Genuinely not a smart person when it comes to others. Very academically smart and gifted in his talents, but lacks street smarts. Or just ignores it all together. Could very easily get tricked and played out by women. He also lives in projections, idealizations, romanticizations, and delusions of grandeur. Most of his relationships are just idealized versions of these women because he can, loves romance, very easily swayed by a gorgeous woman. He also has the tendency to “morph” or mend his personality or even aesthetic to maintain these relationships and become like his partner. There’s always a deeper meaning and he just can’t take things at face value lol. With time he forged genuine connections though.

Changed / updated some Mystery Ink! lore bc I’ve been very fixated on them lately. I’ll have to update with their info on their bios tomorrow!

Now that I think about it I don’t like / it doesn’t make sense for them to still be making together in the present day. I’d say after a decade and reaching the peak of their career the group naturally came to an end. The members decided to branch out into their own avenues. I think they still come together to release an album every few years, but they’ve established themselves as their own artists / brands outside of their band.

Luci is the biggest star to come out of the band and has her own brand recognition. The only one with a big active career in music atm. She loves performing, has natural charisma, and is versatile enough to launch her own solo career. Her music takes rock / rap / r&b influences (similar to r.ico nasty, d.oja cat, d.oechii). She’s known for her daring fashion choices and being experimental. Definitely highly regarded for popularizing punk fashion for women of color. I like to think she’s made many collaborations with fast fashion brands. Is one of those celebrities with a hair line related to hair dyes, wigs, etc directed towards textured hair. A trailblazer.

Shayne comes from money and connections in the music industry from his dad’s end. I like to think he and Dev (another member) started their own smaller label with backup from his dad. Even though he’s an ass, Shayne is actually great with business negotiations, has an eye for talent, and is good at creating a vision. Manages some smaller artists, helped Luci build a brand. He loves and misses being in the spotlight honestly, but he’s talented at what he does. Gets his fix of attention from being in the tabloids and doing the most on social media lol.

Dev as I mentioned co-found a label with Shayne. ( he’s a side character I need to add now that I’ve fleshed him out ). He focuses more on the music production and writing rather than the managerial stuff. Very lowkey and likes to keep to himself. Immerses himself into the creative process. Multitalented, plays multiple instruments, and really just gets how to create music.

Jett is…. Jett honestly lol. He comes from some amount of money and has made enough in his career to not be worried about money or fame. At this point he’s simply doing side quests and whatever makes him happy. He’s become more of an Internet personality. He likes to go on livestream and play video games and interact with his fans. He’ll put out guitar covers and videos since he’s a phenomenal guitarist. Has had a couple collabs with Ibanez or Fender for his own special edition guitars. Maybe has some features. He’s there for the vibes and I love that for him.

Honestly their label is a group effort. They’re all part of it in some way shape or form. Still very much connected despite being in their own lanes. Release music occasionally as a group for the fan service and nostalgia.

Bc I’m very fixated on Faye atm … here’s some lore & hcs

She’s an only child, and because of this she’s been surrounded by adults her whole life (except school obvs). It’s helped her mature faster and being raised knowing how the world truly worked. Always listened in on the adults at the parties and get together that her parents hosted. Her nosiness stems from being the only kid in rooms full of scandalous adults - it was the only way to have fun.

The gossip blog and shit stirring definitely came from a place of jealousy when Faye was a teen - early adult age. She was always jealous of her other Hollywood and nepo baby peers who were allowed to enter the industry. Her dad was strongly against it and not having it at all lol.

Speaking of which! Her parents are great and she had a close relationship with them. Her dad hails from a business oriented real estate titan family. They’re very humble Italian-Americans from NYC. Her dad always wanted to instill being humble and good values in Faye, rather than being a vapid spoiled teen in the Hollywood industry.

