Angel doesn't need to eat.

She can taste food, and enjoy it- but she won't feel the sensation of an empty stomach, or gnawing hunger pains. It doesn't stop her from savoring what she does have, though; food to her is a means through which care is expressed, and through which she's learned to express her own care.

But, really, she doesn't need to eat in the same way she doesn't need to sleep- her body can certainly grow weary, and her muscles can ache and strain, but she won't feel any sensation of sleepiness.

It's something she shares with her brothers, or at least a few of them. Though all relatively close in age, it isn't difficult to notice differences based on their creation order; the eldest ones have the characteristics of traditional servants, created to tirelessly serve a single purpose. Moving down the birth order means an increase in characteristics more akin to life on Earth- a need for energy, metabolisms, and benefiting from rest.

As angels, they're a spectrum- a representation of what happens when an entire group turns away from the innate purpose they were given, and towards something different. Their biology is gradually following along with them.

eye color: Blue- a shade that seems too deep to be natural.

hair style/color: Blonde and silky- will form locks if it's down, but most commonly worn in an ornate bun.

height: Most often 5'11"

clothing style: A simple sort of ethereal- her usual robes are white, and flowy enough to keep her comfortable without limiting her movement. If she's wearing human clothes, she'll tend to drift towards light/neutral colors, and "academia" type clothing- but she's been known to enjoy a sundress from time to time, and won't mind experimenting with new trends or items she hasn't encountered before.

best physical feature: If you ask her, her wings!! She also has a positive view of her own scars. (But if you ask the mun, her face- her resting expression is what makes her seem approachable and warm!!)

This feeling was . . . Confusing. It wasn't anything that she'd ever remembered feeling before. And Angel had certainly felt her share of things recently.

By all means, it should've felt nice- or even a little good. She'd spent decades chasing the freedom of a man who'd fought against it, tooth and nail. And he was free, finally.

(Would she go to see him? It had been some time since she'd last tried. She hadn't gone to find Kazuya yet.)

But there was something weighted that tugged at her heart, pulling it downwards. How could a heart be so happy and so heavy at the same time? How could that be?

(The thought fizzled out as quickly as it came. No, maybe she wouldn't. Not now, and maybe not for a while. Perhaps not ever. Could she live with that?)

"...Goodness," she mouths, and it's something she releases quietly. There were others she could check on in the meantime, while she made sense of this.. Sensation.

What is the most interesting thing about humans to Angel?

Angel thinks humans are a little more immortal than they give themselves credit for! Someone will die and be laid to rest; centuries later their nose will appear on someone she sees on the bus, and their voice will come out of the mouth of the barista at the café she's gone to. She'll see a birthmark get passed down family lines, and watch different people fall in love with the same features over and over, and think to herself that nobody ever truly dies here- for better or for worse.

(She also finds emotions interesting- specifically how humans handle theirs! She wasn't created or intended to develop tangible feelings in the way that she did, but she doesn't regret it. There's a wide spectrum of how humans process their emotions- sometimes healthily, sometimes a little less so- that will always fascinate her.)

LOVE - There is love everlasting, first and foremost. Angel was not meant to feel much of anything, least of all something such as this. But it spills out of her in rivers, and it's the emotion she welcomes and understands the most- no matter how it may choose to sting. She holds love in her heart for many things, and many people; her brothers, Kazuya, the life and people of Earth. It drives her to stay, and never truly fades.

WRATH - If love runs in rivers, wrath is a flood. It comes strongly and suddenly, sometimes in the middle of a fight. Though it can appear with a cause, such as any sort of danger to something she cares for, it's her most unreasonable emotion- demanding action almost immediately, and force with it. It has its purpose and its place, as all emotions do- but to onlookers, it may seem sudden and a far departure from her usual demeanor. It is usually reserved for those deemed threats. (Perhaps it's a call back to how she was made, and who she was supposed to serve?)

