작자들의 열린 시각과 마음이 필요한 것이며, 그를 대하는 관극러 역시 비난보다는 비판의 소리에 힘을 실어야 하는 것이 맞다고 본다. (물론 이는 동성애를 다룬 극뿐만 아니라, 다른 창작 연극 뮤지컬에도 해당되는 태도다.)

​ 지금부터 음악극 <두결한장>를 보고 쓰는 후기는 평소에 늘 써왔던 후기들처럼 내가 좋아하는 배우에 대한 칭찬과 애정이 묻어나는 글이 되기도 하겠지만, 한편으로는 이 일들을, 이 고민들을 겪고 있는 “내 사람들”을 지키기 위한 사람의 이야기로도 받아들여줬으면 좋겠다. 어떤 색채도 뒤집어 씌지 않고 오로지 사람과 사람으로서.

    * 문득 ‘네’가, 그리고 또 다른 수많은 ‘네’가 생각나서. 나는 너를 한 번도 사랑하지 않았던 적이 없어. 네가 한 걸음 발을 내딛게 될 때, 네가 바랬던 세상이 아닌 혹독한 바람이 몰아쳐도 나는 거기 서 있을게.

  2014년 10월 11일 음악극 두결한장을 본 날 밤, 너에게.

  * 막이 오르고 행복한 선남선녀의 결혼식이 비친다. 어느 결혼식과 다름없어 보이는 이 결혼식에는 한 가지 깜찍한 비밀이 숨겨있다. 금방이라도 깨가 쏟아질 것 같은 엘리트 의사 커플 민수와 효진은 “사랑”이 아닌 “필요”에 의해 맺어진 계약부부라는 사실! 민수는 게이다. 남자를 좋아한다. 그가 믿고 기댈 수 있는 곳은 그가 자주 들리는 게이 바가 전부다. 부모님이나 주변 사람들에게 커밍아웃하지 않은 채 몸을 웅크리며 사는 그는 매번 들어오는 맞선 자리에 질리기도 하고, 게이인 걸 들킬까 봐 전전긍긍해야 하는 한국 사회에 질려 가짜 결혼을 결심한다. 효진은 레즈비언이다. 파트너 서영과는 학생 때부터 오랜 시간 함께 해왔다. 효진과 서영 사이에 무언가 더 필요하다면 그건 바로 아이다. 효진은 근무하는 병원에서 버려진 작은 아기 나리를 만나게 된다. 하지만 나리를 무사히 입양하기 위해선 결혼이란 굴레가 필요했다. “자유”를 꿈꾸는 민수와 “입양”을 원하는 효진은 완벽한 이중생활을 위해 민수와 효진의 신혼집 바로 옆으로 효진의 파트너 서영이 이사를 오면서 그들의 위태롭고 아슬아슬한 신혼생활이 시작된다.

   민수는 커밍아웃이나 아웃팅에 극도의 불편함과 두려움을 가지고 있다. 효진과 서영의 관계가 부럽기도 하고, 비어버린 집에 혼자 있는 게 외롭긴 하지만 누굴 좋아해도 재고 따지는 게 바빠 제대로 된 연애 한 번 못하고 오매불망 이혼(해방)의 그날만을 기다린다. 그리고 그런 민수를 한결같이 바라만 보는 사람이 하나 있다. 바로 시골에서 올라와 누나가 지은 실한 야채들로 야채가게를 운영하고 있는 티나. 분홍색 티셔츠에 아줌마 같은 보글보글 파마머리, 그리고 여성스러운 행동들, 극 위에서 티나의 모습은 우리의 편견 속에 자리하고 있는 게이의 이미지와 닮아있다 민수 역시 티나가 싫진 않지만, 혹여나 걸어 다니는 게이 이미지의 티나와 함께 다니다가 강제 아웃팅을 당하거나, 오해를 사는 것이 아닌가 불안한 민수는 티나를 밀어내고, 아픈 말로 그의 심장을 콕콕 찌르기도 한다. 속 좋은 티나는 그래도 민수가 좋다고, 그런 민수의 행동도, 말도 이해할 수 있다며 고개를 끄덕일 줄만 안다.

   그러다 근무하는 병원에서 효진이 강제 아웃팅을 당하고, 그로 인해 민수와 효진의 가짜 부부 생활에도 적신호 등이 켜진다. 사람들의 편견과 이유없는 비난 속에서 상처받고, 그런 효진을 바라보는 민수 역시 불안하고 불편하다. 결국 민수는 해외 유학 시기를 앞당기지만, 티나가 쓰러져 병원에 입원하게 됐다는 소식을 듣게 된다. 민수는 뒤늦게 병원을 향해 달려가고 티나를 만나지만 그를 맞이하는 건 티나가 죽음을 암둔 시한부 라는 사실과 함께 아무래도 “그쪽” 같아 불편하니 병실이 없다 둘러대며 다른 병원으로 트랜스퍼 보내자는 동료 의사의 제안이었다. 티나를 병원에서 내쫓으려는 사람들과 티나를 지키려는 효진과 서영, 그 사이에 샌드위치처럼 끼어있던 민수는 자신의 입으로 티나가 자신이 사랑하는 사람이라며, 커밍아웃 한다.