Her mom is a nepo baby, who is the daughter of famous musicians. Grew up heavily involved in the industry as a model and video vixen, but traded that in early on to be a trophy wife. Her mom is still somewhat involved in the industry on one of those Real Housewives of Beverly Hills shows. She’s sweet and a great mom but ditzy and airheaded. Similar to Regina George’s mom.

Watching her mom has helped Faye cultivate the seemingly friendly and vapid personality whenever she needs to use it. She really has the best of both worlds with her parents and it’s shaped her two-sided personality a lot.

Hated it at the time, but Faye’s secretly glad that her dad pushed her to have an education and not get involved in Hollywood weird shit. This extended to her education and things growing up - her parents tried to give her the most “normal life” a super wealthy child could have.

She’s very boujee and above it all lowkey. She’s not really interested in having deep relationships with celebrities. And she doesn’t really think they’re ‘capable’ or anything deep. Sees them all as dumb and shallow and worth the exploitation. Would never get involved with one romantically.

haven't felt like writing so here's some more Yoon family lore.

I've been mulling over this thought for the past week and I don't think they're as loving and close as I initially thought they'd be. The way they feel about each other is definitely more on the negative side and they all have slight levels of animosity. But they also like to convince themselves / maintain appearances of being a perfect adoring family.

As someone who basically had to be the head of the household as a teenager (once mom died, and their dad is off focusing on himself lol) Audrie understandably has a lot mixed feelings. Resents their dad a lot to this day, won't communicate with him unless it's a holiday or family matter. Loves her siblings and practically raised them, but also finds them to be spoiled for numerous reasons - like them not having the same level of pressure as she did growing up, and just the fact that she had to struggle and do everything on her own. But slowly accepting that none of that is Lance/Gemma's fault. Does think they need to get their shit together though lol.

Lance is def the least favorite and he knows. Depending on the day he either doesn't care or let's it eat at him. Loves his sisters ofc but finds them uppity. Thinks Gemma's attachment to him is clingy/childish, finds her exhausting as a person, and is constantly annoyed with how she dumps her dog and every other responsibility onto him. Then he just finds Audrie patronizing and thinks her opinions are judgemental and unwarranted. Always feels like his sisters try to be nosy or too involved in his personal life. Despite it all he respects Audrie a lot as a person and has a soft spot for Gemma since they grew up close.

Gemma is just... Gemma. She loves the people she loves firecely but she's the center of her universe. Doesn't have any animosity exactly, but does feel insecure and dumb compared to her older siblings. They got into ivy league schools with ease, while she had very average grades and had to go to an average university. Doesn't feel like she'd measure up. Admires Audrie and Lance sooo much but calls them 'so mean' when they don't wanna entertain her lol. Bugs them all day long when she's back home. As the youngest she's their dad's 'perfect angel who can do no wrong' which makes her older siblings eyeroll.

inter-muse dynamics I’m kinda obsessed with at the moment + elaborations

Faye & Gemma

They're originally best friends but since revamping Faye's character, I’ve adapted their relationship. Pretty much they met in high school when Faye’s family moved to London temporarily to pursue business/real estate opportunities. They were close and had a best friend group (with their other friend Astrid), but Faye was always a bit problematic… had the tendency to wanna one up Gemma and Astrid. Everything they had, Faye wanted it but better. Despite this, she never had any animosity towards them and genuinely loved her friends. Their friendship fizzled out over the years as everyone became more focused on their careers. Gemma also wanted to distance herself from Faye because she doesn’t really agree with her mindset (clout chasing, exploiting people's secrets, etc). There was never a big falling out and they remain pretty cordial if they run into each other / like each other’s posts on social media. They’ll never go out of their way to be best friends like they once were though.

Jett & Luci

Definitely the closest members of the band. They’re best friends and practically brother and sister. Literally the only man luci will ever love lmao. Before their fame the band often played clubs and bars. At the time Jett was an underage teen/young adult and Luci often went out of her way to sneak him in and dress him up - but definitely always looked out for his safety. She was the only one to really give a damn about protecting this kid, and since then their bond really developed. They live together just to hang out on a regular and they ALWAYS talk to each other and send memes.