NEUTRALITY - Usually present in the absence of other feelings- and what she commonly defaults to expression-wise. For Angel, a face of calm gives her two things: the freedom to dissect her emotions as they appear, and a level head. Calmness and serenity are the faces she most commonly displays, even if she's feeling something else.

CURIOSITY - Earth changes and evolves a little more with each passing year. There are concepts and technologies here that didn't exist five years ago, much less fifty. Life on Earth is a continuous surprise, a constantly changing fascination- and it's for this reason that she enjoys getting to learn

WEARINESS - Perhaps the feeling she displays the least, though it hangs off of her. She's been here for quite some time now, chasing after near-impossible goals. There are scars she bears that were not there when she arrived.

BURNING FEATHERS. From her necessary sacrifice after the second tournament. Don't think too much about it. Everything is alright now.

APPLE BLOSSOMS. From a perfume she'd gotten ahold of, while roaming from place to place, and from the sunny orchards of a home she thinks of often.

SALINE. Sanitation before every experimental procedure. From a place she was held for a short while, undergoing various procedures. The smell is the thing that sticks around the most.

VANILLA. Many of the recipes she's learning to bake for fighters call for it, and the scent seems to follow her.

𝙲𝙻𝙾𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙶. 

WHITE ROBES. What she wears as angel, when not disguised as a human. Trimmed with gold thread, flowy enough to allow for flight and fighting.

LOOSE, FLOWY PANTS. Because she can't wear holy robes everywhere. Looser pants are comfortable, and allow for ease of movement as she heads from place to place.

LIGHT BLOUSES. Nice to wear aesthetically, and practically. Lighter, looser sleeves are enjoyable for her to wear, and aren't too restricting.

SUNDRESSES. Nice to wear on occasion, and on slower days. They're really quite lovely.

VARIOUS ERA GARMENTS. From previous visits to Earth, when everything looked much different- and when passing as human meant becoming a servant, or a noblewoman, or a visiting traveler.

𝙾𝙱𝙹𝙴𝙲𝚃𝚂. 

CIRCLET. A gift from her brother. It wraps around her head, with a small moonstone set in the center to rest on her forehead.

SWORD. Though her primary weapon is herself, she's more than able to continue altercations with the use of her sword. It's a solid weapon to direct her mana through.

PHONE. A recent addition to her belongings. She hadn't previously seen any need for one, but it lets her check in on the humans who are familiar with her, and who she's familiar with too. She's getting the hang of it.

𝚅𝙸C𝙴𝚂 / 𝙱𝙰𝙳 𝙷𝙰𝙱𝙸𝚃𝚂.

DODGING QUESTIONS. Many questions have uncomfortable answers. Some have painful ones. In a world where there are many questions left unanswered, it isn't uncommon for some to have questions for her- such as hows, and whys, and even whos. It's difficult to balance forbidden knowledge with the knowledge that will hurt. Sometimes the easiest thing to do, especially for questions concerning her, is to deflect, deflect, deflect.

OVEREXTENDING. Where love becomes the most dangerous emotion for her to feel. Anger eventually simmers down; grief eases slowly over time. But because she loves, she fights- often to degrees that are excessive, even for her. There are no limits for parts of herself she will give up to help- and for those especially close to her, such as her family, it can mean intense worry. There is a fine line between compassion and destroying oneself, and she walks it like a tightrope.

REPRESSION. Because emotions come oddly, (and inconveniently, at times), it can mean the easiest thing to do is pack them away for later. When later comes, she can examine them, process them in their own ways. The problem comes about when later becomes after, and after becomes sometime, and sometime becomes eventually.

VANISHING. In recent years, keeping her cover has become paramount. It keeps trouble from following her, allows her to go to it instead. Although finding her isn't difficult for those familiar with her, constant relocation can make chasing after her a hassle. Perhaps summoning her would be easier.

𝙱𝙾𝙳𝚈 𝙻𝙰𝙽𝙶𝚄𝙰𝙶𝙴.

HEAD TILTS. An expression of curiosity or intrigue, and one she tends to do from time to time.