  * 영화가 음악극 <두결한장>으로 다시 쓰이면서 연출가는 과감한 시도를 했다. 민수의 짝인 바텐더 석이를 이야기에서 드러내고, 야채가게 주인 티나를 민수의 짝으로 설정을 바꾸면서 이야기의 전체적인 흐름을 바꿔놓았다. 이 점에 대해 사실 극이 올라가기 전에 원작을 알고 있는 사람들 사이에게 우려와 걱정이 쏟아지기도 했었지만, 막상을 극을 보니 해외에 살다 온 석이의 에피를 서영이 대신하면서 영화에서는 양념처럼 느껴졌던 서영과 효진의 이야기의 비중이 높아지는 효과를 줬단 점과 시골에서 온 티나를 주인공 자리에 앉히면서 아직 게이나 레즈비언 같은 용어에 익숙지 않은 시골 사람들 이야기, 그리고 서영과의 촬영을 통해 커밍아웃을 결심하지만 결과적으로 누나에게 자신의 정체성을 밝히지 못하고 머뭇거리는 모습들을 다양하게 담아낼 수 있단 점에서 괜찮은 변화였다고 생각한다.

   게다가 위에서 말했던 것처럼 서영과 효진의 이야기 비중이 늘어난 것뿐만 아니라, 서영의 직업을 성 소수자들에 대한 다큐를 찍는 PD 설정하면서 지보이스 멤버들 인터뷰를 따는 장면들이 음악극에 들어가 좋았다. 개인적인 이유에서 티나 인터뷰가 가장 찡하긴 했었지만, 투닥투닥 다투기도 하지만 귀여운 커플인 왕언니와 주노 인터뷰도 좋았고, 키스하기 전에 나눠야 하는 말이 아임 쏘리가 아니길 바라는 마음에 게이 바를 시작한 경남의 인터뷰도 좋았다. 주노가 중간에 나는 여자들 얘기 잘 들어주면 돈이 생기지, 자기는 남자들 얘기 잘 들어주면 뭐가 생기냐?! 하고 따지니깐 왕언니가 네가 생겼다 (!) 하는데 으으 닭살 하면서도 부럽기도 하고, 저게 사람 사는 건데 누구의 사랑을 우리가 잣대 내릴 수 있나 생각도 들고.  

 물론 그 과정에서 이야기는 중심을 잃고 제대로 되지 못한 마무리를 짓기도 했다. 예를 들면 민수와 티나가 서로에게 마음을 표현하고 사랑에 빠지는 과정이라던지, 주변 사람들과의 갈등관계에 대한 해결 방법이라든지 하는 부분에서 특히나 부족함이 보였다. 무엇보다 영화와 만화의 해피엔딩을 좋아했던 사람으로서 이렇게 티나만 아프고 끝나는 엔딩이 맘에 안 들기도 했었고, 아무래도 창작 초연이다 보니 부족한 점이 더 많게 느껴지는 건 사실이고 앞으로 수정해야 할 부분이 산더미지만 극에 대한 애정으로도 넘어가기 힘든 장면이 있었는데 바로 자칫 가볍게만 느껴질 수 있는 장례식 장면이었다. 제발 누가 수정 좀 해주세요,라고 빌었었는데 그 기도를 연출이 들었는지 그 후 다녀오신 분들 말씀으로는 그 부분에 대해 수정되었다는 하니 뒤늦게나마 얼마나 다행인지 모르겠다.

   그리고 또 하나 논란이 되었던 ​티나의 웨딩드레스 신. 사실 나도 저 장면이 오해와 편견을 심어줄 수 있단 생각도 하고 같이 본 지인이라 이 장면이 불편하단 소리를 하긴 했었는데 막상 집에 돌아와 생각해보면 그건 또 다른 의미의 편견이 될 수 있지도 않나란 생각을 했다. 세상에 다양한 사람들이 존재하고, 대다수의 게이들이, 대다수의 레즈비언이, 대다수의 트랜스젠더가라는 표현 자체가 사람들을 하나의 틀 안에 가두는 행위가 아닐까. 하나하나 좋아하는 것, 표현하려고 하는 것, 드러내려고 하는 것, 감추려고 하는 것들이 다른데 어떻게 보편적인 모습이 있을 수 있을까,라는 시각에서 보면 민수를 좋아하면서도, 민수의 위장 결혼에 속병을 할 수밖에 없었던 티나가 효진의 웨딩드레스에게 갖는 동경심은 당연한 걸지도 모른다. 다만 이 장면이 불편한 건 우리가 “이건 좀 아닌 것 같아.” 라는 편견을 가지고 있기 때문이 아니었을까. (물론 이 장면에서 티나를 밀어내기만 하는 민수가 갑자기 “예쁘다.” 하면서 티나와 스파크가 파바박 튄다던가, 어디선가 끈적끈적한 분위기로 억지로 몰고 가는 흐름은 삐삐 경고를 보내고 싶지만.)