Gemma x Theo

She’s played in this man’s face A LOT and he’s surprisingly okay with it. They meet through Lance, who started university and became best friends with Theo along the way. At the time Gemma was a teenager in the last few years of high school. Obviously didn’t pay each other any mind at the time. She just thought of him as Lance’s dorky friend who was always at the time hanging out with him and their dad. Sometimes Gemma would tag along with them, much to her brother’s dismay bc she’d just whine all the time lmao. For the longest time Theo was just a family friend who was always there, always kind, always spent holidays with them. It wasn’t until Gemma was in her early/mid twenties that she started having heart eyes for Theo but always played it off as playful flirting. Eventually this became mutual and there’s always a lot of tension between them. That’s quite honestly her boyfriend when she’s back in her hometown, but will drop him when she has to go off for work or just end up in other situationships (excuses bc her mild fear of relationships). Always leads him on with the prospects of a stable relationship but then it just doesn’t happen.

Shayne & Valeria

Oh lord lmao. They met through Luci, who is a mutual friend of them both. They've only hung out in group settings and professional settings when they've worked on music together. Not once have they had a romantic moment, and not once has Valeria given off that vibe, but Shayne is obsessed with bugging her and asking her to date. It's borderline harassment and she can't stand him at all lmao. // On the flipside, in Valeria's fame/popstar verse she's a lot more unhinged and self-destructive. They're a famous couple, notorious for being on and off, a little bit toxic, but always obsessed with each other (even if he cheats on her on occasion). In every verse they're a hot mess.

Audrie, Lance, Gemma & Daniel (their dad. ik he's not an actual muse but yeah)

Audrie is the golden child without a doubt, and her father's pride and joy. However... she doesn't have a strong connection with her dad and even resents him. Growing up, Audrie felt like her dad dumped the responsibility of raising her siblings on her while he focused on his career. She felt robbed of her childhood because of him, but is also grateful for the strength and integrity she got from the experience. As an adult, interacting with her dad is incredibly awkward, and really only engages during the holidays and for the sake of her siblings/extended family.

Lance is for sure the least favorite child (in terms of success) but kind of the favorite. He's very close to his dad, especially since they're the last two who live in their family home, and they spend a lot of their time together and share common interests. Daniel often makes jokes about Lance needing to 'move out of his house' cause he's a grown ass man, but they both know the both of them would be lonely without the other and just hang out anyway. Daniel also expresses a lot of disappointment in Lance for the career route he chose and his lack of success (especially compared to Audrie and Gemma). But that's only because he wishes his son would've used his potential for something else.

Gemma is the favorite, even if she's not necessarily the 'golden child'. There's not much to elaborate on. She's just the youngest and has always been treated as the little princess who could do no wrong. Daniel is very proud of her for finding her way in the world and using her talents to the fullest, even if she doesn't have a traditional or academically gifted career.

more in-depth lore about Camille's family.

Angelica Byron and Tripp Rose - the parents. a once iconic Hollywood power couple. Angelica was a famous broadway actress in her prime, later turned television soap opera actress once she became 'too old' or 'middle aged' in her own words. Tripp was a big time film actor in the 90's and 2000's, primarily known for his roles in action films.

They're slightly inspired by Jolie-Pitt family. But only in the sense that they've adopted several different children from multicultural backgrounds. The reasons Angelica/Tripp (the parents) chose to adopt were for positive optics in the media, and Angelica is too vain/selfish to carry out pregnancies because she didn't want it to interfere with her career or physical appearance. Also the fact that she saw these children more like 'accessories' rather than building a family. She basically saw these poor orphans from third world countries and went "that's cute I want one of those"

In total there's four children - Nadine, Camille, Beau, and Yvonne. A lot of their childhood years were spent being paraded around as a family on red carpets and events.