SMOOTH STEPS. There's a level of grace to the way she moves about.

JITTERS. Subtle, but a noticeable break from her usual calm demeanor. Usually happens when in a confined space for a significant period of time.

RELAXED POSTURE. It's important for her to maintain a relaxed posture prior to a fight. It gives her the ability to react quickly and smoothly to sudden blows, and readies her to deliver some of her own. As battles progress, and based on how injured she is, this may or may not stay.

𝙰𝙴𝚂𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚃𝙸𝙲𝚂.

THE COLOR WHITE. Renewal, hope, rebirth. The robes she wears bear this color.

THE SUN. Constant, radiant light from above.

FEATHERS. Soft and white. They tend to linger around places she's been, and dissolve into light if not touched.

ANCIENT GREEK STATUES. Some would say she bears a resemblance to a few of them.

BRIGHT CLOUDS; CLEAR SKIES.

SUNLIT CAFÉS.

90s JAPAN. Her time with Kazuya in the second tournament.

And just like that, it is done.

(Angel is currently leaned against the window of a hotel room she’d chosen to stay in. It had started to get sunny in the past half hour or so, which was many times nicer than the bruise hue the heavens had taken on earlier. It was amazing how much she could glean about current happenings, just from watching the sky.)

It is done.

(The threads about her fingers are looser. It had been an arduous task to get them all together- but the fighters had done the rest.)

It.. Is done.

(It is easier to breathe now. Significantly so. They are free, freer than perhaps they've ever been before. He is free, in his own way.)

It is done.

(But the Devil Gene isn't gone.)

And the world will need tending to heal.

So Angel digs her fingernails into her palms, gazes upon the blue sky, and vows to stay for a little while longer.

Have you always been an Angel? Or were you once someone else in a past life?

There's a moment of quiet contemplation that follows the question. It lingers in the air for a moment, as she sifts through memories that often sit on one of the higher shelves in her mind. It had been a while since she'd reached up to pull them down, and they'd gotten rather dusty.

"As far as I know," she begins, "I've always been the way that I am."

She'd been born, and she was she. It had all begun when she'd stepped into herself, and out of nothing. There had been no childhood, nor nurture under a gentle parent's touch; she was Angel amongst humans, and a different name entirely amongst her siblings. They had been the first ones she could remember alongside her. They'd been born grown together, for there was no need for infancy- which the art of nurture had been learned through observings, and tryings, and persistent self-teachings.

It left the question of what she was for unanswered. But that was a query Angel liked to answer in her own time, and through her own actions. She would write that part herself.

"I've been many someones here on Earth," she continues, smiling faintly at the memory. "So I suppose I've lived plenty of past lives, haven't I?"

(( As far as affection and love languages go, it isn't difficult to tell when Angel cares about something or someone! She's very much a touch oriented kind of carer- and if she knows someone's comfortable with it, she'll do small things like resting her hand on someone's shoulder, pushing stray strands of their hair back into place, or letting them lean against her if they need to.

It's one of the reasons why she hugs Kazuya back in the time of the second tournament- to her, hugs are a way of expressing care and protection. Hugging someone means that she can keep them safe in her own arms- and it's the notion of holding those dear to her that makes her feel truly able to protect them.

If she's watching over someone that doesn't appreciate or isn't open to physical touch, that same expression of care doesn't go away! It just takes different forms, like in the way that crows leave behind small gifts. There are always some aspects of human culture that she's still learning to understand- but leaving trinkets behind, especially one that a person might've mentioned liking, are another way to know that she cares.

(And- of course- she's been known to have food sent too. Whether she brings it herself, or has it delivered from a mysterious unknown benefactor, she'll never say!)

ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝕊𝕥𝕦𝕕𝕪: 𝕃𝕚𝕜𝕖𝕤/ℙ𝕣𝕖𝕗𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕟𝕔𝕖𝕤

𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐔𝐈𝐓𝐒 : Peaches and apples! Apples remind her of home, and there are plenty of orchards- but peaches were something she grew to love during the second tournament, especially with how long she was in Japan with Kazuya.

𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 : Being in supermarkets, malls, and stores. Humans can really go into one place and find nearly anything they can put their minds to? Incredible. Unimagineable. She will be in there until closing if she's not careful, although being locked in wouldn't be too much of an issue.

She also enjoys gardening- it's something she's naturally pretty good with, and she probably has a few plants she likes to return to every now and then. Eating isn't necessary for her, so she's not too much of a chef- but there are a few highly specific dishes she's learned to make for humans in the past. (And, lo and behold, she can indeed sing! It's not something she does frequently, as she puts more of an emphasis on maintaining her strength- but you might hear her hum from time to time!)

𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒 : She learned once, back when flowers had meanings, that Gladiolus are the flowers of the gladiators- so she likens herself to them sometimes. Other than that, she'll gravitate towards forget-me-nots, daisies, and olive branches of all things!

𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 : Early to mid spring. There's a period of time where everything thaws, and things begin to bloom again, that she loves.

𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐒 : Fireflies and moths! She frequently sees both if she's out flying at night, so they've become welcome company.

𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐒 : It's hard to find an animal she doesn't like, partially because of her knowing Jun so well! Much like you'd expect from her, she's friendly with doves. She can enjoy big dogs and cats alike, often gets along with birds during her flights, and wouldn't mind taking time to say hello to particularly friendly pets.

(But, if you ask her for her real favorite: rabbits. She thinks they have cute noses.)

𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐆𝐄𝐌𝐒 : Moonstone! It's the gem that sits in her circlet, and it makes a few extra appearances in her TTT2 outfit. It was a gift from a brother of hers, so she tends to cherish it.

𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘 : Dawn! The moment when the sun begins to rise will always be her favorite.

How do you feel about the king of iron fist tournaments and it's competitors?

"I think I've always found them rather interesting. And sometimes, very convenient too. I get to learn about plenty of people during the span of one event, which means less having to fly everywhere."

She smiles a bit.

"But it's quite evident to me that the tournaments were never just a game. Not to most who participates. They're hosted for a reason, and they're participated in for many separate reasons alike.

I think the ways competitors spar and train amongst each other is the truest of the tournaments. But there's always been far too much at stake for that to be all there is. Even still, it's refreshing to see the rivalries, and the natural desire to compare abilities."

(( Wing maintenance is a pretty necessary thing for Angel- and it's something that creatures like her do regularly, or at least when they get the chance. Molting happens less regularly if she hasn't taken too much damage to her wings- but if she's been in more fights recently, she'll tend to lose feathers in stages as they replace themselves. This can take a couple weeks to a few months, depending on how much needs to be replaced!

Mostly, though, all she needs to do is keep them clean and maintained. Her feathers are already soft, and she'll lose a bit more if she's more stressed than usual- but running her hands through them every now and then is good enough for getting rid of old damaged feathers.

Wing-grooming is something that angels normally help each other with, and can be a really lovely social process and expression of care- but with her being separated and alone on Earth, she tends to take care of that on her own! If she trusts someone enough to not clip feathers or cause harm, human or otherwise, she won't mind them touching her wings either- even if she's a bit caught off guard at first!

Love is a strange, kind, and cruel thing. Angel knows it well, and it’s one of her favorite things to observe.

If someone asks her to, she won’t mind pulling a few certain red strings to help them in romantic escapades. Although she can’t- and won’t- control anyone, or their feelings for one another, she can bring them into each other’s lives- and that’s sometimes all she needs to do. She finds it sweet.

It doesn’t mean romance is the only option there is. She can bring enemies into each others’ lives, or introduce those meant to be close friends. She can even cement a complete aversion from romance, with a few key knots she’ll tie here and there for any soul that asks.

It doesn’t mean she hasn’t had a few romantic adventures of her own- but if someone were to approach her, she’d default to thinking they wanted her help with wooing someone.