  * 뻔하고 빤한 스토리지만 그럼에도 난 음악극 <두결한장>이 좋았고 또 아팠다. 내가 바쁘다고 잊고 살았던 사람들을 떠올리게도 했었고, 처음 만날 때부터 지금까지 티나가 안고 있던 고민을 하던 친구가 겹쳐 보이기도 했었고, 병원 장면 같은 경우에는 실제로 비슷한 대화를 나누는 장면 우연히 들었던 적이 있어서 그런지 되게 맘이 답답했다. 물론 여기엔 내가 본 날 배우님들이 나랑 잘 맞기도 하고, 워낙 기존 극들에서도 뛰어난 스토리 전달 능력을 가진 배우님들인 것도 아마 한몫하지 않았나 싶다. 아직은 부족함을 채우고 고칠 것도 많은데다 나아가야 할 길 많은 퀴어극이지만, 꾸준히 소통해서 좋은 극으로 자리 잡았으면 좋겠다.

  * 덧붙여 퀴어 문화를 접할 때, 무언가를 싫어하고, 혐오하는 것 역시 내 취향이니 존중해달라는 말을 들을 때 가장 화가 난다. 누군가를 싫어하고, 그로 인해 타인에게 상처 주는 행위가 어떻게 취향으로써 존중받을 수 있는 걸까. 퀴어 뿐만 아니라 그 어떤 장르에서든.

His subordinates bound my limbs, and the commander issued an order. “When the sun rises, throw him out to burn.” At that moment, one vampire soldier stepped forward, subduing them all and biting down on one. As if annoyed, the commander left. The soldier extended a hand to me. In his hand lay a single silver coin.

이거였음 소재로는 암전, 빛, 익살스러움 이걸로 했고 도수 쎈건 싫어서(술은 좋은데 지금은 취하고 싶지 않음) 도수 낮춰달라고 해서 나온 칵테일!

데코가 눈에 띄었던게, 위는 맑았는데 아래는 까만게 옹기종기 모여있어갖고...그리고 위에 국화? 메리골드? 그게 올라가 있어서 빛들 형상화한 거 같았음!! 글고 안에는 라임이 여러 개 있어서 태양 내지는 조명 같았구...ㅜㅜ 문장 적힌 종이도 신의 한 수 같은게ㅠㅠ 딸깍! 부분에 이미지가 겹쳐서 오연은 고정이었지만 육연에서는 계속 바뀌는 부분이라...그게 형상화 된 거 같아(코걸이 귀걸이지만ㅎㅎㅠㅜ) 좋았다.....아 글고 커피빈도 눈에 띔! 전에는 이런 자잘한 디테일이 없어서 문장 해석하시는 분의 스타일이 달라지셨나 했는데(뭔가 데코를 하시긴 하셨음) 해석하시는 분이 늘어나셨더라...

섞지 않고 마셨을땐 단 맛이 적은 깔끔한 음료수의 맛이었음....최애는 달달하구나...(ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ) 맛에 대한건 관여 안 했는데, 타인이 접하기엔 이 문장이 좀 몽글몽글한 부분이 있었나봄....

섞으니까 밑에 있던 시럽 같은게 섞여서 서서히 까매짐....보라색에 가깝긴 하다...하ㅠ 섞으니까 까매지는게 암전 아님 뭐지ㅠㅠㅠ 해석 너무 좋음ㅠㅜㅜ 게다가 블렌딩 노트에 얼그레이가 들어가있고, 위에 커피빈이 있으니까 잠 하면 사람들이 카페인으로 깨려 하니까 이 부분에 집중한 거 같아서 각성에 가까워 조앗다.....왜냐면 스퀘어때 홀로 있는 보컬은 계속 깨어있는 상태니까,,,,,ㅎ ㅏ,,,,,다 섞고 마셔보니 완전 달달한 음료ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 최애는 달구나,,,(우리집 달아도 되나.....(...)) 너무 즐거워....제 3차 창작은 아름답다....

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ마시고 잔의 붙은 잎사귀 모양이 너무 예쁘게 붙어서ㅠㅠ 개웃김.....하...행복했다....나머지 두 잔은 또 다른 씹타쿠 이야기라서(안 연뮤) 제외....다다랩 또 가고 싶네...방금 갔다 왔는데....역시 여긴 오타쿠랑 가야하는 곳ㅠㅠ

"you call yourselves sightless, trying to ignore the reality of your disability," ignacio says, "but in truth, you're all blind. we all are." while ignacio rationalises his suffering through his unfair lot in life, the students' leader carlos upholds optimism to disavow the limitations of their unseeing eyes. clinging fast to their own belief systems, carlos and ignacio inevitably clash — and their conflict heralds a chaos that will shake the very foundation that the school has been built upon.

synopsis: suffering from the aftereffects of meningitis and secluded in a mental institution, the playwright antonin artaud learns of the deceased painter vincent van gogh. gazing at the postcards of gogh's paintings, artaud sinks into the realm of his unconscious, seeking out gogh to validate his own creative beliefs. misunderstood and shunned by a world that does not understand their art, artaud and gogh soon find a kindred spirit in each other...