Around when Camille was in her early teens, her parents went through a very public messy divorce. They were both terrible and equally at fault. Often slammed each other in the press and in front of their children. Purposely created a rift between their family and forced the kids to take sides. Camille took their mother's side while Nadine took their fathers - and the younger two remained neutral bc they were too young to really understand.

Fast forward to adulthood, when Camille and her siblings are all still divided and have taken to publicly feuding with each other.

Most of the drama is between Camille and her older sister Nadine since they're the most vocal about their personal/family issues. Nadine is very calculated and petty, often shading Camille and their little sister Yvonne for not having 'any talent' and relying on nepotism to stay relevant. Which is... lmao considering her acting career is built off their dad's connections. The hypocrisy pisses off Camille to no end and she has no problem crashing out or dragging her back. Which doesn't help her reputation at all but she doesn't care.

Camille doesn't have an issue with Beau or Yvonne to the extent she does with Nadine, but their lack of opinion and them 'staying out of the drama' irritates her. She feels like they're unintentionally taking a stance against her or making her look bad.

She does fight with Beau quite a bit. Mostly because he likes to stir the pot and say stupid shit in the middle of Camille/Nadine's internet fights. He's very much the person to be fake unbothered and indirectly shade them on his stories or posts. He's definitely said stuff like "Idk I was asleep" "bitches are so messy" or a simple "LOL". He's been called out on it from Camille or Nadine, but he's too much of a coward to address them directly.

Camille is closest to Yvonne. She's sweet and wants everyone to get along, but will never say anything or try to back anyone up. Doesn't have much of a backbone or opinion on anything, even if she's the one getting dragged or called out. Will occasionally play the victim if things get nasty.

Nadine Rose - camille's older sister. a film actress and absolute diva. got to where she is due to her dads connections and bribery. took their dad's surname in solidarity with him. has an excellent PR team who always makes her look like 'the good guy' in all this.

Beau Rose - camille's younger brother. an up and coming fashion designer renowned for their innovative, androgynous / gender-defying designs. only took their dad's name because it 'sounded better' for their brand and image.

Yvonne Rose-Byron - the baby of the family. beauty influencer and wannabe makeup mogul (insp by k.ylie j.enner). struggling to find her place in the world but has zero ambitions. optimistic and delusionally wishes her family would get along.

(29-32) demisexual. cancer sun/virgo moon/taurus rising. research writer who focuses on archaeology and paleontology. an introvert and homebody at heart, typically comes off as grumpy at first sight. keeps everyone at a distance until she sees the potential for something deep/authentic. generally very altruistic. she's also funnier and stranger than you'd think - prone to saying things that are amusing in a sarcastic, unhinged manner or making bad dad jokes. loves the people she loves deeply but will never be a hype man; she'll tell you the truth and what you need to hear.

Araminta 'Minty' Sajakul

(24-26) lesbian. sag sun/gemini moon/aquarius rising. loud, bold, brash, and colorful. though she likes to think of herself as unconventional and a trendsetter. has a small but growing following on social media from her unique, whimsy tattoo business and others just love her outfits and loud opinions. always out downtown and getting involved, either in nightlife or voicing herself and getting involved in small scale protests. definitely a woman of the people.

(27-29) bisexual. gemini sun/scorpio moon/libra rising. comes from an old money real estate titan family, while her mother is known for being a socialite and reality tv. a popular influencer and somewhat of a celebrity (think h.ailey b.ieber, s.ofia r.itchie type). portrays herself as an outgoing, charming person to everyone, but deep down she's a friend to no one. she uses her connections for personal gain - either to elevate her status or use people's secrets to run an anonymous celebrity gossip blog (similar to deux moi). smart enough to balance things out with false information to cover her tracks. very fake and calculated almost all the time.

