toshinori had a weird phase while over in the states where he was oddly obsessed with country music —

might tower was built some 8 or so years into toshinori's employment as a professional hero. it's 86 floors including the penthouse, and houses just about anything you could think you'd need on a day to day basis working for the big man — including multiple cafeterias, roomy offices, an entire event center, and a whole floor dedicated to being a pretty well stocked "break room", even including a gym and spa. he likes to take good care of his employees, as he can only imagine how stressful it'd be to work under japan's number one hero, the world's symbol of peace. and seeing that there's a lot of them, he does his best to accommodate them all, as briefly stated in this hc post. a good chunk of the tower is also open to the public. aside from a few unauthorized areas throughout the floors, like the offices and conference rooms, but even those can be authorized through a supervised tour. the exception to this, however, is behind the MIGHT GATE on floors 82 through 86.

the might lobby begins on the 82nd floor and is mainly comprised of an open, 3 story foyer used to house and display awards and gifts he's received over the years — like the 20ft bronze all might statue we've seen in the comics. there's also an information desk where people can ask for directions and schedule tours, as well as all might's landing pad — a designated, roped off area where he can safely land after returning from his hero work. immediately beyond the might gate is all might's office. it's big, and rather empty — probably pretty underwhelming to most who've had the pleasure of seeing it. it's comprised of a grand desk, surprisingly void of any paperwork, a couple of large portraits that he received from a fan quite some years ago, and a few plants to help fill the area. in case the immaculate condition of the place wasn't enough of a hint, his office is hardly ever used. up until the more recent years, he's had staff to take care of all of his back office work. so it's treated more like a glorified foyer to his LIVING QUARTERS located through another oversized set of doors. toshinori didn't always live in the tower, but as work piled up and days grew longer, he found himself spending more time commuting to and from work than he was able to spend at home. so it didn't take long for it to become his permanent residence. to some, all might's living quarters would probably be considered just as underwhelming as his office. it's an even LARGER space, with even more areas void of any sort of personality or life, but it has everything he'd need to live comfortably enough — a rather large kitchen, a master suite, a private gym...it even has what some would consider to be a pretty impressive sort-of theater for a living room, as one of yagi's favorite things to do is watch movies. to an outsider, the way everything is placed and laid out, the apartment as a whole may sort of seem like...an afterthought. perhaps because he wasn't planning on living there full time as he was, that it was something that he just accepted to be at some point and made do with what he had. the apartment's also never considered showroom ready, as most people would probably think. toshinori doesn't have any staff taking care of his quarters, as he quite enjoys his privacy beyond the gate. so he's fairly decent at picking up after himself and cleaning up his own messes — but seeing as he's practically NEVER expecting company, the bed's not gonna be made and you'll need to watch your step for stray house shoes when walking around.

toshinori was very hyperactive as a child and had overall very high energy. so much so, you would hardly ever see him sitting still or even sitting down — even while watching tv or EATING. he was known for avoiding naps and practically never allowing his mother a proper break, which oftentimes led toshinori into TROUBLE — always finding something to wriggle his way into in an attempt to escape boredom. from the young age of five, toshinori was enrolled in wrestling courses. not only did it give him a proper facet to work out most of that excess ENERGY when he was younger, but it also acted as a form of discipline as he grew older. he honed his skills and continued participating in the sport throughout his entire early education. and it showed. he's won numerous titles over the years — it didn't take long for toshinori yagi to become a pretty well known name throughout the league. he was even on track to joining the junior olympic team, possibly PRO after that — it seemed like nothing and nobody could stop him. not even the tragic death of his parents, as he still managed to take home a title just a month after the tragedy. it gave him something to focus on, to work towards — fueled his competitive spirit and drove him forward through a lot of muck in his life after his parent's passing. he continued his traditional training up until he was taken in by nana, his fighting style shifting a bit once his combat training with gran torino began — after being told by the older man that he can no longer rely on a rule set to determine the flow of battle, and that he'd have to work those "stupid wrestling moves" out of his system if he wants to have any chance of winning a real battle. while it hurt to hear considering how much he put into his past training, he understood where torino was coming from and focused on shifting his style to what we see from him today. though there are still glaringly obvious moments where his ten+ years of wrestling experience tend to shine through, even after so many years. but yeah, picking a fight with all might is obviously very ill advised... — but i just needed y'all to know that, picking a fight with toshinori isn't gonna end much better for you.

