Ruby and Otis' relationship rly solidifies the fact for me that Otis was truly her first real boyfriend. Sure she's dated and slept around a lot and been with people. but no one's ever officially asked her to be their girlfriend. no one's actually wanted to hold her hand while walking into school and be soft and sweet with her.

especially in the scenes like where u can tell ruby has no idea what to do: setting up a date, just...commanding him in general lol like she obvs hasn't been in a real relationship. and truly falling in love with otis was so important for her arc. i just love her so much (im watching THIS RN AND I LOVE HER)

eyes roll so hard she fears they may fall right out of her head ────── the only implication of displeasure upon her face, the rest actively resisting a grin. and yet, despite the performance, she complies to @immobiliter 's request ― flipping her hair off a shoulder in order to strike a subtle pose to display her exquisite taste. a jean miniskirt synched at her waist, a perfectly fitted gucci crop top she managed to snag at a discount due to the large tear in the back which she perfectly hides with a smart and colorful jacket. she allows his eyes to wander, pride swelling beneath her breast as his eyes linger upon her body ― soaking in the warmth of jackson's spotlight 'til her cheeks began to burn and embarrassment begins to gnaw at her tongue...