Shayne de Silva

(30-32) pansexual. leo man (deragatory). the lead singer and frontman for punk band 'mystery ink!' and is undoubtedly one of the more famous members. has been heavily pushed by his label into having this sex symbol bad boy image. always in the tabloids for being grossly problematic. there was one time in his life where he was known for being a great, outgoing person, but fame definitely got to his head and made him a rotted person. his bandmates noticed that and kind of look at him with contempt now. when he isn't being a player and leading people on, he's either being mean spirted or just a dumbass. he just sucks lmaoo

Benjamin 'Benji' Rodriguez (revamped)

(29-31) bisexual. taurus sun/pisces moon/libra rising. professional baseball player, comes from humble beginnings. the most selfless and giving heart, loves his mother and abuela dearly (who he was raised by). uses his small wealth to build a comfortable life for himself/friends/family and uses his influence for good causes and charity. golden retriever type who's very agreeable and enthusiastic. falls in love a lot. loves the smaller and more sentimental things in life. a hard worker in every sense of the word. low activity/selective bc the golden retriever type can be boring to write at times.

Gemma took ballet as a kid because her parents wanted her to channel her chaotic energy into something "productive". To no one's surprise, she was still chaotic after all that and was very clumsy / bad at it. Very much a bull in a china shop.

Camille is a pseudo vegan. She only follows the diet to stay skinny and gaunt, but completely uses animal products, loves wearing leather and furs, buys a bunch of high quality meat products for her dogs. I know people are constantly on her and call her out for it lmaoo

also: Valeria is mostly vegan, only has exceptions for very few specific things. Lance is vegetarian.

Mystery Ink's fans are referred to as "inkies" or "squiddos" - both coined by Jett and Luci ( who like to go on livestream a lot with their fans ).

Gemma’s nickname for Audrie is ‘Audrie Hepburn’ and she also has this as her contact name.

Audrie likes to foster shelter cats in her home, in addition to her own cat. She loves the idea of giving these animals a second chance at life and being loved :(

Theo is obsessed with snow / winter / the holiday season and it brings out his inner child. His family celebrates Hanukkah but Christmas is v pretty to him.

random muse headcanons + self-perception.

Trinity. Never had a great self-esteem growing up and that's to blame on her misogynistic family & shitty upbringing. It's made her very introverted, quiet, and she never thought of herself being worth anything or capable of anything. Her self esteem only evolved when she went off to college - since she was away from her family and able to find out who she is without outside interference. Being pretty and quiet, she received a lot of comments about being intimidating or unapproachable. It was jarring at first but over time she just... grew to like it? It felt like 'her thing' and she molded herself into filling that quiet confidence 'badass' role. It was a way to embrace her femininity without having to change her introverted nature or change anything about herself. It was a true 'who run the world? girls' moment for her and now she walks on the ground like she owns it. A mother <3

Valeria. Trying to break into the industry as the artist, but constantly facing rejection and a lack of support has really worn down her confidence and self worth. She's very aware that she's a 'flop' and a failed venture and she dwells on it a lot - even if she's much happier in life now. Deep down she's a very wounded person and kinda seeks validation from others by forcing herself to be outgoing or agreeable. Tries to force herself into being this idea of a 'good person' even though its not 100% genuine and she just feels like shit inside. Wants to be better but she almost always chooses the option of being self destructive :/ a true tortured artist lmao

In her Fame verse she's a lot more unhinged though. She constantly forces this unproblematic polished image on herself to be liked, and the love from her fans/media has definitely gotten to her head. If someone goes against her, she's vengeful and (lowkey) convinces her fans to do her bidding/dirty work by attacking people online. Doesn't care about the consequences of anything and just does what's beneficial to her. Morality is just questionable and close to being far gone.

Aisha is definitely my funniest /most unserious muse. She has zero solid principles in life except 'the vibes' - even her job isn't really a job, it's her just vibing. She's very out of touch with reality and genuinely convinced that she's a philanthropist or saving the world, when the extent of her 'activism' is just her donating money or posting some infographics to her ig story. Aisha's idea of working is posting a link about donating to relief funds, and then being like "wow I'm just really making a big difference and changing the world". Then would proceed to charter a jet to go to some boujee foreign rave immediately after LOL

She also definitely just talks about things just to talk, even if she doesn't necessarily believe it. Lives in delusion constantly but completely believes it. I'd say she's a nice person but definitely misguided and has a mind that's easily swayed.