anyone else think about the vestige world contained within one for all and how it's sorta stockpiled these fragments of quirk factors from all the previous users and combined them into what izuku wields today and how we still see this aura of all might within ofa despite him being quirkless and having no physical factor to contribute and how it's because he in such a literal sense put his soul, his consciousness and entire self into ofa, into being a hero and this symbol of peace for the people and how that separates him and his vestige from all the other users and how that only makes him losing ofa worse because he is, again, in a literal sense, losing an actual piece of him or is it just me —

okay, but we also have to admit — though toshinori was considered very skilled as a young wrestler, it did help that he was a fuckin' MASSIVE 6'2" at 13 years old...

toshinori is actually ( surprisingly ) really good at cooking. he also happens to really enjoy it. however, in his current state, there's a lot he can't ( shouldn't ) eat anymore — of course, a good chunk of them being some of his favorites. on top of that, he hardly eats half a serving at any given sit-down meal — leading to leftovers for days, weeks even if he's made a proper meal. but he doesn't let his predicament stop him from doing something he likes to do. instead, he shares extra servings amongst his staff and few friends, and is even known to pass out meals to complete strangers in need. he will also take up any chance to cook for other people, as he tends to utilize those opportunities to cook some of the things he's not allowed to eat himself anymore. ( possibly a ploy to get a little taste of some of his favorites in the process. but that's not important ! ) all that being said: while he can be considered a pretty amazing cook, he is not allowed to bake.

would y'all believe me if i told you all might does his hair like that because of the first piece of fanart he ever got, it was from a five year old and it was given to him just before he graduated from ua, before he became a pro hero —

toshinori's main love language ( giving ) is, obviously, ACTS OF SERVICE. always has been. always will be. but we'll save that for another hc post. this one's more or less about his secondary love language: GIFT GIVING. being japan's number one pro hero for over 30 years does have it's perks — one of them, of course, being the SALARY. over the years, toshinori has racked up more money than he knows what to do with. He's not quite frugal with it — spending a BIG chunk of it on work related things, like might tower and his tailor made suits and costumes. he's also quite generous with the salaries of his staff — as few and far between as they are, he can quite comfortably pay near triple what most other agencies typically offer. another chunk of it he DONATES. to several different organizations, but mainly to a charity created by himself, under his real name, that's dedicated to helping those in need after hero-villain driven tragedy — whether that be damage ( personally or property ) brought on directly by a villain, or even accidents / collateral damage caused by a hero at work. ( seeing as licensed pro heroes should have insurance to cover those sort of things, the charity tends to step in when the insurance payout isn't quite enough. ) the LAST quarter of his salary is what he tends to keep for himself. which...is still a lot. but also the main point of this post: most of this remaining money is spent on the people he cares about. sure, some of it will go to a savings account ( which he later blows on hercules, but that's also a convo for another day ), BUT HE IS A SERIAL GIFT GIVER. and this is fueled by his horrible habit of spending money because he knows he has money. despite popular opinion, toshinori yagi is not materialistic at all...he only finds value in things when they have value to other people. he buys the groceries for the family in line behind him, he will buy this random thing he found online because it reminded him of you, he will buy that one thing you mentioned last week just because he knows it'll make you happy or make your life easier. he lives for that shit. this sort of lifestyle has also lead to...an odd sort of squick of his, where: you are not spending any money out of your pocket when he's around. even if it's on yourself. went out for lunch ? drinks ? he's picking up the check. stopped for gas after driving him down the street ? he's filling up the tank. and, this leads more or less back to the statement that he has more money than he knows what to do with — and he is not spending all that money on himself. he can't. and he can't think of any better way to spend it than on the people he cares about.