Tbh a lot of this comes from being raised / stressed to follow a specific path that her parents wanted her too, but in her teens she just said fuck it and went off the rails. For a while she didn't feel like she knew who she 'really' was without her parents guidance. So she's really just goes with whatever she feels. It doesn't help that she's born into a billionaire family that only adds to her being out of touch and not getting how things really work. Her behaviour stresses out her little sister to the max

I've been thinking about Gemma's avoidant behaviour regarding romantic relationships and why it's generally a mess-

Deep down she has a very push and pull perspective on relationships. On one hand she's very codependent; all her life she's been babied and given lots of attention from her family. She's so used to always being around people who love her unconditionally - she loves attention and being adored. Since her career requires her to travel she likes to keep established situationships and fwbs in her back pocket (in different cities) so she feels secure. In situationships she does fall for them half the time, but that's quickly met with her making excuses or pushing them away. The other half of the time she seeks out emotionally unavailable people or just complete douchebags to make it easier

Now her hesitation to establish those situationships into exclusive relationships - on the surface she likes to blame her career. She knows it's not something she can easily sustain. On a deeper level? There's some low level trauma attached to that and it's connected to her mother's death. (could write a whole dissertation on how their mother's death messed them up individually but that's something else entirely) While her older sister was trying to pick up the pieces and her older brother was going through his own depressive period, Gemma was the only one who really focused on how broken their dad was after losing the love of his life. Of course she was grieving her mother as well, but when thinking about love she always hones into that moment and the idea of deep attachment followed by loss really makes her hesitate pursuing anything.

And on a lesser level... she did have a serious relationship once. Senior year of high school, a private school power couple with a gorgeous star athlete who broke her heart. That made her very much "got my heart broken once and never recovered" meme lol

Despite everything she does want a genuine ~ true love ~ lowkey and it would be nice to write her in a relationship, working through her complicated psyche.

mystery ink's friendship and the state of their band isn't what it used to be. half of them won't admit it out loud and the other half is too oblivious to realize it. they like to trick themselves into believing they're keeping the band together for the sake of their friendship, even though their solo endeavors are much more successful. it also feels like growing apart means accepting they're "getting old" and they're never going back to how things were 10 years ago. tightly clinging onto their friendship for old times sake.

imani's parents are officers in the navy, which meant that growing up she's had to travel and move around quite a bit due to her parents being deployed. she's lived in hawaii, japan, germany, and florida. now that she's an adult with her own life, imani values her stability a lot but will often visit her family in whatever part of the world they're in. she's also developed a taste for more 'extravagant' and international travel locations, rather than local destinations or day trips.

dean's gone through a lot of different jobs in order to support himself / his music career. mainly very shitty retail and food service jobs. the most memorable & enjoyable was when he served food at a nursing home. he only got fired because instead of actually working, he was wasting time by having long conversations with the old people. talking about elvis and old timey music, retro cars, sports, random things like that.

her cat miso just might be more famous than she is-- at least in the present day. for context, miyoung has a grumpy old exotic shorthair who she adores and has made him an instagram years ago. since then the cat has gained a bunch of followers and popularity and she runs that instagram account like it's her job. sometimes wonders if she should put in that much effort into her own career/exposure.

growing up the yoon siblings had annual trips to visit korea, specifically to spend time with their mother's side of the family. while that side of the family is very wealthy, very over the top, and wedged into high society, the trips were fun. and a learning experience. they learned more about their culture, the language, heard stories about their mother, etc. over the years the trips became irregular - audrie and lance still went more often, while gemma opted out and didn't care for it (only bc she's bad at speaking korean and is more focused on her social life).
